    Did you install base shifter bushing upgrade and cable linkage bushing upgrade, stock shifter is weighted works better too the 3 makes it right

      No I just did the short shifter adapter. I was debating on the other stuff but decided to hold off. The stock shifter wasn’t terrible it just didn’t feel good in my hand. I have a shift know that’s similar to the one I put on this in my mustang so it just feels similar

    It works on civic 2006 with 5 speed? Have you the link of amazon?

    The lock nut is suppose to be turned counter clockwise to tighten on to shift knob

    • @planetstang1143
      @planetstang1143  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are definitely right. Thankfully this shift knob is cheap so tightening it without the lock but won’t do any damage. There is a separate piece inside the shift knob to prevent “over tightening” but you are correct. I did have to tweak the nut a little bit, just didn’t get it on camera!

      I enjoy having the sequence sideways anyway😅 people believe me when I say... yeah its weird/hard to get used to shifting like that.... and they go........🤔🤣

    I got it and it was so frustrating putting it on, after I felt absolutely no difference but it make the shifting more rough and ragged. Better without it off based off my experience sadly.

      Damn man, I’m really sorry to hear that! It could potentially be a quality control issue.... but everyone’s taste is different. I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but it’s always great to hear feedback!

      Hopefully I can get the hybrid racing shifter for my car someday! I just got it a few weeks ago and I love these kind of mods!

      Congrats man! The mod bug is very addicting (as you can see with the mustang)! I hope everything works out for you👌🏻

    How is it a year later? I've heard of different adapters putting a hole in the plastic housing. I bought the same vms but haven't installed it yet.

      I actually ended up selling the car to get the truck but the shifter felt great even on the day I sold it!

    • @marcoscg930
      @marcoscg930 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah they dont do a hole, the video of the dude that had a hole is because he had a 9th gen civic and he installed the 8th gen kit, so it wasnt supposed to fit his car and thats why it made a hole

    What’s the different between the adapter and an actual kit ?

    • @KtuluLeaderRise
      @KtuluLeaderRise 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like the buddy club shirt shifter

    • @planetstang1143
      @planetstang1143  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The adapter is just a small piece that just shortens the throw of the stock shifter. If you get an actual kit you’ll get the benefits of tighter shifts, shorter throws, and less slop. The adapter worked great for me, but it just depends on what you’re looking to get out of it👍🏻

    • @LuisFlores-bq5eo
      @LuisFlores-bq5eo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The adapter gives like a 22 percent throw reduction and the buddy is like 30 something percent reduction. Don't quote me on the numbers im freestylin

    5:48 ... damn it bro my linkage is not like yours... like how you were able to just lift the linkage and pop it in and clip the clip... my linkage... the joint socket hole is at 9 oclock..... and not 12 oclock/ strait at the shifter like yours. So I had to TWIST it before I clicked them together... and now the rod has torque on it all the time...... geyyh!

    • @planetstang1143
      @planetstang1143  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh shit! This is actually the first time I’ve ever worked on a Honda or done a part like this. I’m not sure why yours was different. Maybe you had a higher trim level than I did so they used better stuff? Hopefully it all works out!

      @@planetstang1143 thanks for the response man! Got her fingered out! I had to go up in the engine bay and flip the tranny linkage once over and that straightened her out in the car!🖖
