Don't forget to check the video description for any minor errors or clarifications that didn't require a reshoot of the video.

Of course, with 1.5, evade at close range is now a re-roll, as well.
Some of this didn't make sense to me until I realized that Contain didn't eliminate the crit die from the attack pool, just the standard crit effect. Now the trigger on those black crit cards like APT are clearer to me.

Yup! Quite a few videos need updating, but most of this information still works.
Great! Glad this video helped out. :)

Question: If you Redirect from a hull zone with no shields to a hull zone with shields, can you still choose what amount gets through to the hull and what amount gets redirected? I fired at my opponent's rear hull zone, which had no shields, and did two damage. He redirected only one damage (he had two shields on this hull zone) and took one to the hull. I know that you cannot redirect from a hull with shields to a hull without shields, which is essentially not allowing you to choose to let damage go to the hull in lieu of using available shields. I can see this same argument being used for this situation, but I wanted to get your take on it. I am our local TO and Marshall, so I want to make sure I get this right. Thanks.

As you mention, you cannot redirect any damage to a hull zone with NO shields (Although you can still choose to use a redirect and choose that hullzone if you wanted.)
When you choose to redirect, you can choose how much damage is moved to the chosen hull zone. Meaning if the rear zone, in the case you mention, has no shields remaining the defender could move 1 or 2 damage to the hull zone that was chosen by redirect. Meaning he could leave a single shield left on the side if he desires.
      Does this answer your question?

Damage cards are drawn when a ship suffers any damage to its hull value.
If an attack pool has a critical symbol showing and the standard critical effect is chosen, then the 1st damage taken to a ships hull (if any) is a damage card drawn from the top of the damage deck and placed face up in front of the ship card of the ship that received the damage.
If there were no critical symbols showing, or otherwise unable to resolve a critical effect, the card is instead drawn and placed face down.
