I understand that Jerry is the go to commander for this ship, but I have a lot of fun and success putting Sloane on board and using it as a carrier. Activating six squadrons a round is brutal. I normally put "take evasive action" on the command prototype to solve the turning issue.

@@joshuajordan3507 "Activating six squadrons a round is brutal." There is not reason at all to use a SSD for that. A ISD can do that for half the points and a quasar for 1/4.
My favourite is Piett along with the take evasive action that gives nav clicks and Wulf Yularen.
@@metalplayer1111 correct but the trick is to use those sloane squadrons to strip the defenses off of a target and then be able to swing with quite literally the biggest attack in the game on a target with almost or no defenses. The SSD is the only ship able to put out that much flak and still be able to shoot at ships on the same turn twice with more dice than some fleets so there is synergy and you can get more than 6
Even if the SSD is waaay smaller than it's canon size, I'm glad it's done so for the benefit of making it playable. That could open up similar ships such as Lucrehulk or Malevolent.
The ships are all scaled differently so as long as a ship FEELS like is should them it will be fine. The SSD is just big enough to feel like a truly giant ship and almost every ship besides home one feels right.

You got Jerjerrod backwards, he gives you yaw "II" at the FIRST joint, otherwise he would be useless with the Aquitens, which is the ship he comes with.
My absolute favorite ship in universe. Model is beautiful and one of the best in the Armada line.

I think a decimator breakdown could be fun, as well as useful for newer players to see the power of them.

I've had some success with the SSD. One tournament victory, and one 4th place (only 2 points behind 1st!). I always get Piett, though. Jerry is nice, but with the way the SSD is moved it's easy to overshoot. Modest Piett + Token is almost always enough, and you're not draining your shields.
I never take the Command Prototype, though. You're better off taking an ISD 2 with the Chimera title - basically the same ship, 95 points cheaper.
Piett + Beck + Ravager + Comms Net combo is brutal. You're pretty much guaranteed 3 dials in 3 turns, and 2 dials + a token in other 3 turns.
I've had success with Command Prototype, via using the fleet commands and piles of tokens from executor and officer build.
My rampage was cut short because of a Dodona APT and I didn't have DCO lol
That was a painful lessen learned.
But I do love Piett on the SSD, gives a lot of versatility.

I've battled against two SSD lists. The first one was my opponent's first match with an SSD and he forgot that he had THREE attacks a turn, and he got himself stuck early which gave me the win. The second was a veteran player who had won some small tournaments with the SSD and he forgot the VERY particular firing order he needed to do. An effective Raddus bomb on my part took advantage of the mistake and it gave me another win.
It's a big ship with a lot of options and rules. Bring a written list of EVERYTHING you have to remember, and put it right next to your ship card!!!

The scale for xwing on this ship would be quite large, yeah?
it would never work in x wing
scaled to the GR-75 Transport in x-wing, the SSD would be ~approx~ 160 feet (48.7m) long
scaled to the Armada ISD, the SSD should be ~approx~ 7.9 feet (2.4m) long
an ISD scaled to the Armada SSD would be ~approx~ 2 inches (5.08cm) long
Hey Crabbok, how are Shriv and Vader boarding parties balanced with each other? Shriv is more expensive but worse, and Vader is cheaper and better I don’t get it.
Vader's better because its Darth Vader. That's the only way it makes sense
Darth Vader has a very high opportunity cost. If you take Vader as a Boarding Team you cant take one of the two Vader Starfighter Aces, Vader as a Commander or Vader as a Officer, all of which are good.
Just imagine if it was actually at scale.

If everything was at scale, a lot of the ships would be either really massive or very tiny
