Can I just say how much I appreciate your pro-aging stance? It's really refreshing to hear that aging isn't a bad five letter word. I like be 55, I'm beautiful and sexy at any age... as long as I keep believing that I am. And... it's good to get the "real deal" on how to keep the largest organ of our body (skin) in tip top shape for the hopefully long healthy life ahead of us --- while not braking the bank. Thank you Shereene!
Yes, Tia, pro-aging! I've heard that used instead of anti-aging and I love it! Like Shereene said, If you're not aging, then you're dead. And if you're dead then you don't need skin care. ha ha I watch another dermatologist youtube channel and he says, Better old than cold. ha ha I'm 43 and I'm hoping to be like you looking and feeling sexy at any age.
I’m 41 and have had 6 kids. Iv done my best to preserve myself all these years:). I have some stretch marks but those are my battle scars. As I type this my 20 year old daughter is in another state ready to have her baby at any min. So I’m a 41 year old Grandmother 😂. I don’t feel old enough to be called “ Nana” but I think it’s really cool. Life is an interesting process for sure. My motto has always been that I wanted to “look and feel the best I personally can at all the stages” of life and forget a number. Funny thing is when you care for yourself mentally and physically you end up looking younger then you are anyway. ❤
Before Dr.Idriss I used to buy whatever I searched for “BEST..” whatever on skincare products, but to waste my money on the wrong products which weren’t good for my skin type! Now I’ve finally got “educated” and understand my skin type, I saw the difference on my skin in just days. So thank you Dr!
@@NatalieG427 It will depends on how the brand worked on it ingredients. Better read the packaging first before included a product to a routine. I remember even Vichy recommand to avoid sun exposure a weed after the end of a cure.

Told her about your channel and she said she loves you- always amazing to have my IRL doctors give kudos to my TH-cam docs!! All of this is great info. Thanks for being amazing.

I love her too but it’s a valid criticism. She sometimes recommends budget items but when it comes to specific concerns, she tends to go for higher end. Not always, but criticism is okay. It helps people improve and learn about what their audience needs!
The criticism itself is kinda valid, but I have noticed that some people kinda get nasty with it and that is a no no. Not that I don't get the frustration because I myself feel it; I personally love the way she explains things so I like watching her but then a lot of the products she recommends are kinda pricey so I am get eeeeeeeh😢 but that is just my issue. Well aging 66 yo here sharing your channel with 27 yo kiddo, she’s now very much into skin care and your channel covers so much education and hype busting. I battled severe eczema in my teens and the ONLY product available at that time was Clinique which I could barely afford. These are the good times!
Skincare can sometimes be overwhelming with so many products and price ranges available. This video not only simplifies the process but also helps us achieve our anti-aging goals without breaking the bank. 💜
My whole house uses Vanicream cleanser. I’ve turned my elderly mother on to it as well. Her face is so sensitive and this one doesn’t irritate at all. ❤
You are bad azz...period❣️ I love your straight talk and no BS. I'm thrilled I found your channel❣️ I've learned more in 2 weeks than 2 years of looking at funky, misleading folks. Thanks doc! Your skin is GORG! 🔥
You turned me onto the Vanicream vitamin c serum a few months ago and I hadn’t been able to tolerate vitamin c until trying the Vanicream. Thank you! I’m planning to give some of the others a try. Thanks for doing a budget friendly version for us!
I love using the term pro-aging over anti-aging. Pro-aging sounds more like you would do your best to ease into looking older over time, anti-aging sounds more negative and as if you are preventing everything you can to not age 😂❤
I cant thank you enough 😭 your videos helped me achieved my dream skin ❤ i hit 30 last week and my skin has never been better. Thank you so much doctor! You’re so passionate and informative. You’re the best 😘
Great video! I was using Timeless Vitamin C (20%) for almost 8 years 😊 on and off because it was too strong for my face until they came with 10% and finally I am able to use it without irritation. Since Tretinoin is too strong for my neck I started using Maelove moonlight and my neck loves it.😊
I use the term graceful aging. For my already aged, super sensitive, moisture barrier challenged, and very dry skin, I also use Vanicream’s Daily Moisturizer for the minimal ingredient list and the ceramides. I want to thank you for this video. It’s gratifying to have a derm suggest what I’ve found that works (ingredients, not necessarily brands) in my own studying and testing. I wish I’d had this video four years ago when I started this journey, but I’m glad to have it now and happy that others won’t have to spend the money, time, and upset skin that I have. Oh, and my skin can’t handle AHA’s, so I use PHA’s instead.
Thank goodness! I can’t afford 80% of what you recommend. I’m psyched for this video. I use the Vanicream Vitamin C on my sensitive, rosacea skin with no issues. I love it!
I try to catch sales/coupons and most of this stuff lasts for months. I'll have to check the vanicream vit c out as I also have rosacea-y skin, thanks for saying it works well for you.
