Wow desk height really plays a critical role on aiming, I just changed it a few cm to make it like in the video and my arm moves so much more freely now and microadjustments are so easy
Videos like these are very important. Far too often you hear about old gaming legends experiencing health issues early in their lives for their ages. These things really matter if you're trying to compete at a high level. Posture is key. Especially for PC gaming where you're tied to a desk vs traditional gaming where you're tied to just a controller. The new generation of gamers have to be the difference in this department of self care and not succumb to the curse of bad posture due to neglecting their bodies physical needs.
I always wanted an adjustable table since I saw them at my dad's work as a kid. I'll definitely take a look at this brand, thanks for the great video once again!
I was leaning to the right and had problems in my pinky and ring finger from pushing on it while leaning. I have a feeling this will help me a lot. Great video
After watching this video and the aim mechanics I feel like I am in way more control and feel more consistent. I changed my mouse grip and fixed my posture and chair to my table. And I’ve only readjusted for a day too so this stuff works people!
For me, I have to put pressure on my forearm just to minimize my “random twitches” when trying to aim. Happens more going to the right. So I have to flex a bit more just to keep myself from uncontrollably whipping and miss my shot/tracking.
@Trump TheTerrorist right, but what I mean by "lol I'm good", I mean they don't want to go to through the trouble of practicing all this. I'm not saying they think they are good with aim assist in most fps games, although many of them do
@Deadpoppin Sure but that doesn't matter. You just can't aim a stick like you can aim a mouse. A mouse will always be the superior option, regardless of one's skill with the stick.
Having an adjustable table is really really nice. This brand is pretty good, one of very few that can be lowered to around 62cm for short people, which is hard to find as most standing desks lowest height is around 70cm. We really need good ergo chair tho, with good adjustments that's not 1 grand in cost. 😥 And thank you Ron for making these videos and keeping them short and concise. The short part is especially good for my short attention span. 😅
I definitely feel a difference between how well I play with a proper chair / desk and how well I play when sitting at say, a kitchen counter with a stool as a seat.
If you only ever watched 1 how to video ever on pc gaming, this would be the best one as its one of the most important concepts imo. Subbed, this is amazing.
This was the exact topic I was hoping you'd cover. I was really hoping you went a little more in depth with this though. I have an adjustable desk and have been trying to find a good height for arm aiming however a 90 degree angle reference doesn't work as you need to extend your arms out in front to lay on the desk hence changing the height you would need to lay most of your forearm on the table. Also for the amount of flare on the arm also has to do with table height.
Finally I’ve been needing a video like this. I’ve watched everything else and know everything but how my chair and table should be I didn’t and couldn’t find information.

Thanks bro! Because of u i can reach gold in valorant! (First i think this video just b******* cause my aim is always sucks) but its really the big factor! *sorry for my broken english
Saw this video just today and it's changed my whole mission this summer I gotta set some time to find an adjustable desk and chair. I've been getting posture problems and muscle strain trying to raise my forearm slightly higher to accommodate my desk!
I play at a public internet cafe, theres no chair, we play either standin or lying down for hours, still get my shot on point, but this is a nice tips thoo
You have exactly pinpointed my problem. I have a non-adjustable desk, and I am sitting on a bed. It does not matter how many times I have tried switching to the full forearm aim, I would always get shoulder pain because of the tilted posture.
This was very useful, by the end of the match my aim always goes off, and arm and shoulder starts aching. This is due to my table being higher. Fixed the issue by adding a pillow and now my arm is much relaxed. PS: I'm a casual gamer.
Actually this affects my ability to quick scope in a CoD I feel more accurate while there isn’t any off pressure on my arm, it’s better for gaming having your arm above the table and not below if you would have to chose one.
I love how you didn't actually give anything on "How Your Table and Chair Impacts Your Aiming When Gaming" and was just a big advert for the hight adjustable table...
Cool video. I've been working on mouse science since 2014. Seems like you made the same mistake I did in assuming the table "must be level with your arm". I needed the table higher up, because my grip (recoil & downward movement) depends on having a higher fulcrum point and a certain top-down pressure. My downward movement is from hand contraction/see-sawing my wrist down on the desk. When the table is lower, it changes the angle and makes it much harder to move downwards, I have to slide my wrist totally differently, of course I tried learning to aim the new way but it was really imprecise compared with what I already had. Now my table is propped up on pieces of wood, instant improvement overnight. Same logic applies to mice in general. Just "having one that fits comfortably" isn't enough IMO, it needs to fit moderately comfortably, but more importantly, allow you to do whatever you want to do in-game, and with as little "compensation" as possible.

