Dr. Ekberg, deserves a Platinum Medal for his channel. I've done personal research on health and fitness for over 30 years. Not only does he know what he is talking about down to the little details, he connects the dots and adds the missing parts that are needed in order for one to understand the big picture. In addition, his empathetic and well prepared delivery of such complicated information makes for a much easier assimilation of the knowledge. Outstanding!

I've been counting calories on and off since 1973. Each time I dieted I lost weight, only to put it back on and at a higher level. I did this most years. By the end of last year I was prediabetic, with a heart condition, and on 6 medications, weighing in at 254lbs. I had always tried to do low fat, high fibre and exchanging saturated fat with PUFA margarine. I was ill from water on the lung. Then I read Robert Lustig's Metabloical, Jason Fung's Complete Guide to Fasting and Gary Taubes The Case for KETO. Since January I am down 44lbs to 15 stone, I have stopped 4 medications, and my A1C is back to normal. Kill the carbs before the carbs kill you.

Dr Eckberg. You hit the nail on the head. I am 58 now. But I remember until the age of 12 I was eating EVERY DAY my breakfast SOLELY with 7 grain bread and MAINLY with brown sugar, sometimes jam. NEVER meat and almost never cheese. I was VERY active that time. Driving every day many kilometres with my bike constantly at full speed. In school my teacher always complained why I was constantly hopping with my feet. And I was the lightest and strongest of my class. But when growing older I observed brainfog was slowly but gradually setting in until a point I observed that I was about 48 years old but I lost lots of my abilities and brainpower. I also lost my job back than. If it was not for realizing this in time I would certainly going downhill much more. After changing lifestyle I was stabilizing for few years. But thanks for the knowledge from you and Dr Berg I am really recovering now from my depression, overweight and brainfog.
    Thank you Dr Eckberg.

@@jtedandlindasimpson7044 You don't mention if you had a dietician to guide you or not. Also, have you visited a doctor for your stomach? From personal experience I can tell you that no diet is perfect for everyone because we are not copies of one another. I had to lose 6 kilos and I had blood sugar and cholesterol over normal. My theroid was behind them. I also had serious stomach problems and I had gastroscopy. I needed therapy. Mastich capsules help but don't solve the problem.
I had a dietician who gave me different diets but pointed out I had to release stress. A balaced diet helped me in the end. And movement. What I found out myself was that the morning coffee with some coconut milk helped my stomach, after breakfast of course, while plain coffee caused acidity.Don't eat heavy meals late in the evening, as well.

Since retiring I spend MANY hours every week taking long walks in the woods where my world is calm and peaceful. Somewhere I learned to manage moderate osteoarthritic pain with diet and exercise which includes gentle strength training. The results are, I sleep better, I am happier and I have a BMI under 24. This video completely explains my results. If I had only seen this earlier. I have been worried that my regiment of healthy eating, exercise and long walks in the woods has become an obsession. Thank you for encouraging me to never abandon my new lifestyle. I honestly believe I am a happier and better person because of it.

Hands down the best breakdown of metabolic syndrome vis-a-vis CICO. Should be required watching for every single person who starts talking about caloric restriction. Dr Ekberg, you are my one go-to resource and educator on nutrition, wellness, and taking control of your health. I'm sending every single gym bro/you just need to eat less wellwisher I have an argument with to this video. Thank you for so brilliantly and eloquently summing this up.

Just glad to find videos like this that take issues by their roots and seek holistic answers.

Thank you Dr. Ekberg! I followed you for 4 months now . I lost 30 pounds total. Changing my lifestyle was the key that includes, fasting 16-18 hrs and occasional 24-36 hrs fasting. Selective eating of organic foods. Plus meditation breathing techniques. To improve parasympathetic responses. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Can’t wait for my labs coming up in June 2023.

Hello Sten, I just wanted to add after watching a number of your videos, that your style of explanation of medical and nutritional information is very easy to follow and understand for the layman. I have a clear understanding of Carbs and how to control my insulin by removing this from my diet and the fasting which I do most days now as I'm rarely hungry in the mornings and do not eat until around later morning or even lunchtime. I'm a 65 year old man in UK, and still working but have had belly fat for a number of years and now after following you, I have confidence I will loose it. Thank you

Dr 👨‍⚕️ E. - you are a wonderful person. I am in ketosis and at age 59, I weigh 220 pounds. I once weighed a whopping 289 pounds many years ago. In 2019 I was down to 204, but put on 30 pounds over the 2 Pandemic 😷 years. In the last month, I’ve been able to drop 10 pounds. It’s difficult, but my health is at stake.

This is the most compressive information on weigh loss that I have ever heard... I was in tears by the time he was talking about the guru stuff...the stress is not in the world, it's our response to what is happening in the world...then meditation and breathing exercises 👏👏..the total breakdown on how and why and what causes obesity is on point and enlightening... thank you doc I am going to take this information and run with it ... but not too much to make me huff and puff...😂

It's amazing how you provide so much information in an understandable way. I've tried a lot of "heathy diet" advise and it's interesting how the body adapts. I cut out a bad habit and my weight drops but remains on the same level no matter how much extra exercise I do. I drop another bad habit and the same thing happens. When you remove the body's enemies, it tends to try to function correctly again. I've lost about 23 kg (~50lbs) this way, the majority of which were from changing eating habits.

Thank you Nikolay Egov for sharing your experience and helping inspire others. I really appreciate your feedback. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. I spend so much time on it because when we get "the why" and the mechanism we become empowered for life . Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile. 😄
