Thank you for bringing Dr. Fung! Since I had a hysterectomy four years ago I know my hormones have affected my weight gain. I would have liked to more about that
My two brothers have Type 2 diabetes and my grandma died of Type 2 diabetes. 3 & 1/2 years ago, my A1C # was 6.1, prediabetic and my doctor asked me to take a medication. I found Dr. Fung's seminar video and started 16-hour intermittent diet. My A1C # went down to 5.8 in a year and now is 5.6, completely normal. My doctor was so surprised and asked me how I did it. Now I am not hungry at all from 7PM to 12:30PM next day and eat a brunch. My brain is sharper than ever during the time and I have more energy than ever. I'm the ONLY one in my family not diabetic and not on a medication. I cannot thank Dr. Fung enough by any words.
I was diagnosed DT2 in Aug 2017. Kick off low carb high fats regime in Sept 2020. Got rid of statin, metformin, mecobolamin & insulin in just a few months. Declared diabetic free by 6 different doctors from 2022 till my last appointment in Jan 2024. Thanks to you Dr Fung! Love from Kelantan, Malaysia🇲🇾
I read his book and have tried incorporating his teachings into my daily life. 16, 24, and 36 hour fasts. Increasing fiber, protein, and fat and reducing carbohydrates. July 4th 2023 I was 311 pounds. I weighed myself this morning. I'm 260 pounds. Its slow but im getting there.
That's because nutritionist are taught the "party line" that will eventually bring more people into the medical system to make money, not what is best for people.
I have a friend who is a nutritionist and very obese...but she won't listen to this. She is in her late 60's. Thinks her way of eating is healthy, but that she eats too much. I've seen her portions. She does eat too much, and too often, and mostly carbs. But why? Because she is hungry all the time.
Dr. Fung has literally changed my life. I read “The Obesity Code” years ago and never looked back. It’s a MUST READ for anyone trying to improve their health by eating more intelligently.
A plastic surgeon I spoke with in 2018, who refused to do liposuction on me, said search for Dr. Jason Fung. Read his book. Here in Manila, I just couldn’t find his book in 2018. Then I started seeing him on my feed during the pandemic, and he saved me from rolling over to diabetes. I found his speaches to universities and medical audiences, and interviews with his fellow doctors. He is a gift to the world. ❤

F***ing FINALLY! A professional who has explained weight loss/gain in a real and accessible way. No ‘diet’ seems to explain the (huge) hormonal part in all this. Stephen, you said it right - a light has gone on in my mind too. Thanks for this interview, Stephen, your style allows your guests to speak freely and honestly and eloquently, and it’s brilliant! This man saved my life. I was obese class III, suffering from insulin resistance/pre-diabetic I’m about 20 pounds from my goal weight. Used fasting and strength training eating all food groups, whole carbs rather than refined. In the best shape of my life! Thank you Dr. F’ing!
@@findingtifa just drinking water is the best way to fast but you can drink teas and some other stuff and still lose weight. I recommend watching Dr Fungs youtube videos. Has all the info you need.
I am 63. My top weight was 368 lbs. I have been in and out of outpatient hospital obesity and/or weight management programs for years. They work on the calories in/calories out belief which does work for the first 4 months. Your body then gets smart and adjusts to fewer calories and you plateau. When the pandemic was in full gear, a close friend told me that I more likely would die from CoVid because of my age and weight. This put a fire in me because the medical community was going beyond moral judgement but sentencing me to death. I took all the crayons in my box, and colored and drew upon my experience and created something sustainable for me. First, I fasted for 48 hours to feel hunger. I know that sounds weird, but when you are constantly eating around the clock, you forget what that feels like. It was only then that I learned the difference between needing to eat or needing to hydrate. Second, I ate 3 or 4 meals in an 8 hour window (intermittent fasting). After then, I would only drink water to fill my belly. Third, I walked 5 to 6 miles per day, basically, 3-1-2 morning-noon-evening. I lost 105 pounds and then plateaued for over 9 months. So I decided to readjust my set-point weight and jump-start my metabolism by eating 2400 calories daily for about 3 days or so. Then, I went back to fasting for just 36 hours, with a big dinner to celebrate! I then added more protein, lowered carbs, and ate between 1500 to 1800 calories. I started weight/resistance training to ensure muscle gain and/or tone and fat loss. I am now down to 253 lbs. My goal is to reach One-derland and then lose for esthetics (Oh, VANITY!) Thanks, Dr. Jason Fung!💗😄 You led me to this heath journey 4 years ago when I stumbled onto your page.
The body isn't "smart" and adjusting to eating less. The body is needing fewer calories because as you lose weight and weigh less, you need less energy. The number of calories needed by the body decreases as weight is lost. So yeah, you have to constantly make sure your calories in is under your bmr, but as weight is lost, your bmr will constantly be changing.
Dr. Fung, you are not arrogant, you are a justified hero!!! You’ve helped so many. I hope the whole world wakes up to your teachings and that your legacy lives on in the form of healthier future generations with low prevalence of PCOS and T2 Diabetes! ❤

