So if anyone is curious: The Final Fantasy 16 thing isn't "it can't run on a gaming PC" because luckily even Square Enix execs are not THAT stupid. The quote was about how the PC version will not be available 6 months after the PS5 version, which was what was assumed, due to the standard 6 months exclusivity deal Sony has. The guy in charge of the game does want it on PC, but he's basically explained himself saying the PC port probably won't be ready that soon after the PS5 version comes out as they've put all their energy into developing it for that one console. I imagine it'll come to PC like other FF games have, it'll just take some time, probably a year if FF 15 is anything to go by. *shrug* I can wait cause I don't have 600 bucks to buy a PS5 (nor do I really want to).
PS: Fatal Frame 4 (and 5) is on PC so um... not an exclusive. Sorry Harman. :P Then again, this is the guy who says Switch emulators don't exist.

Not only that, but Microsoft makes it very easy and cheap for devs to make games for the new Xbox consoles. For like $10 you can turn your retail Xbox Series console into a dev kit and you can officially port your games and software to it. As far as I know a Nintendo Switch dev kit coming from Nintendo directly costs around $400 or $500. Yeah, if I were a developer who wanted the most affordable option, I’m going with an Xbox Series S for $300 and then paying an extra $10 for access to dev mode rather than paying $400+ for a vastly less powerful system.
I find it really funny that despite monster hunter rise being made for the switch it got released on PC and the PC version is considered the definitive one bcs more options, better graphics and performance etc... even a game that was made for switch still performs better on PC

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised I know they plan on putting it on the PS4 and XB1 I'm playing i ton PC and i tdoesn' talways run perfectly here at times when it runs i truns nice but it does have a tendenc yt ocras hon my system and my PC's no slouch as I bought it with being able t okeep up wit hthe PS5 and series X in mind and does have things like an RTX card at it's disposal. It's no tthe mos tpowerfu.l one as it's the 2070 but it still performs pretty solid but seeing as I think the switch I believe is even weaker than last gen being a hybrid I think it's likely as Hogwarts is quite demanding and I can see why while playing it as the open world looks prett yincredible. I have a better idea. Nintendo could do what Microsft and Sony are already doing and port games to PC. They could set up their own PC storefront, I don't care. It's easy money for them. Especially when they have such a huge backlog of games people like. It sure would be better than their poor excuse to copy gamepass that is NSO, which is worse than Sony's attempt.
Given that I do firmly beleive that nintendo has *maybe* two or three more consoles in them before they quite the console market and make like Sega, I will be interested to see how the fanboys act once that happens.

I would probably give up gaming altogether if the only thing available was Nintendo exclusives. They've only put out one single game in the last 12 years that looked appealing to what I personally like, and it was a remake, and I'm not buying a Switch for just one game.

I remember when I got Elden Ring. Had an entry level prebuilt pc with 8gb ram, ryzen 5 2600 and a gtx 1060 3gb.
It still makes the switch I bought to play games with my girlfriend and my son into its little personal bedroom twink. ER would be so amazingly bad on switch.
After I got a promotion I bought a laptop (because sometimes I need to travel for work and do some stuff on the run) with 16gb ram, ryzen 7 6800H and rtx 3070. It is night and day. Anything I play is just the best thing ever. It is interesting also since it uses exchangeable parts. Sure the gpu is a 3070 mobile so an upgrade, if it ever comes to that, will have to be specifically ordered from nvidia, but everything else is just standard stuff to take out and replace.

You mean third-party should be supporting mobile, as currently its' the most successful gaming platform is not the PC and mobile beats PC is by a 500 million more gamers then PC has; the PC is a distant second compared to the number of mobile gamers (don't judge what game is, we are comparing it to Switch powered games). OVer 50% of gaming dollars are spent on mobile. PC and (especially) mobile are the only endpoints that have grown substantially in the last decade. Consoles are not really growing. It is pretty much static market where overall numbers for each gen have not changed dramatically for over 20 years. And this guy doesn't realize that third-party that do support the Switch mainly sell like crap because people who buy Nintendo devices to primarily play Nintendo games. And that is what primarily happens. That is why over time a lot of third party stopped supporting it. Early on in the Switch's success third -party games (the ones on PS and Xbox) were there on the Switch but again the games didn't sell. Some of the bigger AAA ones ran like shit (again it is Switch) because the fact is the Switch is crappy powered device that gets those loved Nintendo games that don't really take a lot of power to run. It is less powerful than the Xbox One from last gen. Most mobile phones (the #1 gaming device) are easily more powerful than the Switch yet the third-party console games rarely make their way there even though there is much larger audience and more devices that actually could run the game over the what Switch can do.

I will give it 30% max cause most pc users play dota, csgo, wow etc which does not require high specs at all. Just because they are counting everyone doesnt mean they are playing in good specs.
A fair comparision would be to check sells of 3rd party games in all platform. Eg Resident evil 2 sales comparision would be interesting.
Doesn’t change the fact that the vast majority of gamers worldwide are on pc. Maybe a good chunk of them don’t have current gen console level graphics, but that’s not the only thing that matters to pc gamers-graphics and framerate aren’t the only advantages it has

I remember the Gamecube generation, it had some nice exclusives but was much weaker then its Xbox and Ps counterparts so buying 3rd party games were not worth it.
It feels to me that Nintendo is doing it's own race there is the console war between PlayStation vs Xbox and Nintendo sitting in a corner playing with Mario.
Most people I knew with Nintendo consoles also had a Ps/Xbox.
Nintendo first party games look great on the Switch like Mario and Smash but even older third party games run like arse on the system.