Love your straight shooting approach, especially when it comes to affordable skin care. By the way, I haven’t had a day without sunscreen since 1978. I tell people I buy sunscreen by the gallon. Just use the damn sunscreen! 👍
Wtf! The only way I know summer time passes so fast that Shereen keeps posting every Saturday and I'm like, Gee another week passed... Btw hi Shereen!! Love youuuu❤❤
yay for pro-aging. Can you do a similar budget video that doesn't incorporate retinol for pregnant or trying to conceive women? That's one of the reasons for not using retinols.
Budget babes unite! La Roche-Posay Lipikar Wash at $1.26/oz works better than Vanicream for me. And Beauty Pie's Vit C isn't the "best" type of C and stinks, but has great ingredients and is my overall budget winner. And for sunscreen Purito had to redeem themselves so their has all the Korean fabulousness in a 2oz tube (most are 1.6oz for the same price or more.)
Great video Doc. I remember another another Derm states to save your money for the treatment product and save on things like cleaners. I like the Avene Retinal you recommend. 15:46 hello, I am so happy to have found you and I’ve recommended you to sisters and friends. I try to take notes and remember important points although that means listening to the video many times and I have only one request. When you speak quickly using terms I’m unfamiliar with I can’t understand them. I really don’t mean this to be critical, but just to let you know that for someone like me who is unfamiliar with all of the various words associated with retinol’s, for instance, it becomes difficult to understand. I have watched your video on retinol’s at least three times and because the words are printed on the screen I find that very easy to understand and I thank you for it. I really appreciate your down to earth, no nonsense approach to great skin care, and I will continue to watch in hope of educating myself further. Thank you for all that you do!

Differin Adapalene Gel .1% $15 used to need a prescription but now OTC. I used this before Tretinol .025%. Never had irritation with either. Morning routine: cleanse, vitamin c, moisturizer, sunscreen. Evening: cleanse, tretinol, moisturizer. Easy peasy! Hope this helps someone! Ive been on a skin care journey the last 4 yrs.
yay! finally a video that doesn’t put a main focus on her skincare line! no hate towards her brand at all, it’s just too expensive for me atm so it’s nice to have a video here and there that includes cheaper alternatives.
You’re makeup is so beautiful. Would you consider sharing your makeup routine ? I am in love with your lipstick and eye makeup. Thank you for this content you are saving my skin. ❤❤
This is great. It would be awesome to have other alternative brands, available internationally: avenoo, other eucerin products, loreal, la roche posay, etc
I love this video. Other than Retin A all my products are drugstore priced. Some of my favorites are La Roche Posay hydrating gentle cleanser and Dr. Brenner Vitamin C serum.
Love your videos Dr. S! Thanks for your work! I would love to see a video with info about caring for skin while breastfeeding and also wanting to incorporate anti-aging benefits (i’m 31 and have noticed the aging beginning around eyes). I have read everywhere to avoid retinols as well as retinol alternatives while nursing. Thanks!
congrats on the baby! have you seen her video on pregnancy skincare by any chance? it's been a while since i've seen it but i think that could be useful :)
Dear Dr Idriss I have binged lots of your videos and learned a lot. I would love to share them with friends and family in South America but sadly they don’t speak English. Have you considered adding closed captions in Spanish? It would greatly appreciated!
Hi Dr. Shereene! your videos are very helpful! My sister is currently pregnant and having a great skin care routine can be intimidating. Are you able to recommend a prenant skin care routine that we can try? thanks bunch!!! 🥰🥰🥰 ur channel!!!
Great work ! From the little I researched myself, it seems like Japanese companies do use high grade products and the routine matches the ones you recommended..
You have a good influence on me. I just bought a Micellar water wirh argan oil by MARCELLE CANADA and AVEENO shower gel Chamomille. I love chamomille. It smell so good and it is not too expensive. thank you!!!
Just started using vitamin C ( LAROCHE Posay) and my under eye skin felt like it was on fire 🔥. Going to take your advice and wash my face with water 💦 only before I use my sunscreen. Thanks for the tip!
I’m still repurchasing the Aveeno calm and repair serum you recommended a while back (under $30.00) No powerhouse ingredients but skin feel good Plays well with others over top
I love your channel Dr Shareen! I learn a lot from your channel about ingredients and make informed decisions when I'm shopping skincare. ❤ Some of the products you recommend are not available in Canada (ie Vanicream). It would be very helpful to include more international brands or options for Canada and Europe.. thank you for having this channel ❤️
From sunscreen, one 'budget' brand/product worth looking into is Altruist (the SPF 50 versions, obviously), at least in Europe. It's supposed to provide excellent broad spectrum protection with modern UV filters, and from what I heard, it's intentionally sold at a low price to help people use more sunscreen.
