Danny, I own a 2006 Honda Civic, and I’ve been watching every one of your videos to learn how to maintain and upgrade my car. I truly appreciate the invaluable education you provide. Thank you so much!
You helped me out so much by giving full details and from start to finish. I was so stuck trying to figure out the passenger airbag sensor going back in. Thank you
Thanks for another great video, Danny! I've been needing to install the backup camera that came with my radio in my '06 Civic for a long time now. Seeing how you routed the camera wire from the back of the vehicle to the radio was extremely helpful!
whoever did my install (I just bought the car), didn't think about the liscense plate. Not only bad placement but camera doesn't even work. Thanks for the video.
Hi Danny, I found your TH-cam a few days ago as I have a 2008 Civic EX as well. I've been looking to upgrading the components and wanted to say thank you for your videos! They are verry detailed and help give me the confidence to perform these upgrades and maintenance on my civic. I feel like I can fall in love with my car again!
Wow, that was amazing. I installed my first Desaita in Hawaii in April, 2021. I sold the car when I left Hawaii. Bought the same gen car, but different year. I bought the part again, because I enjoyed having the Desaita in the island. I just bought the back up camera, because I was afraid to install it back than. This gives me motivation to install it. Thank you so much. Unfortunately, I gotta buy a drill. Never own one before lol. My English is kind of bad, sorry.
@@dannysdiygarage I had to use a 1/2" bit, 3/8" was too small. Your video helped me a ton! Took me a while to do properly and neatly, but turned out great. Thanks!
I have the same/ very similar headunit installed by previous owner. I cannot find the reverse lead wire it isn’t labelled that could it be labelled a different name?
Those types of cameras are $10 on eBay. I didn't feel there was a safe place to mount mine, so I used a license plate type camera that goes over the license plate. From there I used a 7/16" drill bit to drill a hole through the trunk, a rubber grommet to seal it, and ran the wire that way. I also cut one end of the grommet so that I could run the two cables through the hole first, then the wires from the cable ends through the grommet.
Mine is not working. I tried 2 different cameras. 1 shows the camera view going up untill is disappears and then is goes blank. And yes I did connect to the revers power and made sure to ground. Also up front it’s plugged in and signal wire is together. Both cameras are 1080p.
For some odd reason everytime i shift into reverse i go into a black screen with a No signal display? It only seems to work when i physically go into the Aux app ? Please help really frustrated!!
Nice video. I am unable to take off the cover of my trunk to route the wire. I wish if you can make short video on that. I also noticed that you switched your multimedia player from Idoing to Dasaita , was there a reason for doing that. I am planning to buy multimedia player but getting scared looking at Amazon customers reviews all brands. Thanks.
Dasaita offered me a unit to review, I own two Civics, the installation and review of Dasaita video on my channel, both units work well, I don’t have a favorite yet, but give me a few more weeks and I’ll have a better understanding of which I like better, I'll also make a updated video review
@@davespence4912 so far this setup has worked flawlessly, my videos show every step for camera installation and stereo system installation, no tricky problems are encountered, pretty straightforward, if I had to pick something I would get a higher quality camera, although this one does just fine,
@@dannysdiygarage ..so are you implying I need to replace the factory navigation/stereo/radio system with something different in order to connect a camera?

Great video! Thanks for this. What drill bit size did you use to make the hole for the camera cables to pass through at 2:05?
I think it was 3/8, if I remember correctly

@@franchesco6797 why drill a hole when you can just go thru the license plate light hole?

Is there a way to turn on the rear camera while driving? Not just when you put it in reverse?
Yes, hook that wire up to accessory power instead of to the reverse lights
