If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

Hey Alex! Your videos are great and provide tons of value. But it's really hard for me to focus when the music is on. I thought it would be better if the videos were more simple (just you talking without the music)
I feel like you deviated. Broke people can't sell or rent buildings, nor they can sell bill boards. they can't sell insurance, if they do it's called a job.

In the digital landscape I believe its just as much about WHO is selling something rather than WHAT they are selling.
If you've given so much value for free that genuinely changes someone's life then in the end they will be willing and enthusiastic to buy from you regardless of what it is, then if you can actually make a good product or service that's a recipe for a ton of sales.
Right now I'm just in the providing value for free stage, where I just want my videos to genuinely improve people's lives and not look to profit in the short term.

The delivery cube is genius. I am trying to apply this to my web design skill. I don’t know if it will be scalable enough but at least it has the potential to have an income of at least 3x of that of a 9-6 job in my area.

Funny timing. Since selling my company I’ve been board. So I started a new company and now that might be sold. However I’ve had so many people want to have me “mentor” I’ve setup a site to charge per hour (or via blocks) and I’ve been doing that. Since I don’t need the $ I just adjust the amount to control how much free time it eats up.

Alex. Great stuff, but I noticed something you can improve. Seems like you were looking a lot to your right side where I assume your notes were. What you could do is have notes above or below your front facing camera and when you would look at the notes you would switch to your 2nd or 3rd camera in editing so viewer wouldn't even notice you looking at your notes. other than that, great stuff, if you ever need some guy in EU, to do some business with, let me know. You seem like a smart guy.

It's really interesting to think in the context of this video how AI will eventually beat humans in both ignorance debt, and time debt leaving the only factor that really matters be money. Now is the time to amass as much wealth and skill as possible. Love the video, the only real worthwhile action for anyone to take now is to go out and get what you want.
