    I drive a Marvel R Performance for more than 4 months now and I love it. The charging speed actually peaks at 92-93kW up to around 40-45% where its slowly declining. Btw could you make a in-depth 0-100 speed test in the upcoming videos? Thanks for this video!

    Depending on the reason to buying an EV, (family hauler, commuting, microcamping, etc) efficiency is usually the number one spec we should consider, right ? Of course, asking price is very important too.
    What do you think, people ?
    Efficiency ? Comfort ? Service-ability ? Cost when things go wrong ? Time without the car , while it is being fixed or waiting parts to get fixed...etc
    Sadly, VW, Skoda and similar brands seem to have speedier time frames when compared to Tesla, to my regret.
    As for Chinese Cars, perhaps they make sense to export to Norway and Germany but to other, smaller European markets the infrastructure to service them will take a while to exist.
    At least there are many options to choose from and every customer needs to do their research on cost/efficiency/comfort and the most important aspects of buying, owning , charging, servicing and repairing their car.
    Thank you Bjorn, for making things more clear for us, in the grand scheme of things.

    In Sweden "Vi Bilägare" tested Marvel R and the 4wd system is really useless. If you drive backwards the frontmotor is disconected and if you get stuck in snow the 4wd stop working also. MG has answered that the 4wd is for sportiness not if you get stuck.

When showing music on the board (if you choose to show it) on the ioniq , music info is on the right side and on the steering wheel it is on the left side.
    Have you made a 1000km challenge on this car for the Luxury model?

    I bought one and like to drive it the consumption during Desember has been 2.2 KWH in average and its frost here -4c in average this month still have some adjustments to go thru since its not like my old car "KIA Sportage 2.0 crdi awd" 8.5 years old. Theres alot new to learn about it, the latest upgrade r22 and r23 have fixed the infotainmentsystem a lot I find it quick. I agree that when I am i snow it is not as good as the KIA but whoes have snow every day? It all depends on the way you drive. I am looking for the spring just 3 months from now I hope I can will put on my new summer tires. Its a nice car to drive - 0 to 50km in just 1.8 sec. 0 to 80km in just 2.5 sec, 0 to 100km 4.6 sec. Remember the battery has to be full, the temp, tires and the weather ofcourse to get those numbers. Happy new year

    I know that you are way better than most when doing research but everywhere I have checked the net capacity of the battery is 65kwh. If this is true… is your spreadsheet correct in this video?
    Excuse my mad English.
    I’m trying to figure out if I will buy this or the eniro?
    Let’s say that I will be traveling 600-700km which car will do it easier and when is one better than the other? I’ll maybe do a long distance trip 4-5 times per year . Mostly I’ve seen reviews where it charges at around 90kwh speed and the consumption is also lower than shown here.
    Are there some with experience regarding the difference between maintenance between these cars?
    Either I’ll buy an eniro 2020/21 that have gone 50000km for around 27500usd or a marvel r lux for 34900usd that has only 7000km on it.
    What do you think? Which one would decrease the least in value within around 5-7 years in your opinion?

  • @egil-andrenessmortensen3037
    @egil-andrenessmortensen3037 2 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    Despite only having 288 hp it pulls kind of strong . 4.9 sek to 100 if i remember correctly. Maybe it is because of the gearbox (?). I think this kind of sets it apparat from the slow 8 sec cars. Also 4wd is nice to have in norway, although it did some weird shit in a hill with ice when i tested it in march. It seemed like it is software related. The car refuses to move if its slippery, until you hit the Accelerator. Then all four wheels spin on the ice. Whats the point of having 4wd if its useless?

    • @emmoan
      @emmoan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think the high torque helps the acceleration. Its 665nm in the performance.

    • @Danne89
      @Danne89 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      AWD is also deactivated when reversing in this car. It was one of the biggest cons when reviewed by Swedish press. So if you're stuck in snow you won't get any help at all to get loose. It's just for acceleration performance.

