    Awesome setup. I built a garage gym 8 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Home gym is the best gym.

    Ive been using my weider machine for a while now and it cost $600 from Sears. I love it to death. Only thing new I bought were some bowflex dumbbells, a curl bar, a kettlebell, and an adjustable bench.

    You also need to take the residual value into account. You bought quality equipment. It will last almost forever. With some minor care it will never break. It will also never go “out of fashion”. That means if you ever decide to sell it again you will get a big chunk of your investment back.
    People paying the 120 bucks a months for years are getting zero back.

    • @ryanpadillafitness
      @ryanpadillafitness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a great point. This stuff definitely holds its value. $120 a month for a crowded gym is a waste of time and money.

    The cost justification isn’t really great. It’s more of a personal reason to have a home gym.

      Saving time is way more valuable than thousands of dollars … plus:
      - no occupied devices
      - peace and quiet
      - the possibility to use several devices at the same time
      After having my own home gym, I will never go back to the gym. Impossible.

    Great video. I’m researching the equipment that I want to get. You have way more than I’ll ever need, as I’m a cyclist, but I do really enjoy strength training as well. Glad you mentioned about leg workouts as I want to make sure my legs stay in good shape, and want some of those extra options for leg workouts.
    I mainly want a squat and bench rack, but I also want the cables.
    I’ve looked at other options which I found a decent setup from Lifefitness, but I’d still need to get a squat/bench rack.

    So close to having a functional trainer.
    (Just need the vertical slide and pulleys)
    I’ve been pondering my future setup for some months now.😊
    Started with the idea of going iso (plateloaded), but love my barbell bench.
    I’m in Hungary- limited options.
    Was considering Powertec rack, but found out Rogue ships here as well. (A bit more $)
    Plus side to Powertec I can add leg press, preacher curl, etc to the bench.
    (Would think with the Lego nature of a rack it would do this and more)
    Anyway, cool video - congrats on starting your channel, brother.

    Nice gym. I went with Rep Fitness PR4000 and dual Athena cable system due to half size garage. This weekend ordered a weight tree on wheels too that holds two barbells as well. I'm curious how you or plan to store dip station, spotter arms, cable attachments etc? My gym is about a month old and now focusing on organization. I'll probably buy metal peg board.

    His explanation about buying new vs used is inaccurate. Used Rogue does retain value well, but there’s a lot to find on fb marketplace. Not only do you skip taxes, but also shipping which is hefty with weight equipment. Either he didn’t do his research or he just wants to justify why he bought new. He may also just have wanted super specific equipment. Great gym either way! Thanks for showing us around.

    • @ryanpadillafitness

      Where I live it seems like everyone just bought the cheapest equipment possible. Or maybe some bought nice but let it rust. I’m likely not going the new route but I recon it’s going to take a long time to build up a decent setup just from Facebook and garage sales around me.

    • @tinkthestrange
      @tinkthestrange 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaelderenne9838lots of hassle depending on where you live: people don’t respond, respond and refuse to give you an address and then complain that you didn’t show up, try to change the price, say they have an emergency so they can’t meet you and then mark it as sold, have you drive almost to the meeting place and say oh I can’t make it. All this has happened to me in the last year trying to get various items. Maybe the people around you don’t suck, but it’s like a second job where I am to buy secondhand. Not to mention they want more than brand new on sale.
