    I think the oem shifter & the Hybrid racing cable combo is amazing. Paired up with an RSX slave & EM2 CMC. ❤️‍🔥

      @Rawrkee  ปีที่แล้ว

      I might have to try out the EM2 cmc! If I recall correctly, I think the FA5 and RSX Type S share the same part # for the Slave Cylinder

      Yeah bro, I actually never messed with my HR shifter since it was used but now that I got Acuity, I didn't realize how much of a pain it was to make adjustments on the HR

    Back in 2011, I bought a brand new 2011 SI. swapped out the shifter with a TWM performance shifter replacement, solid base bushings, and hybrid racing cable bushings and it was the best feeling I ever felt. Purchased the TWM 6” extension too and it was amazing.

    I’ve never tried the hybrid racing shifter, but a few months ago I put the acuity shifter in my 03 type S and it’s one of the best short shifters I’ve ever used. Already had cable bushings installed, but I have mtec race shift selector springs and hr detent springs im selling now bc shifter return is just perfect as is after the acuity install. It improves everything

      I'm in the same boat. The Acuity shifter would get rid of all my gripes with the Hybrid V3. I think I'm gonna switch

    • @urgandma
      @urgandma ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just off the welds, I'm gonna sell. My v3 has a weird weld where the cable sits, don't remember which one (I got the hybrid racing cables), and the retaining clips don't sit flush. They bang up against the welds. Gonna save up for a little then but the acuity, hopefully recoup like 300-350.

    • @seag_ull9368
      @seag_ull9368 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@urgandma Completely agree. I tried installing my V3 today and the left shift cable locking thing wouldn't turn the whole 90° (maybe only 75°) since there was a weld in the way. Ended up backing out of the install since I couldn't force the cable onto the shifter, maybe I'm weak 😂

  • @qal112
    @qal112 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've experienced using a hybrid racing short shifter on a civic 8th gen, for me if you care about speed when changing gears, the standard gear shifter is the best... I think the concept of acuity short shifter is the same as hybrid racing, only different in terms of appearance and style only. I don't think this short shifter is fast enough on the race track...what do you think?

    • @Rawrkee
      @Rawrkee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      in my experience, one noticeable difference is the shifter height. When I set the shifter to max height, I can easily glide through different gears whereas if I have the shifter set at a lower height, you get more resistance when entering and exiting different gears which DOES contribute to shifting slowly. So you can think of the stock shifter as a fixed maximum height and the HR/Acuity shifters simply allow for adjustment to give that "race car feeling". I can't say that these shifters are faster but they definitely feel very nice as opposed to the OEM shifter.

    Where do I get a spring replacement for the hybrid racing shifter? I was driving and it broke off along with a bolt that holds the shifter together. Or do I have to purchase a new assembly?

    • @Rawrkee
      @Rawrkee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      try reaching out to Hybrid Racing, I'm sure they can get you that part. But if you need something right now, try checkin out Ace Hardware, bring that spring with you so you can get something similar

    ok i want to ask a side question, can i buy a full performance rebuild kit for my 07 si? i'm having trouble googling, i keep getting transmission stuff.

    • @Rawrkee
      @Rawrkee  ปีที่แล้ว

      it would be better to piece it all together, I'd start with all OEM gaskets:
      - head gasket, valve seals, every single o ring, might as well do the oil and water pump while you're in there.
      then look into aftermarket parts for your rebuild. I think Honda Dealership sales some sort of gasket kit for the head and one for the block. Might be a little pricey but if you know someone who works in the parts department, you can probably get it for a better price there.
      But anyways, don't go for one of those "rebuild kits" if you're wanting to do a quality build. If you're just gonna sell the car, then you can probably find a lot on Amazon and Ebay
