    Missed opportunity: In The Clone Wars, there should’ve been an episode where Anakin and Obiwan board a new Victory or Imperator Star Destroyer to fight against the separatists. Anakin would say that he likes the new ships and look forward to seeing more of them in action.

    The Victory Class Star Destroyer is by far my favorite ship in Star Wars while it’s not as effective of a carrier as a Venator or as destructive as an ISD it’s a ship that in the lore helped shape the Imperial military.

A good trilogy of stories along with the Lando Calrissian ones written a few years later(some of that material made it into the Solo movie).

    If when Ahsoka went to Mandalore to take it back from Maul & Crimson Dawn during the last arc of Season 7 of The Clone Wars, they had made her ship be one of the early production Victory-One Class Star Destroyers. Or even an Imperator-Class if they wanted, but no. Instead we get yet another plain jane Venator-Class.

    I wrote a big comment on victory recently but I'll say it here:
    Victory is the medium between ISD and corvettes. Empire was pretty retarded to force more ISDs instead for making more corvettes and victories. Their empire is millions of worlds. If your world is patrolled every day or a week, that would put down crime. If your world is visitied by an ISD once a month its countering crime exactly how? ISDs didnt glass the cities on a whim so there is that. Power of fear? I would say power of stupidity. Very lifelike I guess

    One thing, and one of the reason's I've never liked the character of Grand Admiral Thrawn - he's an Admiral, and yet the only forces he assembled were reminense of the Imperial forces left over from the Battle of Endor.
    Where were his forces, he's an Admiral, he should have had several fleets under him. And don't give me the "He's an administrator so he won't have any ships."
    No, that's not true. He would have at least one or two ships under him. He always was a B.S. character.

    • @ImperialsExplained
      @ImperialsExplained  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The characters Thrawn in both Canon and Legends stories were not present when the Empire fell at the battle of Endor because in Canon, Star Wars Rebels he was banished by the Purrgil to an entirely different galaxy and stranded there. Only to return in the Ashoka series.
      Secondly, in the old Legends story, Thrawn had been tasked to the Unknown Regions by Palpatine himself on a mission to gather intelligence any emerging threats to the Empire. While in the unknown Regions, he was unaware of the Empire's defeat until after the Battle of Endor.
      This is the reason why in both stories, he returns with the 7th Seventh fleet and galvanizes the imperial remnants to attack the New Republic.

    I love how you give the best example of why it's called a star destroyer and not that lame retcon of "ships capable of destroying entire star systems with their heavy firepower."
    But that they have a tiny star that they destroy over time to run the ship. Like sail, steam, or nuclear power. Star Destroyer is how they are powered.
    How many ISD's and a SUPER ISD where at the battle of Hoth. And they had issues with one base. "ships capable of destroying entire star systems with their heavy firepower." 🥱

    • @QuantumNova
      @QuantumNova 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that's insane. Hoth's planetary shield was crazy strong. I think many fans overlook that. The Super Star Destroyer would just tickle the shields for weeks if not months, and get nowhere lol. Perfect time for the AT-AT ground assault.