Lol thanks for being so genuine! You are gorgeous inside and out and Crack me up! Thanks so much for all your great info and for making me smile and laugh!!😊❤
Another great inexpensive vitamin C serum is No7 Radiance Serum, I think it’s 15% and it absorbs beautifully. I also buy their radiance vitamin C toner. Love those two products and that whole line, they are part of my morning routine. I use IT cosmetics confidence in a moisturizer/ night cream/ neck cream/ eye cream / cleanser as well as tretinion by prescription in the evening. No7 resurfacing peel (15% Glycolic acid) is also amazing and they always have good sales on their own website. I use that every 4th day instead of tret.
I like 'graceful aging' I don't know who's old enough to remember, but Olay, who was known as oil of Olay back, then had an ad with a tagline, something something aging gracefully. I'm gonna have to go look for it now I can't remember but yeah I think that's the best way. That's what I always think of because older women can be very attractive and valuable.
Have watched you for years and really value your insight and expertise! Have been recovering from a severe health issue, and your words of wisdom have helped me recover my skin to the point that people ask me what I do to have skin like mine. Love ❤️ this! Would love to know if you use any serums for your lashes. You are the best and even recommended that my dermatologist watch you too, lol 😆 love the Timeless vit C 20%...been using it for years with Laroche posey products 😊
Dr.I create one hundred percent pure skincare steeped in efficacy. I would be honored to have you review and test them. Kind regards and thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world. Anti aging is a promoted myth but healthy aging is authentic as you correctly elucidate.
Loved the video ❤ How about the people with oily skin? Do you recommend the same? I for example need to use water based moisturizer and oil free sunscreen. I already use the vit C and retinol from L’Oréal and works for me. But I don’t know about the other ingredients you mentioned like lactic acid and peptides 😅 would like to know what are your thoughts for oily skiners 😅 btw live in NYC and I’m 40 if that is important 😊
Thanks Dr Idriss. I’ve learned so much about the WHY behind what we need to do for our skin. It’s been a real eye opener to be encouraged to buy products based on our specific skin issues. The question I have now is where to go from here. I am 63 and lost 25 lbs this summer. I don’t have big problems with dryness or oiliness, but since losing the weight, my face looks like an ice rink that needs a zamboni. I had the basics you’d expect at my age before, but suddenly the orange peel is all over my face instead of just TZone and lines are cross crossing everywhere. 😢 I’m doing retinol, niacinamide, estrogen cream (shhhh) and peptide/ceramide moisturizers at least one sometimes 2x daily and petrolatum or zinc oxide cream slugging at night. Is there anything short of surgery that will stop my face from looking like I need to use an iron?
Timeless also does 40% off sales allll the time! The jumbo size is super affordable at 40% off, but ive had sooo many leaking issues with the packaging
I have the larger size on sale as well and it has lasted me for a long time, zero signs of oxidation (I do keep it in the fridge) haven't noticed any signs of leaking though, where does it leak for you?
@@keekeejenkins6162 I’m so glad it’s worked out for you well!! I had 3 jumbo size leak out the bottom of the airless packaging. I didn’t travel with it and kept it gently stored.
Elf came out with great sunscreens. The Invisible spf 35 is actually matte AND water resistant, great for oily skin. And the Wow Glow better for normal to dry. But people with dry skin have a TON of options at the drugstore, like the Black Girl Sunscreen spf 30-50, its great 3oz for $10-$15.
I use tretinon which is cheap. Asian sunscreen is also cheap where I live. Timeless Vit C, Aveeno gel moisturiser, Vaseline for dry days. I pay for good AHAs though. Formulation is so important to how they work.
Thank you. I have very sensitive skin in post menopause. I can't even tolerate hyaluronic acid. Ive started using the vanicream vitamin c, and my skin loves it.....the only vitamin c i can tolerate and my skin feels softer after one week. Online they claim it has 5% vitamin c.
Wow amazing video and thank you for the input and tips. Well put together video ❤❤❤❤.btw question all these creams does your product have all these cuz if I buy each of item it’s probably better to get just one product that may have everything . Thx waiting for feedback
I had a very negative reaction to the Vanicream Vit C serum. I have small bumps everywhere. The redness has finally gone down. I only used it twice. I went back to Amazon and searched the 1-star reviews and those women showed the same reaction. We may be in the minority, but I would recommend patch testing for a couple of days before diving in
It's always an investement trying skin care products for the first time. Not only money wise but time also. I aslo think we are not equal on the way our skin reacts to brands.

Morning routine: cleanse, vitamin c, moisturizer, sunscreen. Evening: cleanse, tretinol, moisturizer. Easy peasy! Hope this helps someone! Ive been on a skin care journey the last 4 yrs.
