I was in the Army. I wore a 50lb vest (with plates, ammo, water, med kit), while carrying a hundred pound ruck sack (backpack), plus my weapon, 3lb helmet, and extra sensitive items, for upwards of 12-30 miles. That guy complained about a 1 1/2 lb backpack…. Humanity is truly near its end point…

Well, one thing I'll say is that fiddling with Linux is what killed my excitement for it. Was spending more time troubleshooting than doing anything else with my PC... So that is a valid concern against Linux.
The Steam Deck thing though... I took a photo of my Steam Deck and Switch in their carrying cases and posted it to Twitter saying "All my gaming needs are in this photo!", and promptly put them both in a backpack. The Steam Deck is super easy to carry around...

By the way, I was commenting on Linux as a Desktop OS. Not as an OS for Steam Deck.
Also, 9 months ago, I was talking about an experience that I had with Linux that killed my excitement for it. Now, I have it on my laptop, and won't install Windows on it. My Steam Deck will never touch Windows. Only reason my main PC is still windows is because gaming still prefers windows.

Seeing this video and reading these comments made me realize how many people there are that either don't know about Hiding In My Room, or didn't recognize him.
The fact that the Steam Deck is bulky is actually a positive. It's literally so comfortable to hold and most of the bulk comes from the gamepad grips, unlike the Switch which is flat and requires me to take frequent breaks so I don't cause pain to my hands.
Plus, I workout frequently, so I can manhandle my deck all day without stopping. I even let my friends hold on to my deck and they say the same thing... There's a joke here somewhere...

I don't understand the "its to big" argument.
I notice when playing games like elden ring and monster hunter on my deck, that the smaller screen makes it harder to read incoming attacks. This would be absolutely unplayable on a screen like the switch light.

The steam deck is amazing. It can’t play everything(atleast not to my standards)… but it can play everything I want it to so freaking well. Especially dark souls franchise and fallout 3/NV. I don’t know. I haven’t tried emulation yet…. But I’ve already played a lot of different platformers and it’s amazing. I also thought the trackpads would be gimmicky, but I actually prefer the right one for aiming, more than the analog stick. It moves like a mouse. If you have any tips… I’d love some

I think there's room for both honestly, I've had a switch for years. And I'm getting a steam deck this week. Still gonna play certain games om my switch, but the steam deck will be a great way to experience a lot of aaa games that I haven't had the chance to play yet
I half expected him to drop the power bank directly onto his Deck's screen. Also, I see you didn't notice how absolutely destroyed his left stick looks. The sticks on his Switch Lite also look really gross and grimy. Oh, and watching him dangle the USB cord directly over the Deck's screen rose my blood pressure.
I handle my game cases better than this guy handles his expensive devices.
The switch lite as a console really pisses me off. Nintendo KNOWS that their analog sticks start to drift with 6 months. And they release a model without modular controls, and absolutely no solution to this problem. Absolutely ridiculous
How is the Steam Deck being big a problem? One of the major complaints about the Nintendo Switch was that it was too small and cramped their hands (me included), and personally, holding my Steam Deck feels almost perfect, save for the buttons on the back of the grips. Depending on the Games You Are Playing will change the battery life..more demanding games will lower the battery life... just plug it in or use a alternative battery bank. Up to 4 lbs extra will hurt his back.....Wow

I still kinda agree with him on the fact that the steam deck is really big and really heavy. I'm a pussy lil bitch that never goes to the gym but its still just really heavy in my back pack when I have to carry books and a laptop for when I go to school. I still really like the steam deck (when I play on it instead of on my computer) but you wouldn't catch me carrying it to school. I hope that valve makes a smaller and lighter version of it cause it is really heavy. along with its battery life. idk I would just rather pull out my phone.

He complains about having nowhere to charge his device in an airport or on a plane... literally every airport I've ever been to has a ton of device charging stations everywhere and most planes have power outlets as well.

I own a Steam Deck, and my wife briefly owned a Switch Lite before selling it and getting a Steam Deck instead. Considering this, I have a little opinion on both. First things first, the Steam Deck is kind of heavy, especially compared to the Switch Lite. Also, the Steam Deck looks smaller in pictures than it does in real life.

I'm new here so the thing about the steam deck is I can do anything better than the switch it's more powerful of course it cost more but it's worth it that thing can handle about any game that you can throw at it.
its the fact that hes using a 15 watt portable chargee to charge a 45 watt handheld bitching about the fact that it charges slowly and drains battery so fucking quickly from his portable charger. the portable charger i have is 65 watts ans can do 2 full quick charges.

And like... If you even want to make the argument for which system is better for pocketability, it should be noted that we have retro handhelds now, if you don't mind older games. Grab a friggin, miyoo mini or something and go to town on some ps1 games. Grab a retroid and enjoy some ps2 and gamecube games, or something.

I almost disliked this video until I heard his weird point about battery life. The Steam Deck is actually too big, and even the Switch V1 is too large. The Switch Lite is still not compact, but I can barely carry it, taking most space on my backpack. Not everyone can use large backpacks, most people in my country use small bags for social reasons, and you're automatically being classified as an unattractive nerd for using a boring giant backpack. However, I found it strange that he made this point while showing his giant backpack, and saying he will also bring a laptop in the video.

Because I felt differently than him. Or found the error in what he did. His review ensured the software was good and people were using it wrong. And I never felt the need to call him out. Unlike your video. I just don’t see the point. Sometimes people are going to like things you do. That’s life. So if a female doesn’t like you are you going to stalk them and tell them why you’re right and they aren’t. Rejection is part of life. Just like disagreeing. Whether he’s right or wrong. Tell that to me being able to run totk at an actual stable 30 fps rather than dipping down to 20 fps several times (you can do 60 but it speeds up cutscenes)
I'd understand if everyone complaining about how big it is if you're trying to make sure valve make a smaller version for the next steam deck 2 handheld but tbh ive had it for a couple weeks and I don't see it as a problem like does anyone remember when everyone sagas handheld was popular it was basically a brick with a tiny screen. Also that's funny he wanted to bring the steam deck on the trip to play games but now regrets it, yet a switch handheld is fine even though you have to carry extra hardcover games to put into the switch that are small cartridges with a cord it's basically no different.