@@ruthmwagner1729Intermittent fasting has been around a lot longer than that. For some people, the awareness began after Mark Mattson’s research; that led to James Johnson’s book then Krista Varady. However, I can point to a book published in the 1960s that clearly outlines OMAD for the sicker and alternate day fasting as a recommendation for most people. Fung, and the rise of social media, has been much more effective at spreading the message.

I'm a Muslim and we fast a month at early teen years our bodies adapt to that but also we know how to limit ourselves and reward ourselves after it. It's trully something that helped me be disciplined as a young teenager. What people don't know is we also fast certain days after the 3o days and it's actually asked of us if we are able to fast every Monday and Thursday like the Prophet did. Fasting doesn't only help you organs rest and restart it helped me with patience and listening more. It helped me clear my head I have never focused like I do when I fast. It's like unlocking some sort of a super power and it teaches you alot about yourself and limits.
SubhanAllah so true!! Islam is an actually a holistic way of life. Not only are we advised to fast throughout the year in some way or the other but are also advised to eat certain kinds of foods over others, also fasting is recommended to us as a way to learn self control and an increased level of awareness, concentration and way to control our desires . Also certain foods are recommended and science has only recently proven that these are healthy foods. Like pomegranate, milk , honey , nigella seeds, figs, olives, etc

As a Doctor myself I can responsibly say that this man speaks hard topics in a concise and knowledgeable manner. The principles Dr. Fung is talking about ( GLPs, hunger , diabetes, insulin and other hormonal responses) are some of the key concepts of medicine and physiology, yet, many so-called specialist tend to forget or act on these information with little common sense ... In here , Dr. Fung has made the literal opposite; talk common sense based in a strong medical foundation. Congrats.
I started fasting after watching your interview with Dr. Mindy Pelz last year and I lost 27 pounds in my weight loss Journey. I actually stumbled on your youtube channel by accident, and till now I remember how great I felt. Fast forward I have been following since, and there was a point where I gained the weight back. I had a crazy schedule and was a caretaker for my Father... so I didn't sleep well, a lot of late night snacks. I had other weight loss offers and for some reason couldn't get myself to fast like I used to. Oh my god finally! Fasting has helped me so much with dealing with my food addiction. I grew up obese and ended up around 300 pounds. Delaying gratification with fasting is how I’m now down to 225 and still going. A lot of people bash fasting because they’re misinformed and believe that “starvation mode” while still having fat on the body is real. Fasting is natural and can help us prevent premature death and disease!

