Do not have one of them, but was interested in how easy it is, after your video popped up for me. Great video! Did this on a PS1 classic for a friend and it was very similar to this process. Pretty sure this will help a lot of people out there
Don't bother. The hack does not work, there's many issues with the software, drivers, Windows 10/11... Nintendo should release an official update to add more games.
@@renzocalcagno536 The dream should be if they make a mini console with Virtual Console or Switch Online, so you can buy more games or play the same games you can play on Super Nintendo Switch Online on your account.
Hey brother great video. Wish we had more videos like this that are more recent for modding the mini console. I haven’t updated my hakchi in a few years, idk if I would need to upgrade hakchi if I ever wanted to start modding again.
I will try to get some more tutorials for the newer versions up! The program itself is still fairly old but the emulators and cores have better updated versions.
2 questions: 1) does connecting the console and adding the original games back in erase your current progress? 2) do I need to download a ROM file for all the games or does the hiachi software come equipped with it?
Hey! So I don't believe it keeps your progress initially when installed but after that you can add games and keep the progress. The program has no roms with it, those you have to find on your own.
@@UltimusPrimeI’ve given up after several weeks of trying. Only workaround left now is to just buy a modded mini console on FB marketplace and sell the one I have and just pay the difference. My mini PlayStation classic, I had no issues modding, was simple and easy. But for some reason both my nes and snes mini’s couldn’t be detected on my PC.
keep getting error snes is taking too long to reboot while trying to install kernel, have tried so many fixes and none of them work do you have any idea what to do
The problem is in the PC. Keep the SNES mini connected to PC until it completely recognize and fully install the device. When it is done unplug it and repeat the connect process again.
Am I understanding that this program comes with the ROMs, box art, and descriptions of all the SNES games you can put into the console, or do I need to download those myself?
It won't on the internal memory but you can add the entire library on to a flashddrive and use an OTG cable to be able to plug in the power and the flash drive
I went in to the Hakchi2 program, highlighted all the games I wanted box art and then right click, download all box art for selected games. Hope that helps!
OK I dug deeper in to it and you will need to download a pack with all the box art for the games. You then put those files in the folder labeled "art" in Hakchi. Then when you select scan for box art, it will take those and attach them to the games
Didn't work for me. Original SNES Mini, latest version of Hakchi, even original USB cable. My PC doesn't see SNES Mini connected, so couldn't install the kernel. Is there a method that DOES work?
Did you repair the kernel? Did you follow the power/hold reset? It will only recognize if all of the steps are followed otherwise it won't connect at all. This method works everytime as I've don't it on several systems without fail.
@@UltimusPrime thx man! I modded it and added Super Mario Allstars as a test, if I want to mod it again and add more games do I still have to hold down power and reset again? And also how do I make the game appear on the main menu instead of being in a folder, and furthermore, how do I rename the folder?
I have done this method with multiple SNES Classic editions and it has worked every time. This is the method found online and in many forums. Not sure why yours is not working. Are you using a data transfer micro USB cable or a standard? The standard won't recognize the system as it doesn't transfer data.
So this is what I found on reddit for this situation. Try the following suggestions: *Use the original USB Cable if using a NES/SNES Classic. The OEM cable has a white sticker. *Turn off Windows Firewall *Turn off your VPN (if you have one) *Turn off WiFi (if using a laptop) *Turn off your Antivirus *If using a Virtual Machine on a Mac/Linux, go to USB Settings and enable in both FEL/Powered On Mode *You may need to install or update RNDIS Drivers *Unplug power from back of system, wait 30 seconds, plug back in, try again! *Restart Computer and/or hakchi

Great job on the video dude! Very informative and detailed. Easy to understand and follow.
Thank you!!
works like a charm for me, great to see Pitfall available
Awesome!!
Could you mod TMNT rescue-palooza on it?
Dang! I should look in to that!
when downloading roms, what files are needed for Hakchi to recognize it's a game?
When adding the whole library does it sort to folder auto? Or do I have to put each game individual. Thanks man.
The screen after you export to usb will have the option for how you want to folders to be set up. You don't have to put them in manually
@UltimusPrime thank my man found an extra so gonna add them all.
I wish I would have bought one of these things with the games already in it 😊
Yeah God knows why this thing is so Darn technical to put games in😊

Nice! Thanks for watching! My roms are zipped. Great little system to mod!
I hacked mine in 2017 it used to worked I started fresh and getting c7 error I’m not sure what to do
Could you put nes games on this to?
Yes you can!
Awesome!
Does this work for Mac or is there a Mac alternative?
Unfortunately not but if you emulate a pc on your MAC, I believe you might be able to
Everytime I get to the reboot screen it says my console takes too long. What do I do?
That is generally a cable issue or a firewall issue. If you Google that error it comes up with some reddit answers and solutions
So it's not possible to add a USB stick to add more games?
Yes you can. You will need an OTG cable so you can plug the USB stick in
What do you do when your kernels are outdated??
You can just go to Install/repair and it will correct it
PC won't detect my mini consoles, I tried to buy 2 different data micro USB cables from microcenter, still no luck detecting....
Strange. If they are data cables and you followed the steps, there is no reason it shouldn't work. Let me know if you find a workaround at some point.

Where do I find more games to ad?
I can't say where to get roms but I can say that Google works great!
Is there any recommended websites to download artwork (covers and spines) for more games to add?
I found a great site that has them all. I will need to look back and see if I can find it for you.

Where did you get the roms
If you just type in to Google "SNES roms" the first couple of sites work great
@@UltimusPrime I'm scared
Am I understanding that this program comes with the ROMs, box art, and descriptions of all the SNES games you can put into the console, or do I need to download those myself?
No the roms are separate. You will need to find those. Google brings up sites for those and the box art will generate when you install them.
Will it hold the entire snes library?
It won't on the internal memory but you can add the entire library on to a flashddrive and use an OTG cable to be able to plug in the power and the flash drive

My kernel install process just knocked off mid way through the mini reboot phase. Just a red light on the mini now.
I will check about the unzip part and see.