Exactly I feel this everyday even my chair position from my table matters a lot it has already ruined my aim a lot of times.thank you😭
I actually tried your proposed method while gaming and its very efficient, indeed -- my arm feels much lighter and easier to track targets. Thanks!
Thanks bro! Because of u i can reach gold in valorant! (First i think this video just b******* cause my aim is always sucks) but its really the big factor! *sorry for my broken english
😀
After watching this my shot % went from 10% to 11% and i want to say thank u. Hopefully after another 89 video i will have 100% accuract.
2 AM IM PUTTING BOOKS UNDER MY TABLE THANK YOU
Saw this video just today and it's changed my whole mission this summer I gotta set some time to find an adjustable desk and chair. I've been getting posture problems and muscle strain trying to raise my forearm slightly higher to accommodate my desk!
I play at a public internet cafe, theres no chair, we play either standin or lying down for hours, still get my shot on point, but this is a nice tips thoo
Im high as hell watchin this in 2022 for whatever reason..you need to be a college professor or some shit..you just taught me somethin ✊🏾
I was waiting for some thing like this! Thank you Ron :-)
Maybe you could do some vids with some of the guys you coached, more content?
You have exactly pinpointed my problem. I have a non-adjustable desk, and I am sitting on a bed. It does not matter how many times I have tried switching to the full forearm aim, I would always get shoulder pain because of the tilted posture.
I feel like I both learned something and did not learn anything at the same time
I’ve been looking for this video for a long time! thank
Glad I could help!
Kim: You need good ergonomics to play better
Me, an intellectual: *plays on a coffe table while sitting on the floor*
me too :3
I put table wood on my legs and put my keyboard and mouse and sit crosslegged
Efrén Flores floor gang
Lol im in bed with folding tavle
I sit on the coffee table with pc on the floor
This was very useful, by the end of the match my aim always goes off, and arm and shoulder starts aching. This is due to my table being higher. Fixed the issue by adding a pillow and now my arm is much relaxed.
PS: I'm a casual gamer.
Actually this affects my ability to quick scope in a CoD I feel more accurate while there isn’t any off pressure on my arm, it’s better for gaming having your arm above the table and not below if you would have to chose one.
NOOO CAPPPP!!!
GOOD JOB PETER KIM!
SICK VIDEO PETER THIS IS GREAT HELPED ME SO MUCH!
After watching this ngl I’m hitting more headshot in r6 than before

Jarvis is a brilliant choice for a sponsor to this video
I love how you didn't actually give anything on "How Your Table and Chair Impacts Your Aiming When Gaming" and was just a big advert for the hight adjustable table...

Next video about carpal tunnel pls, and is it really caused due to high sensitivities?
Why would it be high sens ?
@@doydiyditx1445 because high sensitivities would make you wrist aim
@@doydiyditx1445 Becouse of crushing your wrist doing small and precise movement
@@Kasspirr cant the exact same goes to low sens ? Moving your hand over and over for long times might destroy your arm and hand ?
@@doydiyditx1445 That's why I'm asking for a video
Shifting the mouse and keyboard into positions maintaining a 90 degree arm angle is really next level
thank you, now i know what’s wrong with my aim. my posture for my table was not suitable.
A height adjustable desk was the best thing I've ever bought
0:54 homie, stop stunting on me with them killer dance moves.
lmao
You are gem dude!!!