@@findingtifa hunger can be due to several things. 1. sometimes the hunger is really about thirst and needing water. 2. I was hungry all my life. I'd eat to a feeling of fullness, but would still feel hungry. Gurus said, eat more fiber. I did. I'd get a sense of fullness, but I was still hungry. It wasn't until i got more fat in my diet (I tried keto) that I finally got satiation and NO hunger! It was so wierd to not have hunger for the first time in my life. The fat-based hormones were not getting the amount they needed, and once I got enough good fat, things really started to turn around.
I did a 10 day fast (240 hours) and holy moly it changed my life forever... My suicidal thoughts and sweet tooth are gone... I'm 25 and I feel like a 5 year old again... I enjoy life again...
Not arrogant, you've already changed my cancer survivor brother's life, he changed my life, and I'm in the process of changing my children's lives with intermittent fasting and an understanding of insulin.
In my teenage, early adulthood I read tons of fitness magazines. All that info destroyed in an hour and a half. How did I only discover this channel now? What an amazing guest.
I probably owe my life to Dr Fung,, I came across his videos 6 or7 years ago. I was 63 118 kg, pre diabetic and unable to walk much more than half a mile without rest, mainly because of knee pain. Now I'm steady at 72-74 kg, I can easily manage a 5 mile walk without knee pain and my glucose levels are normal. In addition, I sleep better and my attention/concentration levels are much improved too. I honestly think if I had not followed his advice they would have buried me at least 3 years ago.
It really blew my mind how easy it is to eat 1 meal a day. Did it for 3 days drank plenty of water. First day is awful, lots of hunger pangs around the time I’d eat and snack. The next day, no hunger throughout the day, but my head would turn to food at certain “feeding” times or when I was bored or stressed. Next day, nada, wasn’t even thinking about dinner. Was down 4 pounds, not dehydrated. If anything I drank more water.
I have impaired metabolism that I’ve been trying to fix. When I put the continuous glucose monitor in my arm and do a 3 day fast, it is so cool to see around the 36hr time range, my body runs out of what ever residual sugar I had, and my blood sugar goes to normal…in the 80s. Otherwise, my baseline is always 120 never below. The first time fasting multiple days is hard mentally because you are so used to eating as a ritual, but you feel so good towards the end. After that you’ll want to do it again. Mental clarity, more energy, little or no food cravings. However, I did do a carnivore diet first to get rid of my carb addiction and cravings. I think that helped.
@@haveabanana2930 I honestly thought that carnivore would fix the problem, so I didn’t even try fasting until I had been doing carnivore for 3 months. Probably 2 to 4 weeks would be enough though.
I lost 13lbs in 2 weeks doing intermittent fasting 16:8 and eating 800 calories a day. I sleep better, more energy, stomach issues improved 90%. I’ve got 40lbs more to go, and will be looking at shaking up my fasting days with 19:4. Ensuring I get good protein, fibre, and fats is key!
I’m trying to do the same. I’m around 900 calories but having difficulty getting protein in and fiber. Fats I usually add Avocados. Hoping I can have your same success. I also walk an hour daily
I love Dr Fung - he has literally saved my life. I found him in October 2023 and started intermittent fasting - I eat in a 5 hour window- sometimes I fast for 23 hours out of 24 because I'm just not hungry. December 2022 my health was so bad that the Emergency Dept decided that I was not for resuscitation. January 2024 I was admitted to hospital again for a non obesity reason and my blood pressure is down (meds halved), off of insulin (still on meds), my fast heartbeat is much better (meds halved) and down by 10kg. My joints are much better, my body is generally less inflamed and I am gaining my health back. I also found Dr Ken Berry in November 2023 I mainly do carnivore or ketovore as my body and brain likes it. This year hopefully I will loose more weight but more importantly I will be gaining my life back.
Lost 35 ib so far with varying fasting, no exercise at all (ME Fibro etc), and now classed as overweight opposed to obese. Your video's have certainly helped so thank you.
Jessica- Gentle strength training is vital for fibro, as is a very nutrient dense meal plan. Weight loss is great and all, but you should aim to be metabolically healthy too. Fibro is shown by several research papers to have higher average blood glucose & tied to some vitamin/mineral deficiencies. Appropriate exercise does help the pain.

I also eliminate highly processed food, alcohol, and bad oils (corn, canola, sunflower, etc…) use organic olive oil, walnut oil, or avocado oil. Great message and information!
I'm 54 and am also having great results (finally!) with 36h! I've been doing this 1x a week, but am going to bump that up to 2x a week since my body is doing so well.
I’m a medical Dr. I have intermittent fasted most of my life. The only time I was overweight was after a 4 week visit to family overseas - where I was fed 4 times a day. Other than that, I have never had a weight problem. If you truly listen your body, you will discover that you do not need a lot of food.