    • @FSXgta
      @FSXgta 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a type of 4WD that kicks in if your front wheels slip, then enabling 4wd. It saves fuel because you are in front wheel drive until you need more grip. Always on 4wd increase consumption which is why this system is sometimes preferred.

    • @egil-andrenessmortensen3037
      @egil-andrenessmortensen3037 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@FSXgta actually turns out they disabled the most useful awd. Or at least its beeing claimed in another post in this video. My model 3 also kicks in all four wheels when needed. The difference is that it works, while the Marvel R performance is completely useless (i tested it myself) Apparently it is only for accelerating.

    I think this was a strange choice, 3 motors and transmission.
    A transmission will always lower efficciency, as it has more friction.
    Of course at high speed you can run lower RPMS on the motor, but if you put 3 motors in the car - I would imagine that a better way to do it is to fit with different ratios.
    So then you can skip the transmission, use fixed ratios but slightly different ratios. So then from standstill use the power of all motors, but at high speed cut out the rear or front motor, so you let one of the motors be geared more for top speed.

    Nice, finally a affordable car for us that is not a CEO or a dictator. And a great overview on car so far. And of course the left steering wheel controllers controls the infotainment on the right side, and the right controls controls the functions on the left side. You guys knows that the left eye is decoded in the rear right side of brain while the right eye is decoded on the left. So this makes perfectly sense, just like the MG ZS EV, when the air is directed down into the foot-well and want it to also also blow some air in front of you, you press the down button, not the up button. For the same reason... 4:50

      All electric cars have a reduction gear. Normally 1:10 range. Adding a gear don't make much difference except more power and torque in low speed and better fuel consumption due to less engine friction due to lower speed at high car speeds. Having a bigger engine instead might hurt low speed consumption due to low engine load at low speed.

      The front motor has a one way clutch. It's physically impossible for the front motor to help reversing. They probably did it as a cheap way to be more efficient, but it doesn't seem like it helped much.

    I really think their 2 speed gearbox (also on Porsche Taycan ) is madness !!
    My Tesla has single speed and it’s faster and more efficient!

      If you watch the video you see that max power is reached at a very low speed. That's the advantage. At constant torque the power is zero. So you need some speed(rotation to get full power. With two gears you get full power faster. You can see the results in TB sheet. Better acceleration with lower power to weight ratio

      @@ulyden1947 so the drawbacks are weight, space, cost .. but
      (i) the Taycan only has the two speed box on one end ! 🤦‍♂️
      (ii) The similarly priced Plaid S is faster accelerating and more efficient.
      I don’t think Porsche should be proud of the two speed box, perhaps, I’d argue, they should be ashamed of needing it ?

      @@maxflight777 El electric cars have gears. Even the plad engine is not strong enough to accelerate the car without. Most el cars have a 10:1 reduction gear. Having a 2 speed gear a smaller motor ca have8:1 and 12:1 ratio. Then you will have 50% more torque in the start and you can reduce engine speed 50% when cruising at 250km/h reducing losses wear and centripetal forces on engine rotor .
      Engine power is torque times speed(Radians/second) Increased gear ration increase wheel torque and full engine power is reached faster during acceleration from zero. That's why taycan is faster than a similar powered tesla

    About the topic of Chinese software quality. It's not specific to cars, that's kind of the rule for all Chinese software. You wouldn't want to dig through whatever runs in most home routers imported from China. I've had the "honor" to come in contact with several pieces of Chinese software and haven't seen one that I'd call good or even decent.
    I suspect it has something to do with culture. To do a good job as a software engineer, one often needs to challenge the boss, challenge the spec (mostly because the fact the spec is wrong is only discovered while trying to implement it and it's impossible to write a 100% correct spec ahead of the time). And it's not exactly customary to challenge authorities or orders in China.

      Not sure if you mean the sofware not performing the work it design to do. Which is a real problem, or it is just the operation not fit in your habit. Which by the way is more user problem for the later. If you wan to see bad sofware, load up first those QNX base system or pre 3.0 android. Shit never work right and crash alot
