For the Blum hinge drill jig, why not drill the two screw holes first? Then use screws to temporarily attach the jig to the part. Drill the larger hole last and remove the screws holding the jig to the part. This would require no design change to the jig. Only a change in process.
That’s a pretty good idea… if you’re doing more than a few it might be annoying putting the screws in and out multiple times but absolutely worth it for the accuracy. I’d rather spend an additional minute or two doing that than pay 300 damn doll hairs for a jig I’m going to use once or twice.

I learned this as a broad concept years ago at a ShopBot workshop, it the tool won’t make the thing, use the tool to make a jig or template to make the thing. This goes for 3d printers, CNC, and laser cutters. Probably other things as well. Great video BTW.
I saw a video once where a guy showed this exactly. He did 3 boxes with a single power tool and hand tools… He started with only a bandsaw, he showed how to make jigs to get a bunch of versatility out of the bandsaw and made box 1. He then used only a circular saw, just a plain skil saw and made box 2 using a few creative jigs made with hand tools and the circular saw. Lastly he made the final box using only a power drill and hand tools. Three different boxes using a single power tool each, and each tool made its own jigs. It was probably the most inspiring video I ever saw and I use that wisdom to this day. At the end, he used all three tools to make another box and showed that it came out the same, it just saved a bit of time. 3D printing is the next evolution in a tradition that goes back forever! I love it… and I love seeing old school woodworkers.. usually an old guy with a fluffy mustache and a leather apron and they pull out a 3D printed jig of some kind and I’m like “hell yeah.” because I love to see old traditional people who can embrace something new. But I guess it makes sense because most makers love tools and a printer is just another tool. Great examples are John Heizs, Pask Makes, and Izzy Swan… those guys are the best at making cool jigs, and innovative ideas.
You could add 'ears' on the Blum hinge drill jig so it won't move between the 35mm hole and the screw holes. Then you just release the 35mm bit from the drill and drill the screw hole before you release the clamps holding the jig to the door. Just a suggestion. I haven't tried it.

He put a ton of work into designing, 3D modeling, prototyping, testing, remodeling, printing, etc. the time and materials add up. It’s a bit ridiculous to expect people to do days or weeks of work for free. 2. This is inspiration, you’re more than welcome to make your own versions to suit your needs, he’s just showing how he solved these problems for himself and he’s offering us an option if we’re interested. There are a handful of free options for 3D modeling and there’s nothing stopping you from putting in the work. 3. The most important to me personally is this… the way I see it, I’d much rather pay a face I “know” and know where my money is going than give more money to big corporations. Personally, I’d much rather pay Alex 10 bucks than pay some big corporation 5… especially when I’m printing the part so I know where the money is going, and I know that someone wasn’t mistreated to get what I want. It’s the transparency, and community aspects that I like. I’m happy to pay a fellow maker, I enjoy printing and making stuff too, and I have a good idea of how much waste, pollution, etc. was involved in getting me what I want. If you look at it that way, it feels much more justifiable and personally I feel good about purchases like that. Sometimes I order stuff from Amazon and when I open the packaging I think “Damn.. this was probably made in a sweat shop, shipped on a big disgusting cargo ship dumping oil in the sea and smoke in the air… some poor overworked asshole at Amazon probably boxed this half awake with a full bladder, and then some miserable driver delivered this after 200 others in 100 degree Florida swampy heat for minimal pay.” and then I kinda feel like shit for ordering something I probably didn’t even need that much. Yknow? This way, I pay a clever Scandinavian dude, I download a digital file, and do the “labor” myself. I feel much better about that scenario. Stop complaining about someone offering an option to pay for their hard work. He’s just displaying his thought process and problem solving and saying “If you have the same problem, I have a solution you can buy if you want.” which more than fair. P.S. Part of this comment came from a reply I left to someone else. I just wanted to elaborate in a regular comment because the whiny comments are ridiculous.