@@ramman411970don’t think of it that way, that will be very limiting. First thing to do is look at what your diet looks like now. Carbs and sugar should be minimized if not cut out entirely ideally. I just completed a 72 hour water fast and I’m so excited. The results from the three days is amazing and intermittent fasting will be a part of my lifestyle from here on out.

Juliette, it's more important how you END any fast. Also strength training long term is a requirement. Majority of meals should have mostly protein & fresh whole food veggies/dark greens/beans/seeds, some fruit in season. Minimal processed machine-made carbs& sweeteners etc.
You can try fasting like Muslims, not eating and drinking water from dawn until sunset. It really helped me lose weight quickly, and makes your body full faster when meal time arrives. You can only eat food at night, when it's dark. The result is that you won't eat too many snacks, and make your stomach full with your meal. Don't forget to eat a balanced diet, which contains carbohydrates, protein, vegetables and fruit .If you eat watermelon and drink enough water it will help you not feel thirsty during fasting .

This has definitely convinced me to be serious about intermittent fasting. I have heard guest in the past discuss this but this has been the simplest and most informative one to date.
i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2018 and immediately started a keto diet. Came off all my meds in less than three months and my bloodwork came back as non diabetic. My doctor was against me coming off my insulin and eating keto, said that it could be dangerous and he preferred me to stay on my insulin and metformin and eat according to the food pyramid. I decided against it. I have reversed my type 2 diabetes completely and I used fasting to lose weight. I feel better now in my fifties than I ever did in my 30 and 40s. My dad has been fasting for 30 years. His health had been so great. He is 87 years old now. He does not do interim fasting. He does one-month or two-month fasting twice a year. He makes his veggie juice for his breakfast when he has his regular diet. There are several ingredients in his daily meal: garlic, ginger, green onion, chili, and yellow onion. He could not do squat anymore b/c he fell last year. But before his injury, doing squats was his routine. I started interim fasting last year, hoping this method would help me reduce my blood sugar and blood pressure. It worked. I have no more high blood pressure, and my sugar level has dropped from 7.6 to 5.7. I am still taking meds, but overall, my sugar level is stable. Fasting might not be for everyone. But it is worth giving it a try and seeing how is our bodies respond to it. Listening to our bodies!

I've had this conversation with the Mrs about how, in my opinion, today's Doctors are just dealing with the symptoms and not the actual underlying problem(s). I can speculate many reason as to why but that's not the point of my commenting. This interview DOES deal with the root causes and provides solutions. I thought it made so much sense that I forwarded it to many people I care about. Not to persuade them, but to give them more information that could affect their decisions on what they can do. I am new-ish to Intermittent fasting and am a HUGE follower/supporter of it and of all the information I've consumed about it, this interview really gave me clarity of "why". Why it's important. Why it works. Why I should do it. Why it will help with so many other aspects of my life. Thank you for this interview and thank you to Dr. Fung for all the great information!
Another great talk. I'm 77 years old and lost 40 lbs a few years ago by low carb/high fat principles, and still do a 16hr fast every day. One thing he mentions is being happy - I found immediately upon starting the lchf diet that I was simply much happier. My husband comments on this. Cue the "gut biome" videos. There is so much more to this.
Dr. Jason Fung (a Canadian nephrologist), is an absolute gem. So unassuming. So incredibly nice. I've been following his TH-cam channel for a long time, and I have read his book "The Obesity Code". I have used Intermittent fasting and reduced carbs with great success. Very happy to see Dr. Fung on this podcast.
Hormones are key! I gained 10 lbs out of nowhere. Could not lose it no matter what I did. Started having all these weird reproductive problems and went to ob/gyn. They prescribed progesterone and in three weeks, I had dropped 15 lbs. I had no clue the power of hormone balance until it happened to me. I had fasted for years but it unfortunately did not help once my progesterone plummeted. I had to have hormone supplementation. Really love Diary of CEO and every guest has value. ❤
Read the book 'fast like a girl'. WHEN you fast through your menstrual cycle is critical to avoid stuffing your hormones. Most fasting info comes from men, we can't fast the same way because of our hormones.
I've tried many many many dietary "tricks" to lose weight after my 40s, but what finally helped most is NOT calories in-calories out, is NOT "starving" with vegetables, fruits, unprocessed foods.... it's been FASTING. with that I learnt to eat when I'm hungry and I learnt what really hunger is. Just by simply taking away breakfast from my working days routine, doing exercise, dose carbohydrates at lunch and eating whatever I want for dinner, I'm losing 2 to 4 pounds each week. I totally agree with what has been said in this video.
A-HA! I KNEW HE WAS A CANADIAN WHEN HE SAID “ABOUT”! And he’s from The 6ix?!? I feel proud 😊. Thank you for sharing this tidbit. This is the first time I’ve seen and heard of him. So grateful for his contribution to health and sciences.

