And the control still connected i have not noticed any lag in the controller at all. I did this two times on my first Ps4 pro. It was my first time actually opening up, and taking apart a console to such an extreme degree. I can't tell you how scared as shit, I was, hoping I didn't screw anything up taking it apart or reassembling it.
However, all went well. I cleaned everything thing, that I could, removed the old thermal paste, and added a new slab. Reassembled the console, and all was fine and quiet, for two to three weeks then the loud fan noise came back.
Did the process over again, but at that point I didn't give a crap to run any more games on my first Ps4 pro. Lucky, I had a second Ps4 pro, brand new, never opened just sitting in storage.
Keep it very clean from dust and give it room. Also, go into video settings and set the resolution to 1080p with no virtual super-resolution (off). For the Pro try turning Boost Mode on and off for each game and observe the difference. But yeah, lower resolution and good cooling help a lot. Some games are louder because they aren't properly optimized for the PS4. For example, NMS used to make my PS4 Pro so loud I couldn't hear myself speak but after months of optimization and patches, it's now fixed. It's completely silent when I play in 1080p.

Fun fact: replacement of the thermal compound is actually the best solution for me, because my PS4 Pro previously sounded like a jet engine, because it was loud, even through ear buds and a very good headset.
I used liquid metal, which also made the consoles overall temperature drop quite significantly to less then 60°C from a hairy 80-84°C.
And the console finally settled down, and as a result was very silent, even through Destiny 2 intense sessions at 4K HDR 60fps, Wolfenstein games at the same resolution etc.
I love a quiet console.

I have always use small round furniture sliders that you can get at your local Walmart or dollar store that have adhesive sticky pads to apply on the bottom of the console in the four corners to elevate to let the system breath and vent excess heat. I use this for retro consoles and modern. This does help with over heating if this is a problem and getting the best performance and life span out of your consoles
It helps a lot when you clean the inside. In case of an 'emergency' place a (cold) cooling element on top.

My 7 years old PS4 runs just fine. Sometimes when I hear it’s becoming noisy I open it, clean the fan with an air compressor and it returns completely silent. You can find tutorials on how to do it, it’s pretty easy 👌🏻
Do you by chance know a place that cleans them mines fine but I would like to clean it for the heck of it but I’m worried if I do it I will break it 😂

It also depends on how much power the app/software is using on the gpu/cpu and the loud fan kicks in to cool the system and NEVER play for more than 2hrs..and also open the top cover and clean my vents with a fan/portable vacuum to get rid of dust once a month and always vertical stand, my standard ps4 is 6yrs old and never had any problems.

Loud fan, use headphones. Same technique I use when my car starts making noises. (Rattle rattle) turns up the radio...
Mine sounds like a jet taking off, even my wife sometimes asks: what is that sound? I´m just about to crack it open and clean it as much as I can.
Be careful the wires are setup in a very sensitive way

Look for videos on how to do it first. One wrong move and you'll need a new one.
Make sure you also replace the thermal paste and the thermal pads. It's really easy when you get it open and it made my jet PS4 Pro almost quiet.

The video did answer what I thought... that the fan noise was a necessary evil keeping the chips safely cool. But here's my issue. I have a PS4 Pro which I bought about 10 months ago, new. It has always been quiet, but got very hot. I bought some little orange legs to raise it up for better circulation; they change to yell with heat. Regularly, the two on the left side, near the fan and heat sink, turned yellow quickly. But the unit was still very quiet, like the one shown in the video. But because of the heat issue, I opened it up, cleaned out all the dust in the case and fan, placed new paste on the CPU, and re-assembled it. Now the legs show it is much cooler, barely any yellow. BUT the fan now sounds like a jet engine running up throttle! What I play most is Skyrim SE, no special graphics mods. The sound is very intrusive, especially if I want to play while others sleep nearby. If you find any good fix for this, let me know!

To my surprise with my base PS4, replacing the thermal paste and completely cleaning out the the case didn't solve my problem. It mitigated it to an extent but it was still loud. My current (PS4 Pro) console is very quiet though.
I wouldn't necessarily say stay away from the vertical mounts with fans however. They're pretty pointless for cooling but the ones I've seen don't produce any noticeable sound, some have a toggle to disable the fans and they can be useful as a USB hub/vertical stand. They're just not effective at cooling.
You luckily got the 7200 model 😕

I have the Ps4 pro, and It happened to me once. The console switched off outta nowhere. It makes too much noise during the Warzone Lobby. Also when I played Spiderman Miles Morales, it was going crazy with the noise at times. You're so right to what they're doing with games but pushing it to the limit. I hoover my ps4 every two weeks. Also, left enough room for the air to circulate in open space. And what you said about the room temperature is true as well. Summer time my bedroom gets extremely hotter with the ps4 on.

