this was well worth the 50 dollars now i can actually quick shift!.. just got done doing this myself. video helped out allot, make sure u put a plastic bag down like in the video.... i lost my allen key down in the center shift area or under the carpet, and its lost forever now.. if you are having shifting problems u need to adjust your pushrod, google this. '' DIY: 2nd GEAR GRIND FIX!!!!- Clutch Adjust'' cus youtube wont let me put a link in
@TheNima92 a little ya. make sure you pull up the shift boot every couple of months and make sure your screws are tight the way you can tell they are loose is that the shifter is a little wobbly
@JDMofNY your going to get about 22 percent shift reduction. this is a simple cheap way to go if you dont want to spend the 250+ for an actual short shifter.
nice video the help me out. Only issue i got was that if you put it in 1,3 or 6th gear the extention hits the plastic frame thats mounted around the poke (european model hatchback 5 doors). I had to cut out a piece of plastic to get the space to shift in 1,3 and 6th gear.
for all of you 8th gen civic owners.. i got a question.. when ever im going to put the car in 1, some times it gets stuck and i have 2 play with it to put it into gear.. it also happens on second less than first, but it does not happen in 3-5.. so what could b the problem? have any of you had this problem?? and how did you fix it??
yea it is when i am at a stop...what i do is give a little gas and release the clutch a little and it usually just goes in ...or i do what you just said...but i thought that it was a problem with my car
Same thing happens to me and its a pain in the ass. Usually when that happens I rev it up to 3K and put it in 2nd gear and let'er rip so I can get movin atleast
hey the civic shifter kinda clicks and almost snaps into place, is there a way to make that quiet and really smooth and almost wobbly? greasing the bushings or maybe switching them out? thanks
Holy shit you really need to work on stop moving the camera so much and actually show us what you’re doing. But other than that it was a good walkthrough.
Most likely the best video I’ve seen on install catches everything in the video for the install. Thank you
Works great for me 06 civic si here Just make sure it's straight when bolted on
Cool, thanks for the DIY. I'm definitely going to use the bag idea. I'm also going to get some locktite to keep those little nuts in there.

Does this work with the 8th gen accord i4 5 speed? They should be pretty similar shifters I feel like
That’s all you need for a short shifter on the EX?!?!?!?!?!
how much shorter is the shift for u?

I have a 2009 civic si, I put the same adapter on but 2,4,6 hit, am I supose to grind into the bracket?
@TheNima92 yes a little
Does this make shifting smoother in a way?
this short shift adapter can intall on a Civic SI version?
yes it should. I would just check the specifications from the part you will buy, most likely will tell you. this was installed on a 8th gen ex version
hey how long is your adapter.i have 09 civic si and its not working look like its to long
I didn't get hardware with mine, anyone know where I can get it? (The two screws)
Thanks man
What exactly does that do?
wat if u loose the blue cap? can you get another one at honda?
Is this mod worth it? Would there be a difference in throws? Thanks.
to me it was worth it at the time.
thanks
I can't switch to second gear.
Guys if its not going into 2,4,6, R that means its not on all the way.
cheap 50 dollar mod reduces throws by 22%