I don't think I could walk if I weighed that much. My joints and back would hurt.
Great job buddy
The body isn't "smart" and adjusting to eating less. The body is needing fewer calories because as you lose weight and weigh less, you need less energy. The number of calories needed by the body decreases as weight is lost. So yeah, you have to constantly make sure your calories in is under your bmr, but as weight is lost, your bmr will constantly be changing.

Wow that's great
I started fasting after watching your interview with Dr. I'm on the youtube looking for ways to loose weight again, and stumbled upon Doctor jason Fungs video... on the side I couldn't believe that he was interviewed by you, so you know I had to click it. I have confirmed again, that this is the best thing for me to get on right now. It makes total sense. Yes, I will be forever grateful for these individuals and also to you for bringing these subjects to light. Wish me luck on my weight loss journey continued... Fasting Day 1. today and starting fresh again. Thank you!!!
Me too! I managed to loose weight with intermittent fasting for 2 years and then I started eating more and more and the time window got larger and larger so I put the weight back again. But I am determined to do this again and start fresh. Everything is inside our head.
The MAN OF THE HOUR.......thank you for bringing this incredible man on!
I am so grateful to God for putting Dr. Fung in my path. I started my Intermittent Fasting last January of 2023, his teaching had truly changed my life forever. Now I am sharing with my family and friends ❤ God bless you Dr. Fung and yes through me your legacy will live on!!! Peace and blessings to you to have a long life!

@@jbw18866 for how long are you fasting now ?
I am one of the millions that have been helped by this man's insight, knowledge and willingness to speak up! Thanks, Dr. Fung.
As always, great interview.
My husband passed away July 2021and about 8 months later I ballooned up to almost 300 pounds gaining 10 - 15 pounds a month. I began fasting September 2023 and am down to 260 and still going.
Same! Started fasting 2019, lost 96 in 18 months. For the first time ever I've been able to keep it off. Dr. Fung is saving lives.
So sorry for your loss @barbararuiz2690
How you deal with the hunger I need some help and also which if are you guys doing?
@barbararuiz2690 Sorry to hear of your loss. Good for you for taking care of yourself.
Wow, that's is amazing!! How was your energy and hunger? Well done x
Today is Day 1 of my extended fast as well wish me good luck
This makes me so hopeful I might try it myself... Thank you for your inspiration and glad that you're feeling better

Anything beyond 72 hours, Fung recommends only with medical supervision.
I love this guy with my whole heart. He is so knowledgeable and so far ahead of everyone in the field, he is a breath of fresh air.
What an amazing guest.
he has a youtube channel
Dr Jason Fung books are wonderful too
I probably owe my life to Dr Fung,, I came across his videos 6 or7 years ago.
Glad you're still here❗️Thank you for your testimonial. 👍
So happy for you
👍🫶🏾
Wow, that's amazing! 😮
Where do you get your CGM? Is it expensive?
I buy the libre2 from a local pharmacy for under $100. Every 3 months I get the libre2 and get blood work done to see any progress.
How long doing carnivore before you could do a 3 day fast?
Congratulations on the weight loss... what foods did you eat on that 800 calorie a day fast?
What’s your 800 cal meal plan?😊

Dr Fung is a genius! I could listen to Dr. Fung all day long. Thank you for this interview.
Amazing dr Fung also had saved my life.
He is brilliant
Keep going 💪🏻

