I have pretty much exactly the same routine except I use Cosrx 96 Snail Mucin serum in the morning before my vitamin C. I swear by that serum! I noticed intense improvement in texture and hyperpigmention I had as a result of pregnancy hormonal acne.
When I was 31 on a well-needed trip to FL, some female relatives in their 60s made a snarky comment to me when I headed off to the beach. I will never forget it: “going off to get some pre-cancerous rays???” I went to the beach (in the shade, as I planned...) but it kind of ruined my fun. Granted, I wasn’t as careful in my 20s and 30s living at high altitude, (I am now more careful, decades later...) but I had fun. Outdoors all the time, year-round. I agree that protection and being sensible is key, yet not to the point of avoiding life. So my advice as an “elder” is to find a way to do both. 😊
I did not know that vitamin C (plus SPF, of course!) was better to use in the morning routine. I will try to change to a retinol product instead during the night! Thanks for sharing your knowledge
I also have an issue with clogged pores as well, what product should I use in the routine along with vitamin c serum, AHA serum and tretinoin ? And how should the routine be? Thank you for educating us !
Loved the Video, the in Depth Explanation and interesting Information like 80 % of skin aging is caused by sun damage. A lot of people say Sun screen is important, but this info really shows how important it is. I also loved that u recommended multiple products and explained why they are so good. Very educational video. Gonna watch the other videos as well. Thx for your Work!!
❤. Will you please do one for 60+. I m using 0.025 tretinoin cream with Peach & Lily power cocktail lactic acid daily for more than one year now. Am I damaging my skin? I have melasma and trying to contain it by using these products daily. I always enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Everyone's skin is different. If you have been using this combination for a year without irritation, you are probably good to continue. What you want to avoid is irritation, which can contribute to aging (casually being referred to as "inflammaging" these days). If you ARE experiencing a little irritation, I'd suggest moving your AHA use to every other night to start or even alternating your tret and AHA nights. Irritation can unfortunately contribute to hyperpigmentation, so if you're trying to reduce dark spots, it's something to be mindful of. You also want to be using something day and night to combat the pigmentation. It's an all-hands-on-deck kind of thing. Just listen to YOUR skin.
If skin aging is 80% caused by sun, does that mean that diet only accounts for 20% of the aging? My SPF use has always been on point, but I’ve struggled with binge eating until my 30s and I’m worried about how it has affected my skin also.
My husband is 6 years younger than me and doesn't expose his skin to the sun, always wears hats and usually stays indoors, I'm the opposite, I love being outside (always wearing sunscreen) but I almost never wear hats or seek shade but people always assume he's older than me. He drinks a lot of soda and eats a lot of sugar-heavy foods but I don't at all, and I think that has taken an effect on both of our skins.
Thank you so much for these wonderful and very informative videos. Could you please tell me one sunscreen for the body everyday use mineral and chemical over the counter? thank you so much!
Skinceuticals is a ripoff and they oxidize quickly. My holy grail is Timeless 20% and they work just as good as the exorbitantly priced Skinceuticals. Timeless never let me down, never experienced any oxidation until I finished a bottle.
I honestly thought I was the only one who was disappointed with Skinceuticals. I felt it was so overhyped and honestly not better than something I could buy at Target. I've never tried Timeless but will give it a try, ty.🤟🏻
The advice I got is you shouldn’t use retinol while pregnant or breastfeeding. And since the the American Pediatric Association recommends breastfeeding until the age of 2, let’s say you have three kids… that’s basically a decade you can’t use it
What if you want preventative aging benefits AND to tackle blemish/acne prone with clogged pores? Can one use 2 different types of vitamin A on different nights? Or is there a one product that targets both these problems and is less irritating? I see conflicting information so I just get more confused! 🙏
I have used everything over time to lighten one large dark sunspot on my face. Nothing has worked I wonder if a deep chemical peel will be my only option.
Doc, thanks for all your recommendations but I would like to suggest to go ahead and start right off the topic specific to the product you are recommending. Unnecessary talks are tiring to watch.. thank you!

Super interesting that there’s a difference between leave on vs wash off AHA products - good tip!

I have no idea as a fellow elder why you can't both wear sunscreen and have fun?
That was my point, but sunscreen isn’t necessarily enough.
@@kristinj7173 Good point!

I'd like to know where that statistic came from because genetics play a role too...

Niacinamide serum after taking a shower at night and applying it first thing in the morning also helped me.
Which Vit C derivative is better for brightening? Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether or THD ascorbate?
I'm using retinol 1% 4 times a week for more then 1 year. I will have better results if i will use it every day? Or to switch it with tretinoin?

TIMELESS 20% made my skin red but it also made every line dissappear. It definitely works. Just a bit harsh for me. I plan to try the 10% version.
Louder!!! Timeless 20% is such a good product. I have hypersensitive and eczema-prone skin, didnt have any reaction
You are so helpful thank you!
Goes salicylic acid help with collagen production?
If I were to use tretinoin for 5 nights and Cerave exfoliating for 2 nights, when can I incorporate peptides? what if I use ALPHARET?
The advice I got is you shouldn’t use retinol while pregnant or breastfeeding. And since the the American Pediatric Association recommends breastfeeding until the age of 2, let’s say you have three kids… that’s basically a decade you can’t use it
Which would you say is best for acne prone?! Thanks!!

Great question that I also have been wondering about

Why are all the fn videos longer than an episode of friends
