I found these and they seem amazing, finally someone on YT shows them

I only really use a couple out of my set and still have to use some additional adapters. My only gripe is that the rubber compound could be just a bit more flexible. My biggest issue is with Makita - every Makita tool I own has a different size dust port!

I saw these before from a different maker but nice to see your take on them! You should look to use quick release power connectors too then you can have power and extraction on one cordset similar to festool

Hey man, greetings from Canada. Any issues with static shock when using the orbital sander with the hose? Looking at picking up one of these kits to use with a big shopvac/cyclone separators. Apparently, some are getting zapped from the static build up if the system isn't grounded. Wondering if this is a bunch of hype or if its worth spending a bit more for a anti static hose? Much appreciated

      Hello!!!
I havent had any static issues.
Sean also uses the CTS hoses all the time, lots of hours per day, and hes never had a problem im pretty sure.!!

Looks like you can also get a set of connectors only. Do you know whether they fit the standard Makita hose?

I have similar setup but found a wire washing line style setup above bench with oversized carabiners on perfect for suspending cables and hoses.

Nice one! That's a good idea!
I did also play with the idea of making a bulkhead unit above the bench for hanging hoses and my airline, also maybe a large led panel light under it and possibly small amount of tool storage. All ideas for the future though.

I have something like that (but using copper pipe instead of wire rope) in my old shop. I’m gradually moving into my new workshop. I’ve already got a 1200 x 1200 LED set up (made from 4 off 600 x 600 panels) on a ceiling-mounted rail system so that I can move it across the workshop where I might need it. Alongside that I have a similar thing for a suspended 4 x 13amp extension block. I have also got air outlet one side and, via a branch and hose within conduit, an air outlet the other side. My big machines are all on castors so that I can move them into the centre of the shop so that when I’m planing a long piece or reading a long piece, I have room infeed and outfeed. I bought second hand a mains electric lifting table and put that on a torsion box with HD castors. That set up is now a combined infeed and outfeed table for all the different machines - each at different heights; I just wheel it around and lift or lower as needed. That certainly saves me having to carry or lift heavy chunks of timber.
My workbench is 2500 x 1000 with a 100mm solid ash worktop. I need to get a combined power and extraction system overhead to allow me to use hand electric equipment efficiently. I have been looking at hinged booms and your kind of system. What I want is to have no power or extractor cable flopping around; I think the boom with a hook at the end will allow me to work anywhere on the workbench with minimal cable and hose lying around (several examples of this on YT). I’d be very interested to read how you have dealt with that problem; if you could have self-rewinding cable and extraction hose (as you can get for air hose), that would be perfect but I haven’t found any. If you’ve solved the problem then your wire rope and carabiners have the great advantage of simplicity.
I have some stuff from CTS. Nice people to deal with and excellent quality stuff. The problem is having different shapes and sizes of ports on different machines. Okay, Festool have simplified for their machines but I don’t want Festool for every tool because I have other Makita , Bosch, Trend etc. that are good machines and much less to buy.

Why don't you just modify your bench to accept the larger end (50mm)? Then it can stay flush when not inserted and a bit more compatible for other hoses also if you wanted a larger hose you wouldn't be restricting the airflow to it

I do like the idea of modifying the bench, not sure if I'd have enough depth below the the worktop itself but it would solve that pretty. I don't have a problem with the smaller hose, if anything smaller hoses give better suction I find 👍

@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop yeah that do and will be ok upto 4m but can lose static pressure if to much resistance
