- We just got the truck back from AC Car Craft after a custom exhaust install based around American Racing Headers Long Tubes. This sets the stage nicely for the upcoming mods this year on the truck. Check out the video to hear how it sounds and what our plans are for big power

I’m pretty sure most current heavy duty gas motors are pushrod. Not sure about the new Chevy 6.6. But the ram 6.4 hemi is

You need a cross over with a v8 , sounds like shit without it.

6.7 Cummins with a 5” turbo back pipe sounds pretty good. Not as good as a 5.9, but still...

Those valve covers on the crate 7.3 are reminiscent of the look of an old flat head.
I went with afe rebel exhaust. It's a dual exhaust with X pipe muffler before the tire exit. It sounds awesome

I've always been on the fence with how I feel about loud exhausts on trucks and whether or not they are ricey. On one hand, you have a vehicle that is quite slow but has been made to have a loud exhaust. On the other hand, the sound of a loud V8 is music to my ears compared to a little 4 banger sounding like a fart can. You hear this awesome V8 revving high but then realize the vehicle is barely moving. Jury is still out on this one.
As the owner 5.7 hemi truck with headers and a performance muffler I ask myself this question daily… Sounds amazing, but not fast at all 🤣
Mines a 1995 F150. 351w, long tube headers, 2.5 inch true duals, no cats, and a pair of Flowmaster super 44s. Sounds like an angry fox body mustang barreling down on ya, but then grandpa's ole f150 with a topper goes rolling by...

Definitely sounds like a big block! My ears absolutely skeeted wax all over my shoulders! That sounds brutal. Wish they would put a built supercharged version of this in a model of mustang.

You have to go in to where it says is this video kid safe and say no. Then save that setting.

I agree that it is a little loud. You can tell that engine has plenty of power. Truck takes off a bit slow which tells me it is most likely a pulling machine with the hp and tq numbers it puts down. I believe in that truck! Very cool!

man its not about getting old its just a preference, i like to hear my radio not the drone of pipes. while they do sound good its just obnoxious. i hear this shit all day every day from camaros, chargers, and various trucks that just want to hit my block and hear their pipes. doesnt matter that we cant hear our own shit in our own homes.
For your particular application, it makes sense to keep her quiet. I know i sure as shit would prefer to be relaxed while working
I agree, someone needs to make active exhaust kits for applications like this. Just a nice muffler with an electronic baffle that has a stealth mode along with straight through and a few between modes like the OEM's.

I have a 2020 with the 7.3 godzilla with an afe rebel exhaust and when I rev my truck up a few times, it will backfire pretty bad.
I can only imagine what that sounds like in tow haul mode going down a hill with 15 K behind you mine is stock and it sounds good I’m definitely gonna be doing something in the future I don’t know if I like the dual though I think dual look good on raptors I like to single on f250 and f350. Just my opinion tho. Sounds good
When changing the cat and muffler on our 1986 Chevy Caprice I ran it basically straight piped...haha sounded like this truck, only much louder... It's cool for a little while, but loud gas engines have always sounded obnoxious to me... straight piped inline 6 diesel motors don't bother me...more smooth sounding.

Debating on the 7.3L over the 6.7L. I don't tow a lot but, I will be slapping 37" tires on. I owned a 16 6.7L and loved it except for the emissions crap here in CA. Gets expensive with maintenance.

Great exhaust man with the headers/3"/ H pipe, but get rid of the flow masters. Maybe some afe round x 24" or so.

American Racing has two different size headers for the 7.3 . One is 2" , one is 1 7/8" . Any advantage to the smaller tube?

What's the drone like under load at low RPM? Highway drone? Looks like O2 sensors are gone, are you throwing a CEL or work around that?
So I guess that these headers are mid length? That’s what it looks like from the video just wandering why you didn’t go with a full length header? Hard to get? Not in stock? Couldn’t wait(like me!)? The exhaust note sounds like classic old school V8 muscle!

Not at all. If the cam is specced right itll gain torque and broaden the powerband.
You have to look at the goal of the OEM versus you. They had to cam the engine to pass emissions and durability tests plus meet mileage targets. The timing and fuel curves are not optimized completely to compensate for the average, neglectful owner. There's a lot left on the table
Beautiful job on the truck exhaust. I would like to point out that most states will NOT let an owner/shop remove any emission related components. Buyers be cautious of your state laws. I also like to mention that a muffler is always owner specific. I personally hate the "rasp" of a Flowmaster type muffler. But that is just my opinion. Up here in the salt belt of the north east we utilize stainless mufflers only. A flowmaster will last about two winters and rot through. Very jealous of your Florida weather!
