To address Keratosis pilaris, I love AmLactin, CeraVe SA cream (for drier skins), and lotion, and Alpha Skin Renewal Body Lotion 12% Glycolic acid lotion. I use the AHA lotion 3-4 x/week daytime and the Naturium Retinol body lotion at night 3-4 x/week. It's helped with skin texture, discoloration and KP. For feet, I love Kerasal foot Repair, with petrolatum, glycerin, urea, and salicylic acid, it seals, exfoliates, and softens, my dry cuticles are in much better shape after using this. I apply on damp feet post-shower, put on socks and the next morning, my feet are baby soft.
The la roche posay double repair saved me during a rosacea flare, thank you so much! I had tried the triple ap lipikar cream and it seemed to cause a bad rosacea flare, so your rec for the double repair cream was great and my rosacea looks almost nonexistent now
For those who don't care for fragrance, there's a night version of the Olay serum that doesn't have fragrance. Have you checked out the e.l.f. youth boosting advanced night retinoid serum? It has retinal and hydroxypinacolone retinoate. Also re: vit c derivatives, do you have any others that you recommend? Some folks who have acne like SAP as found in products like the one from Bubble. Gold Bond has a body retinol as well.
Thank you Dr Liu. For all your affordable skincare. I’m agree you will education skincare for mature women around 50 years and more and Happy New Year’s to you and your family ❤
Can you do a video on skin allergies related to fragrances, BOP, and linalool/limolene? I have many allergies, one being linalool and SkinSafe app says I need to avoid seemingly innocuous things like coconut oil, sweet almond oil, hemp seed oil, etc. the CAMP app my derm gave me said these things are safe though so I’m confused.
Really appreciate this video. I've been looking for an AFFORDABLE THD ascorbate vitamin c serum for a while now, and you got me covered. Quickest purchase I've made 😭 Thank you!
Thank you for reviewing Vanicream vitamin C! I've been using it day and night for about six weeks, and I i love it! Affordable fat soluble vitamin C and ceramides I can get from Target 👍👍 Had a bit of stinging at first, so i diluted it with cocokind ceramides serum. But now i can use it full strength. No issues pairing with ascorbyl glucoside, 2% arbutin, Protini, zinc sunscreen, or 0.025% retinol. Highly recommend!
The Naturium Cream Serum is the lowest priced retinaldehyde product I have found. Plus it is now available in 0.1% as well as the 0.05. Higher priced retinaldehyde products that also come in 0.1% include: Medik8 10 which is $96.30, Murad is $105, Youth to the People is $69, Allies of Skin is $65.34.
I love the price of the naturium retinaldehyde serum, I love the texture of it. BUT I am worried about the stability of the product itself as Retinal is more difficult to stabilize. So am I in the end wasting money on a product that expires more quickly and therefore less effective is my concern. This is why I have been contemplating buying medik8 instead because they have a well known stabilized formula.
@@elettramia6380 That’s understandable. Right now I’m at every other pm with retinaldehyde on my neck and upper chest and no idea how long it will take me to go through it. Not sure when I will try to go to every day.
Dr. Liu, do you apply the Oil of Olay Super Serum on damp or dry skin? And do they disclose the percentage of Vitamin C? Like if I use this serum, is it the only Vitamin C I need? I already use vitamin C in my skincare routine and love it, but wondering since this serum combines several things, if the vitamin C is potent enough compared to what my skin is already used to, which is 15% L-ascorbic acid. Oil is Olay also doesn’t say how much to apply. Is it one dropper? The directions only say “as needed.” 🤷🏻♀️ Also, I saw they had a night-time version, which I heard is fragrance-free. Do you know if that’s the only difference between the 2? Thank you so much.
Thank you Dr. Liu! Happy New Year 🎉 I'm always a fan! I've been using tretinoid 0.05 for years 3-4 times a week without a problem but suddenly during this holiday, my acne went crazy! Even red ones on both my eyebrows... I'm not sure if I should hold my Tret or continue with this purging, which is weird because I'm not even new to it, probably hormones??...
Thank you unlikely to be tret. Keep in mind that our body and skin is dynamic environment food stress all that can be triggers. I definitely break out more around the holidays with all the sugar. But certainly if not better follow up with your dermatologist.
@@dr.jennyliu indeed! My derm is hardcore and recommended me using tret even when I had acne near my mouth. I'll see him again in March and fingers crossed I'll be way better by then 🤞
I tried the versed retinol body lotion but it was like rubbing diaper cream on my skin! It was so thick and tacky. It was a super inelegant texture and I couldn’t stand using it. I definitely prefer Gold Bond or Paula’s Choice retinol body lotions.
@emilyclaire I need to try it! I just bought Advanced Clinicals retinol lotion to try. My fav texture is still PC. Not too thick and blends well and dries down. Not greasy.
I always thought it was pretty Thin rather than thick. But I myself switched to the gold bond retinol lotion and love it way better as well, it is also cheaper and they have alot of years of producing products so my hopes are the gold bond retinol lotion has a better stabilized formula
Hi Dr. Liu, Good morning! Can you talk about copper peptides with retinol ? Is it okay to pair them together provided toleration? Does it have any negative effects when paired together? There has been mixed reviews online and would like to know your thoughts!

I recently got the Neutrogena UV Tint, and the tint is awful! I am light-med with olive undertones, and the med shade was too dark so I got the light shade and it is reaaaallllyyyyy pink, I only use it on days I'd put makeup on top of it anyways, to disguise how pink it is. I'm looking to try the Cetaphil Redness Relief tinted spf 40, I've heard it's olive undertonde friendly
Going into CVS and Walgreens these days I’m always shocked to see how much they have improved when it comes to the amount of skincare and the amount of good skincare brands they have. I do wish some Sephora and Ulta brands came to the actual drug store and some brands like naturism came to the drug store and not just at target because I have a cvs that’s 2 minutes from and would be nice to go to cvs and find even more brands I like. I also don’t think “skin cycling” is a trend it’s been around for years people just need to add nonsense to it and act like it’s new.
I am looking for sunscreen. I grew up not wearing it. I am 30 and everytime i try su screen it burns, stings and makes my skin itch. Is there any you suggest for Sensitive skin. I never sunburn but tan instantly and have olive skin. But i know that there is still a risk of cancer...
Hey Dr. Liu, can you ever do a video on coconut-free products/coconut-free cleansers? I haven’t been able to find any good recommendations that don’t have fragrances or major irritants
Why? The products are really good and formulated well. Even my derm said she liked Neturiem. I have been incredibly impressed with almost everything I have tried and the prices are on point. Just remember we all make mistakes and bad decisions. Even you. 🤷🏼♀️
Can you do more content specifically for mature skin over 65? Your skin is beautiful and I love your teaching!
Thank you yes!!!
I wish for this too :)
I love the vanicream vitamin c serum. It’s so hydrating and not at all irritating.

Hii Dr. Liu, Could you please make a video about skincare products to use during and after pregnancy. Skincare for oily acne prone skin!
Thanks!

The retinaldehyde is encapsulated to fortify stability within the formula. 😉