I’m not sure why people are complaining that he sells things. Duh! If you don’t want to buy them, don’t. But you can watch the video, glean lots of good ideas for free and do exactly what he did: figure out how to solve real world problems by going through an iterative design process.
I've heard people say that "A carpenter is only as good as his jigs."... and/or "The better the jigs/tools, the better the carpenter.". Having the right jigs/tools and taking the time to make them can greatly increase the quality of work, and without sacrificing quality it can increase the speed/efficiency of a carpenter.
one should check the shrinkage of the filament with a test print of that size before making thos marking tools. even if it's only 0,5% - at 200 mm it will be 1mm off already.
I don’t even want to know how long this took… lol People seem to think 3D printing and modeling is magic or something or they think “he did it with a computer” which somehow makes it less valuable in their eyes… but this is a TON of work… R&D, getting the files reliable enough to work well on most printers, getting the tolerances right so they fit together tight enough to be a reliable tool but not so tight they stick or break. Damn. I’m definitely gonna buy a few… I tried making my own router templates out of mdf and hardboard and they suck.. this is so much better. Have a Scandinavian do the engineering so I can pay a little money to benefit from the efficiency. That just feels right for some reason… hahaha Great job again!
I guess you can also color code the different diameter drill guides or whatever guides, so that you won’t get confused which set of marks you’re using. Just print the first layer in different colors.

Try and use two materials that dont stick together for supports like if u print in pla use petg for the support interface and you can have the top Z distance 0mm this forks the same for asa and abs with hips
You can make one tool (attachment for router) for the radius, just setting radius with a knob to set the trajectory (no need in templates). Templates are too basic and require too many plastic and space. Just a simplify idea for you. Anyway you did a lot of great job.

Im considering purchasing the P1S without the AMS and using it with an Active Dryer to feed the filaments. I recall that some time ago, several users reported issues with layer shifting after performing a manual colour swap. I would be great if you could confirm if you have encountered any issues when manually swapping filament colours. cheers

You printed those THICK ass boys solid! I usualy print mine 5mm thick, with some infill! Just enough for the bearing to have something to ride on. But I see them almost as single use since I do radius once or twice a year! I love the idea of having a base and interchangable radius though!
I have a comment for your dust cover for the small router. I think it might be a bit more difficult but Festool has one for the of1010 that turns with the blade. I think if you would add that you would also have less issues

He kinda mentions it all the time in the adds for Squarespace "its were i sell my....". He even shows examples where there is a price tag 😅 and of course nothing is stopping you from drawing this up in a cad software and printing it for yourself if you dont want to pay for the files 😊

Every time I watch you're videos, every time I'm amazed at what you do. Absolutely love your designs, both interior and 3D ones. I am also passionate about DIY work, 3D jigs, etc... Wish I'd have a friend like that in real life :D

When I was installing cabinets in my basement, I printed jigs for the drawr and door pull holes, and for adjustable shelves inside of them.
That was epic, loved the marking gauges with text! That is soo cool. Nice work and nice work on the experiements!

the track saw clamp jigs are great, always struggle with that with other jigs!

Contrast that with shop nation, who straight up says he charges for his files, and admits it looks like he’s charging a lot. He follows this up with justifications why it’s worth the cost.

True, but also the video is a demonstration of what you can do yourself, by designing and 3D printing tools instead of buying them. Buying his designs are optional

But the way I see it, I’d much rather pay a face I “know” and know where my money is going than give more money to big corporations.
Personally, I’d much rather pay Alex 10 bucks than pay some big corporation 5… especially when I’m printing the part so I know where the money is going, and I know that someone wasn’t mistreated to get what I want. It’s the transparency, and community aspects that I like.
I’m happy to pay a fellow maker, I enjoy printing and making stuff too, and I have a good idea of how much waste, pollution, etc. was involved in getting me what I want.
If you look at it that way, it feels much more justifiable and personally I feel good about purchases like that. Sometimes I order stuff from Amazon and when I open the packaging I think “Damn.. this was probably made in a sweat shop, shipped on a big disgusting cargo ship dumping oil in the sea and smoke in the air… some poor overworked asshole at Amazon probably boxed this half awake with a full bladder, and then some miserable driver delivered this after 200 others in 100 degree Florida swampy heat for minimal pay.” and then I kinda feel like shit for ordering something I probably didn’t even need that much. Yknow?
This way, I pay a clever Scandinavian dude, I download a digital file, and do the “labor” myself. I feel much better about that scenario.

Not a single mention that these plans are for sale. He just mentions they’re available for download but these plans are for sale. The distinction matters as it sounds like they’re for free.

100% agree 👍 this dude does this with all of his videos. He never mentions you have to pay for his stuff. He talks trash about other products for costing money, and then “forgets” to mention he’s doing the exact same thing
He kinda mentions it all the time in the adds for Squarespace "its were i sell my....". He even shows examples where there is a price tag 😅 and of course nothing is stopping you from drawing this up in a cad software and printing it for yourself if you dont want to pay for the files 😊
And if that wasnt enough, the word "shop" is even part of the adress

I find myself wondering about how you start the process of creating a jig/template, such as the one for the router. For example, where do you begin?