Jessica- Gentle strength training is vital for fibro, as is a very nutrient dense meal plan. Weight loss is great and all, but you should aim to be metabolically healthy too.
Fibro is shown by several research papers to have higher average blood glucose & tied to some vitamin/mineral deficiencies. Appropriate exercise does help the pain.
I exercised for 9 years.... Doing gym daily 2 and half hours... I also had personal trainer.. Maximum i could lose was 4kgs.... One fine day i left gym and kept studying then i understood its mainly on food intake and little bit walking is enough... Now i have reduced 8kg in two months...... With 10k steps daily and two times food intake... Food whatever made in house but less sweet, less oil... Thats all
You forgot one detail, when you go to the gym, you gain lean mass (muscles), so the weight on the scale doesn't drop as much. It was your mistake to focus only on the numbers on the scale.
@@Notificações_de_Sistema I went to gym for 10 y12 years.. am the same without any lean muscle. and maximum i could lose was 6kg in entire 12 years..... my visceral fat, subcutaneous fat remained more or less same.. now after i started 15k steps and being active in house hold works and two food per day i have lost 10kg in 5 months and am more energetic... gym is not necessary at all!!!!
@@shilpakini-walkthroughsoul9571
You didn't gain lean mass because you trained wrong or ate the wrong diet. To gain lean mass you need to train your muscles until complete failure, eat plenty of protein and give at least 72 hours of rest to the muscle you trained.
Same for me
Even with pcos insulin resistance
I’ve been IF for about 2 1/2 months. I’m 56 y/o and need to lose 35 lbs. I’m down 22 lbs. I’m learning that extending my fasts to 36 hrs 2x a week…will activate fat burning. During my feeding window, I eat more protein, good clean fats and nature’s carbs( 20 grams).
Is organic coconut oil okay to use ?
@@GabrielleWoods03on my diabetes app it says no, the best are olive oil and rapeseed evidently
I’m a medical Dr. I have intermittent fasted most of my life. The only time I was overweight was after a 4 week visit to family overseas - where I was fed 4 times a day. Other than that, I have never had a weight problem. If you truly listen your body, you will discover that you do not need a lot of food.
A 4 week visit to family overseas where you were probably eating out all the time. Eating 4 meals a day is not inherently fattening.
@@MulletMan3108could also depend on the portion sizing. Cause 4 really big and fullness meals could actually be way too much food for someone especially in a 24hr day cycle.
@@GabrielleWoods03 to go from a middle of the road healthy to overweight in 4 weeks is crazy. Like 3k calorie a day surplus probably.
So happy to see Dr Jason Fung on here I have to celebrate this man 🎉 he opened my eyes to fasting in 2020 I was 190lbs back then I'm now 110lbs I'm a healthy weight for my height now as I'm only 5ft 1 and 37 yr old female I was obese with alot of belly fat untill I started applying Jason's principles it took roughly 8 months to lose which some may say that's to fast but no my body knew what to do I didn't feel funny or off at all, no low energy in fact I had more energy and it's so easy to maintain, I follow a ketogenic diet mostly this really helps my brain but now and again I have days I'm low carb from whole foods not processed junk, I don't test ketones but when i have ketones in high amounts i can feel it, I eat when im hungry and dont eat if I'm not sometimes I'll go a whole day with out ingesting food which i haven't planned in but if my body's got all it needs I am able to know, which is madness to me its taken some time to get to this point as when i first started I'd plan all my fasts now im just more in tune with my body's signals, my cycle as a female is now regular which has never been the case, I'm so grateful to you and Thank you doesn't seem enough but that's all I can do as I'm in the UK and won't ever meet you Jason so THANK YOU JASON FUNG ❤ keep spreading your truth as it really does change lives 😁 I owe this amazing health i enjoy today to you and your inquisitive mind as a DOCTOR.
Happy for you💚
Please help me I'm wanting to start today, and I need to know what and when to eat.
@@ramman411970don’t think of it that way, that will be very limiting. First thing to do is look at what your diet looks like now. Carbs and sugar should be minimized if not cut out entirely ideally. Protein will keep you full longer. And I would highly recommend not doing cheat days during your first month or two unless you have very strong will power.
@@ramman411970Maybe you should watch dr. Mindy Pelz. She has books also.
Yaaaaasss Queen!!! Congrats on your achievements! 🎉
I just completed a 72 hour water fast and I’m so excited. The results from the three days is amazing and intermittent fasting will be a part of my lifestyle from here on out.
thats fantastic. just be aware that the body takes 2 days to fully switch to fat burning. So its day 3 and onward where your not loosing any muscle. but congratulations.
So you just drink water? Can i drink coffee?
@@marianaavilatemu253 When fasting I just drink water and also sprinkle some salt on my hand and eat the salt. To make up for salt lost thru sweat.. when fasting you need more water because its used in moving the fat. Coffee is a diuretic , meaning it makes you wee out water. ..if you normally have one or two coffees a day then have at least one a day while fasting.. you dont want to go thru coffee withdrawal, this takes up to 3 days to kick in. IF its going to happen. God bless.
This is like a dream!!! Dr Fung is in the house!!!!!
PS: It’s been 1yr plus following Dr Fungs recommendations on IF/water fasting and regular exercise, and I’ve gone from 83 to 58-62kg depending on where I am in my menstrual cycle. I feel so much healthier and stronger.
this gives me hope, I was at 86kg, down to 75kg, targetting 65kg next. thanks

