    You have to go the Gym and make some sports to make blood run through your body and also take massage procedures. This pain happens when you spend a lot of time in one position during gaming, and there will be no problem, if you go next day to the gym and make different exercises with your arms, shoulders and chest. We, guys, in this particular time spend to much time seating in front of comps or TV, when our body CRYES for some physical movements!!! We have to move to live. if you dont have a job that requires a lot of hard work, you definetly need regularly go to the gym, if you want to stay healthy and not to become a creaker, when you are 30!!! Plus as a bonus your gaming reactions will also improve, cause you will get much more energy in your body. You will have more endurance, reactions will become sharper. You will feal charged! Full of energy! Thats not just my talking. I am also a big fan of fps games. Last year i started to work with trainer in a gym, and now i feal myself muuuuuuch better in all the ways! Hope you, guys, will use this advise.

      +1 even when I just started going to the gym and was still technically unfit (aka still fat as hell): my overall body aches pissed off and my in game performance was noticeably more consistent after a week of gym everyday for 30 minutes minimum.
      Combine that with getting a wrist rest, hand warmers, and a pair of sports sleeves: my aim is extremely consistent now. I might try out Dr. Levi Harrison's advice on paraffin wax for my hands for getting blood flow going but so far I'm happy as hell.

    Outstanding video Ron, some really helpful stuff on here.
    I was always curious what long term physical effects gaming would have on us and figured our generation would be the first to really see it play out and the talk about noticing your 'in the zone' posture and having to adjust it for your own well being is extremely interesting.

    • @RonRamboKim
      @RonRamboKim  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As of now, the only physical effect has been this shoulder issue. I know some others out there have had discomfort in other areas like the wrist, forearm or elbow. This is why its important for regular body maintenance to prevent all of this later in our ages!

    I agree with alot of things you said in this video however I'll have to disagree with using a posture brace. A forward leaning posure with rounded shoulders is very common nowadays as alot more people are sitting in front of a desk all day for their jobs and hobbies. The underlying issue behind a forward leaning posture is caused by bad habits aswell as weak back muscles, while I think a posture brace might help someone realise how bad thier posture is and make them more concious about when they're leaning forward or rounding their shoulder too much, what'll happen over time is the muscles in your back will want to switch off since the brace is doing all the work for you. So I think using the brace excessively could make the issue worse for you in day-to-day life when you're not wearing the brace.
    I think a better solution to wearing a brace is doing some basic strength training with row / pull movements that'll help you conciously keep your shoulders externally rotated and pulled back properly while you sit.

      As a med student, this is true. Muscles when stressed are actually tearing in cellular level which is good since it promotes regeneration. And the new tissue cells that make your muscles is made stronger and tougher than before. Hence why constant lifting = muscle mass/bigger muscle

    Strengthening your inner core muscles overall will help you maintain proper posture when gaming which leads to less pain and tight muscles and will let you sit way longer in proper position before you start feeling pain or tired muscles.

  • @RageCityBiscuit
    @RageCityBiscuit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have similar symptoms; to the point where I’m wondering if this is a disability. The kicker is that all these symptoms are much more predominant in my left (keyboard) shoulder. The mental long term symptoms are far more severe than the pain itself. It’s turning my concentration into that of a squirrel. Very mentally exhausting and degrading to be in constant pain and discomfort every waking minute, forgetting what it feels like to not be obsessively thinking about your body as if you’re trapped in a misshaped, and way to small leather jacket. Or a night of restless sleep in a cold room with a pillowcase for a blanket. Just constantly dealing with the brain signaling discomfort is ruining my life. I’m not even a heavy gamer maybe an hour a day; this has been happening for 2-3 years now and there’s been periods of up to a year that I didn’t sit in front of a computer once. Feeling doomed.

    this is why I prefer controller in gaming because it's more comfortable because you just sit and relax with your hands down holding a controller, in mouse and keyboard you need to kinda stretch your whole arm to hold the mouse and keyboard while moving and if it takes too long like more than 15 min you can feel the pain on your shoulder, I know aiming is easier on a mouse but I still prefer controller because it's more comfortable, sometimes when I use mouse and keyboard in gaming I don't play that long because my shoulder is feeling kinda hurt already, when in controller I play longer. I don't know if it's only me feeling the same way when using both of it lol! 😀

    Get a sock, put a ball in it. tennis ball, or something like that, and lean up against the wall, and run the ball over the spot that hurts. go up and down, move the ball around.

    Omuz ağrısının sebebi masayı yüksek kullanmak ve omzun kolla birlikte hareketini önlemek için yaptığımız sağ omzu öne doğru getirip gövdeyi sola döndürme hareketiymiş. Yazı yazarken de aynısı oluyor.
    Bunu çözmek için en iyi yolsa daha alçak bir masa kullanmak,
    yüksek masada dirseğin altındaki kısımı masaya koyunca omuz yukarıya çıkmak istiyor, çünkü üst kolumuz yok mu olsun ne yapsın? Omuz serbest kalınca da alt kolun her hareketiyle beraber savrulup dikkat dağıtıyor, biz de oyuncu olarak sabitlemek için öne ve içeriye doğru çıkarıyoruz.
    Masayı alçaltmak dışında malum söylendi, dik dur omuzlar geri çene içeri ayynen. Şahsen hem çok kuvet harcamayacağım hem de bilgisayarı kullanmak için uygun bir pozisyon arıyorum ve asker duruşu hayır rahat değil. Sırt desteği olmadan bi duruş bulsak daha iyi olur.
    Egzersizler 8.08 de, işe yarıyorlar 👍

    The shoulder blade has the role of making the effort more efficient when we move the arm. When you extend your arm forward, the shoulder blade comes out to raise the lever, like a crane. When you sit on the backrest, you stop the movement of the shoulder blade and the muscle tension increases unnecessarily.

    My dad doesn't allow me to play games on my own pc so when he went for work away for a day , I played continuously for 14hrs (few minutes breaks between) and now my hands muscles are hurting badly... can't take rest because if I do ,don't know when I will be able to play again....

    Hey I ordered the brace, but it never came and I’m not getting any response from Primate. So I guess that’s not the greatest endorsement :(

    thing is, the secretlab chair has this fucking thing touching your elbow in the worst possible position
    this video helped me though, i was doing exactly what you said especially when i heard and saw some people "rest their whole hand on the desk instead of the arm rest, but this is just not possible without long term issues

    Thanks for the info. I've been having this problem for too long now. And yes I play CS and I need to keep my shoulder forward or at least more ahead than my elbow to be able to move my hand fully and faster. Btw, what's the right height I should be in ? should the table hit my navel or hit between my belly and chest ?

    • @RonRamboKim

    Thank you so much! This has helped me. Though I do have one more problem.
    What about ways to help the left hand problems? Problems that go with the keyboard hand and its pain/tingling sensation?
    Any tips or ways to improve myself for my left hand and forearm health?
