Stock that console would be running probably at least 72c-80c maybe a little hotter. I did a couple other cooling mods to it aswell though. My ps4 however is bone stock as far as I know. I think they make these consoles just run kinda hot so they will die at some point and youll need to buy a new one.
If you take it apart slightly and clean all the dust out of it the fan wouldn’t have to work so hard to cool the gpu. That’s what I did and it quieted down significantly.

Matt 24 It's new chip set requires less wattage which means it requires less cooling. True the fans are probably smaller, but it also doesn't need to run them as fast to keep the console cool.

You are one of the few lucky ones. Most shiny PS4s are loud as jet engines, there literally gazillions of videos, and noise is always talked about in the subsequent revisions reviews, because it has always been a problem.
I read of people changing thermal paste and still having a noisy system. Instead I learned that there are two suppliers of the fan, Delta is the one making the noisier one, Nidec is making the quieter one. So who wants a silent one must also check their fan maker. Pro is still not bad.. Sure, it makes a bit more sound then the Slim, but it's also more powerfull so gets hotter and needs more cooling.. Just keep it in a well ventilated not to hot place.. Do not put it in some cabinet like some people do, then it will get hotter and make more noise.. Common sense really.. PS4 original, now that's bad.. Just got a PS4 slim for our vacation house and was shocked at how small and quiet it is compared to my PS4 Pro at home. It’s dead silent and seriously tiny. I think it may be the best overall console version despite the lack of 4K support.

Wow that's really surprising the slims the quietest. You'd think that it would have the smallest fans which would spin the fastest as a result.
Matt 24 It's new chip set requires less wattage which means it requires less cooling.
True the fans are probably smaller, but it also doesn't need to run them as fast to keep the console cool.

Well you must have got the matte revision, that is no where near the launch PS4 noise, yours is not silent as the slim, but as silent as the pro
You are one of the few lucky ones. Most shiny PS4s are loud as jet engines, there literally gazillions of videos, and noise is always talked about in the subsequent revisions reviews, because it has always been a problem.
I read of people changing thermal paste and still having a noisy system. Instead I learned that there are two suppliers of the fan, Delta is the one making the noisier one, Nidec is making the quieter one. So who wants a silent one must also check their fan maker. I just decided to sell mine a couple of months ago, and I just bought a slim yesterday. Silence, finally
Co So I've always noticed that Nidec fans tend be quieter than their Delta counterparts. This is from owning plenty of video game console that need active cooling.

The OG PS4 does sound like a Jet Engine while playing uncharted 4, I can vouch for that. Slim one seems to be the best, but I'm happy with my Pro.
Pro is still not bad.. Sure, it makes a bit more sound then the Slim, but it's also more powerfull so gets hotter and needs more cooling.. Just keep it in a well ventilated not to hot place.. Do not put it in some cabinet like some people do, then it will get hotter and make more noise.. Common sense really..
PS4 original, now that's bad.. I would replace it with a slim or Pro for sure, just to get rid of the noise..

CEWIIH it will I had this problem too and what's happening is the fan is having a hard time functioning so i had my fan replaced as well as the thermal coating because it was barely there anymore.

Just got a PS4 slim for our vacation house and was shocked at how small and quiet it is compared to my PS4 Pro at home. It’s dead silent and seriously tiny. I think it may be the best overall console version despite the lack of 4K support.
It is at least for someone with a 43 inch hdr tv. It is silent as hell

I've played a number of games on the the pro and the sound doesn't change at all it's still quiet these games have ranged from infinite warfare to Skyrim And the sound hasn't changed really the Last Of Us and Skyrim both are native 4K and it doesn't changed the sound it's no where near the original
I haven't played Battlefield 1 and I know that's graphically intense as well as Uncharted 4 on the pro I haven't played it yet either but Ryan uses Uncharted 4 in the video and you can hear the difference

What I learnt:
1. All boot up sounds are exactly the same
2. PS4 slim is the quietest
3. The original PS4 sounds like a plane when you’re playing a game on disc
4. PS4 slim is the best option if you wanna play games at night
5. Don’t play on the original PS4 at night as you’ll wake up everyone in the house
6. PS4 will always be better than the PS5
