Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
    How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
    Never quit,
    Alex
    FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

@@ashte5486 Essentially yes, but not even to this extreme even. A smart customer will easily catch on to a pushy sales person who is trying to give them no choice but to purchase. You need to at least first read some significant interest in the product before you attempt to close the sale.

@@ashte5486 This is why people hate sales people so much. Let me give you an example. You know when you are in a good mood and decide to do something nice and you go to the do your dishes since they’ve been stacking and then right as you walk there your mom yells at you to do the dishes and now you don’t want to do it anymore. It's the same thing. When people go to the table they are expecting and know a sales person will try and convince them. Which is a huge turn off. They have to be convinced but it needs to be super nonchalant and not to pushy or its going to upset people.

Its a very good close for an item which means nothing to the customer. Try selling that to a customer who needs to finance something that is more than a months salary. In that scenario, its a very good tactic to be a teacher and not a salesman. My biggest and most profitable sales have always been giving the ultimate solution first, then providing solutions which will help them the most. Always stress the cost vs benefit at a descending rate. Most expensive/best down to least expensive/why. The customer will always get what they want, and they will never get what they cant afford. My biggest problem today is i dont have time for the amount of clients i have. Im creating a new company with set prices for the die hards on a budget, and a new one for the die hards where money doesnt matter. Weird problem to have.

You are correct on that ,people will always take the path of least resistance so you never ask do you want what I am seeing nyg instead you are asking them which color,or which flavor and now they only still have one decision but both will be a sale

You always have to assume the sale from the beginning to the close of it. The sale always starts off with No or I’m just looking. The most famous we words we hear in the sales world.

This could also be considered a "optional close" making the customer feel like they are making a decision... The assumption is that they will allready be buying witch you should be doing anyway with any conversation

So damn true. When I was a bartender years ago paid sales percent, my most money making question to a customer was "so which one do you prefer? This, this or that? People usually take that one but I prefer this one." And if you put the cheapest in the middle of the 3 choices, you get extra 25% on the ticket. Now in software I do the same.

Yup it works because it puts people into assuming once they take the action what happens what choice they make. Buying is decision 1. We are there to help them on decision 2.
Which is different than cash or credit because it still focus on decision 1 which is buy or not buy.
Whenever we feel in the moment of what we plan to do we are way more likely to do it

I worked in retail cellphone sales for a few years, we called this an option close. It is one type of assumed close, but this one you specifically give them 2 options and unless they really don't want it they will choose one to buy. I was a top rep in the Central Market for AT&T simply because I asked people which color they wanted always.

Used to sell security systems. I would walk in the door after a quick introduction and invite to enter, and then casually ask them where the most convenient place to put the keypad would be. Also, then ask how they like the idea of having a second keypad in the bedroom. Then just continue the assuming. Objections and concerns handled as needed, but the assumption close is so good.

Lol this approach has always been a primary method of qualifying for the close. When in the paint sales industry I also used the methods of 'little known fact', 'medium and premium grade product: and 'when are you looking to get stuck in'. A great closer is personal experience, 'My experience with these is.... ' boom sold! Relationship started, have a business card available for them to reference you personally - builds trust and more sales. Dave. NZ.
