I always thought it was strange that the victory ii didn't get its speed upgraded to 3. The lore was pretty clear that the new version was designed to keep up with the imperial class. For the point cost increase speed 3 is fair.
One day Armada will rise from the ashes and be the jewel we know it is. And luxury playstyles will make metal tokens for it.
I really wish it would but in my opinion they made there weakness worse with the clonewars sets. The buy in price was always stupid high and now it's twice as high. Yes you get more ships but most people won't pay over 100 dollars just to try a game. I bought the original core set back in the day for 70 and I thought that was too much but I wanted to play with my friends.
@@isthisit781 I agree. I now have a large Imperial and Rebel fleets (22,24 ships respectively) but I bought them used or on store clearance sales. Especially in the era of 3D printing it's unrealistic to expect players to drop that type of money for a few bits of plastic.
@@isthisit781 part of the higher price is that they are pre painted. If they dropped that it could cut cost by 50%

Absolutely love these new breakdowns of these okder ships. It's great to spread new inspiration and tactics that we may not have correlated with older ships using new upgrades, against newer ships. This also brings back interest to play older ships or for new players to pick them up.

Not only is it iconic, it still is a versatile ship that can be used in a number of ways. I usually always try to take one in an imperial fleet.

I love the Vics, usually run them in pairs. The key is the titles, build your ship around them. Harrow can be run as a bigger Gladiator, slower but tougher, and Tua with ECMs makes it even better. Warlord with H9s turns it into an auto hitting flak machine and a brutal carrier.
Finally the time has come
I've always loved the design of the VSD and even if they kinda suck I always try to make them fit in my list. With more competitive armada that is quite hard to do, but they hold up in my casual games quite well!
I love running 2 Victory II's with the Chimaera. They make decent carriers.

Those options for the Victory are definitely very interesting. I'm going to test them to see which one best suits my style of play. Very good work.
I would love to see some Republic Victories. Sadly I have not had great luck with them but I love the ship it's self. Republic markings and coloring on one would probably look awesome.

Loved the victory when I first started out of the core set but I’m seeing what I can build without it for now. Might have to come back to it in the future

Victory for me a one hell of a ship, especially with minister Tua and ecm making it a rather good flag ship for my triple arquintes build
I got my first one from the core set, and didn't think much of it. But since then, I've come to respect it. I just built a fleet called the victory sandwich which uses ship to ship obstruction as a strength and I can't wait to try it out.
New to armada, been playing for about a month, I've had some trouble running the Vic in the games I've played so far. Love the channel I've learned a ton!
I usually run vic 2s and keep em at medium range as best I can. Harrow really helps with manueverability. It's been quite a while since I played but I love the Vic's. I'm not sure how many ships you have but the upgrade card pack seems to be a good bang for buck upgrade. I bought a few ships mainly just to get certain cards and that sucks. I think I ran linked turbolaser turrets on the victories because I tend to get blanks so the reroll is nice. My biggest issue with the victories is overestimating there durability. They're pretty tough but there still a medium ship and 8 health doesn't last long in the middle of the battle, that's why I stopped using the Victory 1, it could put out good damage but the opponent could do it right back.
I was able to take down this ship with two nebulous and it was crazy also love the armada vids and keep up the amazing work👍

Love the victory, I’ve ran a 3 victory fleet, that was fun the only draw back is speed but because they were all slow and I positioned them right they weren’t flanked

Ill probably be getting an VSD very soon as im just getting into the game soon so will probably split a starter set with a friend. but I had a game in it and it felt very slow but could take a beating from what I remember
I really like partnering my dominator v1 star destroyer with a interdictor that has projection experts. Keep fuelling the death spear!

I love victory star destroyers,what other ship can take advantage disposable capacitors in such a grand way? Vic ll, natural three red and three blue,then add d-caps,spinal armament,use a concentrate fire command,that's four red and four blue dice at long range and that's not counting other card effects like ion cannons,and intel officer or Rommodi. It's a budget star-destroyer that can punch above It's weight.Its down sides are no defensive retrofit and it's slow,but throw two of these bad-boys in a list you easily bully a single large ship and still have room for other things in your fleet.In my opinion they might be the GOAT of medium ships in a fight.

I brought triple vic 1 and an isd (cymoon)to the lvo relaxed. Ran Vader as my commander and exracks on all the vics, take evasive, gunnery teams and vanto on the isd. Did horribly but it was a blast to run
I’m more of a new player I want to like the victory but I haven’t had much luck with the way I play them, other that that love the design and I just really want them to work
I had an idea to run a Victory I as a close-range battering ram or carrier without Harrow in a fleet with Moff Jerjerrod. Obviously, it wouldn't be able to take Engine Techs, but it might not need that upgrade with JJ. It's not necessarily the most optimal, but I think it's a fun idea that could synthesize with the rest of the fleet.
I love using Dominator title and disposable capacitors with VSD. Risky but "Risk has always been an inescapable part of warfare" :)
Victories are my favorite ship. They're not the most effective, but they look damn cool. I like running two of them. They can be pretty tough. Harrow is a life saver.
They should definitely make new variants of the victory kinda like the cymoon and kuat she’s a cool medium and definitely needs some love

Been playing VIC IIs with Sloane & expanded hangers, SW-7s turn blues into auto hits! I want two more I want too run 4 of them!
Finally got my light cruiser. Now I just need a venator. Personally I don't run a victory. I've got a new build featuring an interdictor with shield projectors, a couple small ships and an ISD.

I do like the victory, it always seems to go down so fast. Maybe these ideas will help.
Maybe an off topic question but: how to build a fleet with tie phantoms in 2022. How to build a fleet that is effective , or a niche build. But i would like to use them but dont know how. Many people say they are not that good. Am i missing something?
My only thought is and I’m a noob so maybe I’m just silly but why not use external racks over the expanded launchers on the harrow build ? I doubt the ship will live long with the pain it can dish out , I’d probably say you’d see one good volley before it goes down so why not save the points on external racks over expanded launcher considering its longevity ?
Maybe I’m just being overly sure it’ll die but with lack of defensive buffs it feels like it might. I suppose you could alter that with commander choices but just my first thought on that.
I tried way too hard to make these things work when I first got into the game. I would almost always rather have an ISD, even if it means my opponent has more activations. Harrow made this ship at least playable.
Maybe we'll see victory star destroyers in the bad batch sense it will fit the time period.
I like it, but it rarely makes it into my fleet. Unless I am playing a quick game with my son, then we use only the core set.

Is this game being phased out? I just got a core X-Wing game and heard another company took it over so I'm concerned about buying either of these if they are not going to be in retail much longer.

Not sure if I've ever ran a victory, even though I have 3 lol.
The whole thing is still overpriced. Even Harrow is too expensive as its a card to correct the error of power creep that has made the VSD not worth bringing but costs points on an overpriced ship. This would have been a good time to introduce Harrow as a upgrade with negative point cost to correct for how abysmal the VSD moves and its extremely high cost.
Victory might be cool but an SSD is cooler
First :) Used Lira Wessex in our RitR campaign to avoid some crits, which was useful
The fact FFG had to release MULTIPLE upgrade cards to fix this boat tells you how bad it is.
It's too expensive and slow. I needs a total rework.
I hope it wont break down.
