    • @stephenmoore1541
      @stephenmoore1541 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jesus Urbina, they come with 205hp stock and the new ones have a turbo putting out 20lbs of boost at sea level. 0-60 of 5.9 seconds, 1 second slower than the type R. They're not slow. He's just a hater who's proving my point "those things suck, they're slow, nobody likes them" coming from a guy who's never driven one and is talking bad about one of the best selling cars in the world...

      To put things into perspective, I raced my buddy's 02 RSX K20z1 with some bolt ons and kept up pretty well. He had just a little bit on my stock car. Chasing an e46 through windy roads, kept up well there too, not enough torque in the straight aways though but the handling is spectacular. Got some coilovers and they ride great

    For me the 9th gen Si is my favorite. Because I feel it is an enhanced 8th gen with a better motor for an aftermarket turbo to really shine. Agreed there were some compromises in the enhancement but nothing deal breaking. It is just too easy to get 300+hp at the wheel out of a 9th gen without going insane with the build budget. And that is without a turbo. If you have turbo budget 400+hp is just the beginning.
    I also don't drive a compact JDM to hual human cargo. It is a driving experience for the driver and a lucky enough single female passenger. So yes coupe all day.

    That the last of the reliable Hondas. Those k series cars were incredible. The 2.4s were easier to live with but th k20s just revved to the limiter so freely. It may cost more upfront but it'll long pay you back in longevity. You can put 300k miles on those cars.

    Had a 6th gen, two 8th gens and now a 7th gen EM2 that i thought i would never own. I may go back to 8th or 9th gen if i dont Kswap my EM2. Really want an EVO X, WRX or Mustang GT but something tells me it will be another Civic lol.

    • @jameshaulenbeek5931
      @jameshaulenbeek5931 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you don't swap it, the D17 in the EM2 is prone to head gasket failure, so keep an eye on that. If it starts pushing coolant out of the reservoir, the engine is toast - the blocks tend to warp in the middle, and cylinder 2 or 3 will blow to the water jacket.
      A swap would be best if you really like the car.

    • @FutureDeltaPilot747
      @FutureDeltaPilot747 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      James Haulenbeek Wow, thanks for the headsup! Im not familiar with the D17 so, I will keep an eye on the motor and know a few mechanics who work on Honda's, so i will see what they recommend what to do as of now. I should have something done within a few months since i've had the EM2 for a little under 1 month now.

    I own an 8th gen civic ex coupe, and I love my car. The only things I've done to it are an aftermarket engine air filter, a 4-inch muffler and tip, and a resonator delete. I've done a few minor interior modifications but it's just a phone holder, dash cam, aftermarket touch screen radio with Apple carplay and Android auto and a steering wheel cover. Painted the wheels black, got new red lug nuts, replaced the tail lights for aftermarket tail lights, replaced Chrome Civic badge with a black one. I also changed the bulbs to LEDs in the running lights and the low beams and I've replaced the badged Honda grill with a badgeless mesh grill. It doesn't take a lot to make these cars fun and reliable at the same time and that's what I love about the Honda Civic I just wish mine was an SI.
