    most people aren't stuck on slavery - it's all the racism that came afterwards that we still see the effects of that we aren't over. It's CONSTANTLY being told, you're not a slave, what more do you want. No law to make people truly equal has ever been unanimous. That's why I hate when people bring up "oh other nations had slaves" like that has anything to do with what we're talking about today.

    • @cherylmosley797
      @cherylmosley797 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      What we’re talking about today is Slavery was never rectified( reparation )or acknowledged. We still suffer from the effects of slavery to this day. Self hatred, unknown family, the many inventions stolen, genocide, systematic racism. Nothing has changed!!! As this president and society shows us daily. The stats in every area of life shows the Black citizens are last in everything except modern-day plantations commonly known as prisons.

    • @DM-jn3zo
      @DM-jn3zo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Samuel Redmond I maybe could have phrased it better but things like the fair housing act, civil rights act of 1964, the voting rights act of 1965, any progressive bill - people act like those decisions were unanimous and they weren't. People fought to stop them every step of the way. It was ~a 70/30 split on almost all of those with even more people who would've preferred to add caveats like requiring blacks to show they had above a 6th grade education to vote.

      @@YoMomma99 most african americans are not aware of their true roots that trace back to Israel. So many people want to shame it because they know its true. About 5 out of 10 black people or most 65% of black americans say that their dna test reports blood from Togo/Benin/Ghana. A map in 1747 confirmed an occupied kingdom called the Kingdom of Judah residing in Ghana and other major cities close to Ghana. This is where black people migrated to before they were enslaved and shipped. Thats how we bacame MIXED with african. Not because we are.The majority of africans that are here in america already know our history as black people being the jews/hebrew israelites. Almost every culture knows. Of course people got mixed, not every dang body is pureblood, but the truth cant hide if you do your research. 🤷‍♀️

    It's not just about "getting over" slavery it's that some Americans don't want to study and understand its impact then or how it shaped our society to the way it is now. History is not some far flung event that has no bearing on now everything is connected by a chain of events. Society and language is formed by actions from the past. The wealth gap between whites and blacks is not some coincidence or because whites are smarter (although white supremacists generally think that) it's because of our history of discrimination from slavery up to today.

    VL: You can afford a trip to Africa!

    First he said “he has to get his money up, then backtracked when Vlad pressed him that he can more than afford to go now. He then said he can but couldn’t 2 years ago.
    Moral of the story: It’s not a priority. Black Americans love talking that “woke, african” type of talk but can easily just take one trip just to one of the many 50+ countries over there if they just divert some of the money from their weed budget.
    The played out travel destinations are the typical DR, Mexico, France, England. Come on, we can do better!

    True Black Americans that's more educated on our history would know that that most if not all of the slaves were captured and sold by other Africans tribes in Mainly West Africa along with some Central African countries. They were already slaves before being sold to White Americans(formally British), but many Africans don't know much about Black American history or culture. We're 2 different people.

    • @YungHandz706
      @YungHandz706 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Babylon Flowers There's multiple sources explaining what Black American culture is on google(not all 100% accurate). Africans have many different cultures from west,central,north and south africa and none of them is the same as Black American culture as I said before.

    • @YungHandz706
      @YungHandz706 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Babylon Flowers I'm not gonna make this super long, because I can clearly see you're here to argue, but you lack comprehension on even the basic stuff I typed, so going deep with you would be a waste of time like it is explaining things deeply with many people writing ignorant youtube comments attempting to feel superior by playing internet intellectual. I'm more educated on my roots and history(which is Black American history) than most as very a educated Black American, meanwhile you haven't said your ethnicity at all and where you from, so you acting like you know our history or culture better than me has no credibility. I brought up google for YOU to read about it to get at least some basics since you appear to be asking me a question that I didn't want to explain super long in detail about, but I see now you either didn't comprehend that or you did, but or just looking to argue because you don't like the fact that I claim Black American culture and not African culture.
      People like you generally wouldn't have a problem if a White American decided to take pride in claiming White American culture instead of european culture(Where most of their ancestors come from), but y'all get defensive when we say that our culture and identity is not the same as Africans, even though most Africans will make the difference between White Americans and Europeans due to bring whitewashed to look at the American identity as only truly belonging to White Americans. I speak a language that came originally from the British people due to the effects of colonization of America from descendants of the British(White Americans), and White Americans along with Native Americas also spoke that same language for the past centuries that isn't originally there's. I speak American english and the Black American dialect, which is a popular dialect worldwide many other use some part of, mainly due to Hip Hop.
      I said that Black American and Africans are two different type of people not that there's "2 different types of Blacks" and we don't all behave the same. Your comments are ignorance implying that there's a little to no diversity in the Black Subrace, which is false information that racist like to use to dehumanize Black people as one big tribe.

      @YungHandz706 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Babylon Flowers I had to stop reading after the serious contradictions and deflecting you doing. Why would I explain to you about Black American culture, when you already believe I don't know what I'm talking about in your accusations and your comment before was acting like you know more about Black American culture and African culture and history than I do? Are you the teacher or the student? You dodged my questions on what your ethnicity was nor even brought up anything from your background to boost your credibility...Smh you all over the place and I was tryna keep it short but now imma end it here lil bruh next time learn how to actually have a conversation and properly ask a question when you want to know something.

    American slaves had a country, called Liberia....According to the Encyclopedia of Georgia History and Culture, "as early as 1820, black Americans had begun to return to their ancestral homeland through the auspices of the American Colonization Society." By 1847, the American Colonization Society founded Liberia, a land to be settled by black people returning from the United States of America.[11] Between 1822 and the American Civil War, the American Colonization Society had migrated approximately 15,000 free blacks back to Africa.

So don't be shocked when you hear an African that doesn't properly consider the impacts of slavery. Luckily I was studious, I studied and enjoyed history.
