Effective people management is the first priority whether its a team or group. Appreciating human behaviour in the work place is a key part of that. This will make it easier to help your team perform and be effective. As will an understanding of team dynamics and characteristics.
I would add another perspective, a cultural perspective - every country/culture has there own unique approaches to management (sometime they co-exists with the points raised in this video) and some are completely opposite. It's good to point this out in the beginning, because this video seems very American in it's approach (I have seems differently when I started to work in Europe)
