Great video. i was having an issue with the controllers not responding in any system other than SNES but I uninstalled everything and started over with this guide. prob solved!
Just as a heads up, the normal turbografx core wouldn't work for any games for me, but the supergrafx core works on chip, cd games you need bios files for the cd and arcade turbo games though.
Awesome video, thanks for the info. Question on portability of these mini mods. Once you install RetroArch with desired cores on the mini and you get all the games with artwork organized the way you want on the USB drive, can you then make an image of the USB drive to replicate it to another USB drive and then use that second USB drive on a different mini that has RetroArch installed? Basically I'm asking if you can easily reproduce the mod onto additional minis so you don't have to start from scratch on each new mini over and over again if you are doing several of these. when opening the modules page, the only thing listed for me is the retroarch 1.9.10 ozone? not the xtreme supercharged? guess it will work just the same? :)
There is a Port of Sonic 1-2-CD by Christian Whitehead (Android licensed by Sega) for snes mini/nes mini with the hakchi hack, not everyone knows that this Port exists!!!
I wish the assigning of the correct cores in retroarch would be more streamlined and automatic, especially when you want to set-up a gazillion systems & games :) . Isn't there something like emulation station for these mini's, like how it works on the playstation classic?

That's supposed to be a link to an OTG USB flash adapter. So you can use a USB stick for memory while powering your console. It's the only way to use USB for memory on the SNES classic.
What consoles is it capable of running from the list shown in your video? What's the most powerful stable console core? How much storage and how many cores can you install? How do you know which core to choose if there are more than one available for a console?
I would say performance wise most 16 bit consoles are fine. You can get ps1 running but will have frame rate drops on resource heavy titles. Storage is up to you. If you use a USB, you are only limited by the size of the drive. If you want to load directly on the machine then you only have about 300mbs. You can install every core of you want, as long as you have the space for it. Which core is all trial and error. Generally speaking everyone one available should work well, but some people have preferences. For example, on gameboy titles I prefer gamebatt but not because it out performs any other core. Just because I am familiar with it.

I hacked my SNES first time several years ago and I intalled Hackhi (it be version 3.5.3), I using USB drive how you use for games. And I installed from "Moduls" (KMFD System) External RetroArch (which be installed on USB) and KFMD cores. In November 2023 I succesfully update Hackchi to version 3.9.3. SNES games working OK, and I wanted to try add and launch a coup of games for "NES" and "Sega Mega Drive 2". I add games, but when I select core from installed cores in the list and try to launch games - they not working, I tryed to select different cores, but NES and Sega games not work. It because in 3.9.3 Hackhi not support External RetroArch on USB, or I do something not right? Please, do you know something about it theme? Thanks! RetroGaming Rules!✌😎

when using a USB drive as you did, do the saves also store in the USB? I'm wondering if it's possible for me to take a save from a gbc pokemon game I currently use on emulator and transfer it onto the SNES classic, or vice versa. I would love to play classic pokemon games on the SNES classic because of the controller, but then transfer that onto my emulator so I can use that for my Pokemon Stadium playthrough.
Is there a simple way to stretch to full screen? I'd hate to have to do this with Retro Arch and adjust it for every game. I'm using my snes mini on a crt and I need it stretch. No video option allows it.
I woukd say you can safely add up to 30-35 without an errors, but people have mixed results after that. If you add too many, you will get a c-8 error. This just means the console ran out of available RAM to display the artwork.

I installed a backup of Illusion of Gaia and Earthworm Jim 2 but Hakchi said I needed a different emulator. So I installed Retroarch but when I plug in my mini those games don't boot up. Am I supposed to install a Snes core too or something?
The games I import seem to have an emulator core already automatically selected. Do I need to manually set each game to the core I installed though? Is there a way to select *ALL* my GENESIS games (for example) and set them all to the core I installed in one go? Otherwise, that's quite an effort... 100's of games for Genesis, C64, N64, Amiga etc. Setting each of them individually to the cores I installed sounds like a nightmare. edit: okay, you can sort them by console, select all games from that console, and then set the core for all of those at once. So I found that out. My other question is not answered though.

Is it wrong for me to purchase a classic snes or classic nes from the internet which comes with the whole snes or nes library of roms along with the 21 games it comes with???? Am I committing a crime for buying this? Is it morally wrong or illegal? Retro stores charge 50 dollars a pop these days for nes cartridges. For me to play these old games from nes again I would have to spend a ton plus go get a crt television. It's just so nice having these games on a classic nes . I'm just unsure if I'm breaking the law or stealing by purchasing these classic systems with the ADDED ROMS. Also want to add I am subscribed to all of Nintendos online stuff

Just download and install the latest version from the links in the description and connect your device. If needed, it will prompt you to update the kernel as well when you launch it while connected to the snes classic
Hey I know this video is not about the Genesis mini but it’s somewhat related. I’m trying to put HAKCHI on my genesis mini but I can’t because it has project lunar on it and I missing the file it takes to uninstall it. I think it’s a back up file, I don’t know but it’s frustrating all I want to do is install HAKCHI but I can’t. Can someone show me where to download this file. I no longer have it not even in my PC
Hahaha honestly that's the direction I've gone too. In fact I only have snes games on my snes classic at this point but others may want 1 mini console for all games, so this is a great way to do that.

I'm coming to the end of my Master build for my SNES classic mini as I have made it a mission to add every playable game for NES, Famicom Disk System,Gameboy, SNES, Satellaview BSX, Sufami Turbo, Virtual Boy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance. It's been a year but it's a worthwhile project for sure.

When you connect the SNES mini to PC and Hakchi. You have to turn power on then hold reset then plug it into your PC.

You don't need the file to uninstall PL, only if you need to factory reset the console. So you should be able to make it happen
