I am trying to design a compensation plan for a company that so far has only has an annual bonus plan (despite the fact that it has a salesforce of +100 people globally), so I'm not sure if a change to a commission plan based on a paymix will be accepted. Current sales people get a fixed salary with no variable component, so how can you go from that structure to a 60-70% base salary and 30-40% commission?
