Had the pleasure of flying aboard an A350 down to Amsterdam earlier this summer and back to Helsinki. That thing has some serious power! Glued my back into the seat during takeoff. And compared to other planes I've been on, 737 and MD-90, the A350 is surprisingly way less noisy.

It always amazes me how the engines roar while going down the runway but after takeoff the low frequency roar is gone and they sound like the bearings are dry and the engine could blow apart any second. Equally amazing is how the very first airplane flown by the Wright brothers is identical to this one in principle. The only difference is power and flight attendants 😬.
How about those mighty Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines … the most fuel efficient civil turbofans in operation today. As awesome sounding as these engines are … I can’t wait to hear how much quieter the UltraFan will be!
I’ve flown several times and I’ve never been on a plane thats sounded this nice. The engines aren’t that loud on the ones I’ve been on. I guess you have to be close to the engine and I don’t remember sitting right by an engine before
Flugzeuge sind hoch komplexe Verkehrsmittel. Es ist wahnsinnig viel Technik verbaut, weil sie sich in einer Umgebung bewegen in der es keine Balken gibt. Sie können bei einem Defekt nicht einfach stehen bleiben wie andere Verkehrsmittel. Trotzdem sind Flugzeuge das sicherste Verkehrmittel der Welt und das muss man sich mal auf der Zunge zergehen lassen. Glückwunsch an die Flugzeugindustrie die auf der Leistung der Ingenieure basiert.