I have a OG ps4 from 2014... it has a 2tb ssd I put in, also have a 4tb external. I have about 200 games on there combined. My system was so loud I honestly thought it was going to die. I bought these little PlayStation legs, they fit perfectly on whatever version of ps4 you have. They snap on and it raises your system 2-3" .... cost me 9$ for them. Now my system runs very quiet, and imo faster! They have all colors to choose from, even glow in the dark, which looks pretty cool at night. They have the official PlayStation logo on them. I suggest anyone with loud systems to get these, it's a game changer for under 10$.... Great video as always bro!
Quick suggestion guys this might be abit far fetched for some people but if you’re confident take your PS4 apart and take out the dust from the heatsink (there will be quite a lot of dust which causes the console to overheat) and you might also want to replace the thermal paste these steps will help with the noise dramatically and it’s actually quite easy however it is completely your choice if you wish to or not

Look up how to clean the heatsink when that gets blocked that’s what makes the PlayStation work really hard and amp up the fan
I don't really care about the amount of noise, I can always block it out with headphones, I wanna know if I continue to use it with the fan sounding like a hairdryer on low, will it permanently damage it? I've taken it apart and blown out the dust for the first time, I defraged it, it's completely out in the open, is it just nearing the end of its life? I sit no more then 2 feet away from it, so it's noise it probably a lot more noticeable to me. I'm just so worried of it finally dying on me, I don't want that to happen

As you said, most of the newer games are more Hardware demanding ahd make the system work more, so thats why mine does sound when playing RE2 remake for example or Battlefield V, but most games don't always make it sounds like that.
It can also turn out that while some games are loading the fans are loud but after the initial sequences it goes back to normal. I always clear the side air vents once or twice per week and there's also plenty of ventilation where the system is placed at...

It's because the background is constantly rendered and it might have unlocked fps. Black ops 4 had the menu fps unlocked and the console fan would go full speed.

I replaced my thermal paste/pads and then I installed a Nidec fan into my ps4 and removed a giant sheet of fur and dust inside my ps4 that was stuck deep inside without me knowing, it was stuck in the exhaust or radiator/grill looking thing on the inside(idk what its called) and LITERALLY when i turned it on i thought it was dead cuz it made no noise but thats just how quiet a normal ps4 is supposed to be🤩 I suggest doing what I did odds are theres a furry animal in ur ps4 that needs to be removed and replace thermal paste and add the nidec fan since its way quieter. Mine was a 40 dollar repair kit from amazon changed my life! No more jet engine!

I found those USB powered office desk fans to be useful for keeping my PS4 cool during Red Dead 2. Not a permanent solution to the problem, but a cheap option that may help tide someone over until they can get their hands on a PS5.

My ultimate solution (after taking apart and cleaning numerous times) has been vertical placing my console on my window sill in between the window and screen, and closing the window just enough for the cords to get through. (I would only do this when using the console) It is exposed to the elements, so if it rains.. it’s on you to protect it. In fact, it has stormed on me and covered my PlayStation, but thankfully It was turned off. I sat it near an air vent for 24hrs. It works perfectly fine and hasn’t shown any signs of damage :) I do realize some people may not have the luxury of a window near their console and for that.. I wish you the best. For anyone curious my ps4 is not a pro. It’s a CoD black ops 3 edition. I believe there’s been more then 4 CoDs to come after, so it’s quite old

A cooling fan actually works for me, I managed to play my favourite games longer but there's still one part inside the playstation that I'm pretty sure is still dusty, the cooling fan is pretty silent and smooth and works best in auto mod, trust me but the dust will still be in there, the cooling fan just helps the internal fan work better and the playstation have less heat in it

When I play Modern Warfare my PS4 sounds very loud but when I play other games my PS4 does not sound loud.

How would setting up a few ice packs in a waterproof tray, one on top, one on bottom of console work to keep it cool?
My PS4 actually stays relatively quiet until I play a disc in the disc drive. I believe the loud fan noise may be related to cooling the disc drive and it overworks the fan.
I've actually had a lot of good luck with external fans keep my console cool and running smoothly you can actually feel the hot air it pulls out of the system id say at that point it's working, I also elevate the system just a little bit too just so air flow can reach the bottom side, another very good and helpful solution is buying an external hard drive and putting all your games on the external ssD separating your processing memory from your storage memory will help the PS greatly especially if you have not done the HDD to SSD switch on the inside, which actually helps more than just keeping the system cooler.
Ok! Which is it to buy? An hdd or sdd for external for ps4? What’s the difference between them when using it for a console vs a pc storage? I’m trying to figure out which I external drive currently have.
The temperature of the room can be drastically increased just from the heat that the PS4 puts out. I notice that current generation games like Sniper Elite 5 make the fan go flat out and increase the room temperature considerably to the point where I have to run the air conditioner just to keep myself cool even if the temperature was fine before I started playing.

The PS4 pro fan gets pretty loud when it gets hot. I find the best solution is to have it out in an open space as you recommend. I also raise it up about an inch for airflow on the bottom.
The biggest reason they get loud is beecause the fan is a turbine which makes a high pitched noise that's irritating when they start to spin at speed and they didn't anti-dust, if they had simple cleanable filters on the air intakes it would have helped a lot
Now with PS5 it seems they looked into cooling more to help this and from the current reviews it's much better so far we shall see as system get older how they fair, I believe they also added some dust collector areas built into the PS5 to help

My Pro sometimes runs super loud also. Louder than my Slim ever was. Especially with taxing games as you mentioned, and when settings prioritize resolution over performace. Games like Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War and such really get the system screaming. I'm glad the cooling system is doing what it needs to do but while playing at night when my house is quiet it's especially distracting to the point where I opt for using a set of headphones to block out the noise. 😒

For those owning a PS4 PRO : Disable Super Sampling when playing very graphically demanding games like Warzone . Now , if your TV or Monitor has a high resolution eg 4K , then you must ALSO MANUALLY set the Output resolution to 1080p . High temps are not good for your console .

I like this guy is one hundred percent honest I have to exact same problem with my PS4 Pro my fan is way too noisy and I've been playing Call of Duty WWII
I've changed the thermal paste and it helped alot with the fan noise.