I like the term “gracefully aging, or aging gracefully”
I'm impressed with your pronunciation of "la roche-posay" 🎉
yay! finally a video that doesn’t put a main focus on her skincare line! no hate towards her brand at all, it’s just too expensive for me atm so it’s nice to have a video here and there that includes cheaper alternatives.
I use the Monsia 4 Step all natural system, skin looks great.
I’d love to see reviews of the geek & the gorgeous brand, especially the retinal. Thanks! 😊
You’re makeup is so beautiful. Would you consider sharing your makeup routine ? I am in love with your lipstick and eye makeup. Thank you for this content you are saving my skin. ❤❤
Loving Clinique Rich eye cream. Feels good and actually shows results. Minimizes fine lines around eyes. Can’t believe it but it does.
I use the Timeless Coenzyme Q10 serum and it’s great.
Félicitations pour les 500k abonné(e)s 😊 et merci évidemment pour ton contenu éducatif, drôle et simplement génialissime chaque samedi !!
Thanku for doing a more affordable option, appreciate the efforts u make to include everyone!! ❤❤❤
Love your no nonsense approach! Please review the $50 Lisa Eldridge cleanser 😅. The claims made about it are pretty unbelievable.
If you're that much of a wimp, you should use niacinamide.
I’m still repurchasing the Aveeno calm and repair serum you recommended a while back (under $30.00)
No powerhouse ingredients but skin feel good
Plays well with others over top
I love your channel Dr Shareen! I learn a lot from your channel about ingredients and make informed decisions when I'm shopping skincare. ❤
Some of the products you recommend are not available in Canada (ie Vanicream). It would be very helpful to include more international brands or options for Canada and Europe.. thank you for having this channel ❤️
do you guys have cerave in Ca? Thats another awesome gentle hydrating facewash
Yes, I use the timeless vitamin C from target
Love the affordable retinol option for neck and chest-thank you!
I like 'graceful aging'
I don't know who's old enough to remember, but Olay, who was known as oil of Olay back, then had an ad with a tagline, something something aging gracefully. I'm gonna have to go look for it now I can't remember but yeah I think that's the best way. That's what I always think of because older women can be very attractive and valuable.

I love ❤️ Vanicream *cleanser* (it's not soap) because it doesn't dry my hands out as much as a lot of cleansers I've tried.
Thank you Dr. Shereene for the affordable products!
I love your videos. They are a blast!
Girl, I have learned so much from you thank you!
Please do something on male and female hairloss.
Dr.I create one hundred percent pure skincare steeped in efficacy. I would be honored to have you review and test them. Kind regards and thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world. Anti aging is a promoted myth but healthy aging is authentic as you correctly elucidate.
Nerd Squad commenting for the algorithm. Your content is so good.
Amazing how much you have done for us all . Thankyou so much always love your vlogs ❤
I’m doing retinol, niacinamide, estrogen cream (shhhh) and peptide/ceramide moisturizers at least one sometimes 2x daily and petrolatum or zinc oxide cream slugging at night.
Is there anything short of surgery that will stop my face from looking like I need to use an iron?
YOU'RE SO PRETTY AND YOU ARE GLOWING AND BLOOMING❤
I am grateful for all the valuable information you share. Thank you!
I love your videos and how informative they are!!!!
I have a notebook just for your videos!
Love it. You’re so sweet for sharing this with us.
Thank you for the info on these products!
Would be great if you did a video on products should/shouldn’t be used during pregnancy. 😇
I use tretinon which is cheap. Asian sunscreen is also cheap where I live. Timeless Vit C, Aveeno gel moisturiser, Vaseline for dry days. I pay for good AHAs though. Formulation is so important to how they work.
I actually learned recently that you can open the L'Oreal cream 😅. Very useful for getting your full money's worth
Love your videos, so honest and charismatic! 🌸
I would love to know your thoughts on gua sha stones and if they actually work ✨
Great info! Thank you!!
So interesting. Thoughts on some of the ordinary products?
Thank you. I have very sensitive skin in post menopause. I can't even tolerate hyaluronic acid. Ive started using the vanicream vitamin c, and my skin loves it.....the only vitamin c i can tolerate and my skin feels softer after one week. Online they claim it has 5% vitamin c.
Ok give it up! What’s that nail color?! I love it!
Thank you !!! I love your videos!!! I see some many derms talking about ROC but you didn't mention any ???
Love Dr shereene idriss! Her products are so effective.
Wow amazing video and thank you for the input and tips. Well put together video ❤❤❤❤.btw question all these creams does your product have all these cuz if I buy each of item it’s probably better to get just one product that may have everything . Thx waiting for feedback
This was brilliant Shereene 👌 Loving the more affordable skincare advice and recommendations. PS you always make me laugh 😂
I like the term ‘maturing’ skin.
I aslo think we are not equal on the way our skin reacts to brands.
while it could definitely be the product itself, amazon isn’t always the safest option to buy skincare from.