Jason Fung was my very first dive into keto and his work completely changed my life. He's changed the lives of so many diabetic folk. Thank you Dr. Fung.
I am so grateful to Dr Fung and some others that really inspired me to take control of my health. Subscribed and liked! Thanks for this episode.
Fantastic interview, I have been intermittent fasting for about 12 months now, never felt better. Kelloggs invented the whole 'Breakfast is the most important meal of the day' to sell more breakfast.
And to stop boys masterbating - apparently!
That propaganda still works like a charm, unfortunately
Yes! Bringing the message about T2D is your greatest gift. I am so appreciative, so grateful. For years I've expresses to my various doctors that there's something wrong with my body chemistry, that there's something I HAVE NO CONTROL over.... met with BLANK STARE. I'm 62, and last February I went low carb. I've gone from A1C of 12.8 to 5.6 in 11 months. I've lost 85 pounds. I don't think even as I child I felt so healthy. I love your story, that as a practicing nephrologist, you tired of helping people through their dying of kidney disease. Everything about my labs are now described as optimal.
Thank you! I hope you hear my appreciation and wonder if you can truly comprehend the profound impact you have on people in my situation.
I used to weigh almost 300 pounds.
Now I only eat one meal a day but it's a BIG and CLEAN home made meal. It took me four years to get down and stay at my current weight. I have been like this since 2014.
I've been 'intermittent fasting ' most of my life, naturally. Whole foods only, nothing processed for 30 years.
This is THE BEST explanation I've heard!
Trimmed my weight down from 94Kg to 69kg because of him.
Been fasting for 3 years now and I'm not going back
Lies world record is about 2 months 😂
Is your approach essentially skipping breakfast? Do you have an exercise routine added in?
This is my goal. I started fasting 2 weeks ago when i had 93kg and i want to go to 69kg. Currently i have 88 kg.
You are never arrogant Jason. Your work is evident in terms of the transformation you are making in human lives. You are a gift to the world. Keep sending your message across and helping people. I followed your advive for two three months and reversed my pre diabetics. Keep shining

You don’t have hormone issues ect ?
Hello
~5 for me. Sometimes on and off, but it's helped me keep a steady weight that whole time (after a decade of obesity and another decade of major weight fluctuations)

There is so much more to this.
And he's not the first one to say it!
Well said!

Dr. Jason Fung (a Canadian nephrologist), is an absolute gem. So unassuming. So incredibly nice. I've been following his TH-cam channel for a long time, and I have read his book "The Obesity Code". You are the greatest gift Dr Fung. Thank you for your knowledge and kindness to those who need and want your help.

It is true that I've been watching your podcasts but never subscribed your channel. Now after seeing Dr Jason Fung, I just subscribed it immediately.
I have been listening to Jason for years and highly respect his work. I have lost 75 pounds partly because of him. I have not gained it back -- off for 6 years now -- certainly partly because of reading and listening to him.
