In Roboutian Heresy, Dorn is still a traitor, who turn his way to Khorne.
In Dornian Heresy, Dorn is the arch-traitor, while Guilliman was a separatist renegade, who got stabbed and captured in stasis by loyalist Fulgrim (with the help of the loyalist -Omegon- Alpharius).

It went something along the line:
Valdor: we are all loyal to the emperor
Dorn: The imperial fist are loyal to the emperium.
Valdor: They are the same.
Dorn: No they are not.

If imperial fists got "too much love" for the emperor they become black templars!

They want to end the reign of the chaos gods for good, something the Emperor also wants to do. But they are willing to sacrifice Mankind to achieve this goal.

@@karlfranzemperorofmandefil5547 not really, the xenos gave them two options, the emperor and horus die and the chaos wins in the long run or the emperor dies horus wins and destroys humanity and chaos. (theory) The third option that the xenos didnt tell the alpha legion was that they stay loyal the emperor defeats horus and the humanity kills all xenos and the chaos in the galaxy. But yeah without the third option in mind they had to try to defeat the emperor and defeat chaos.

Guilliman loving the Imperium more than the Emperor is why he is one of the Emperor’s greatest sons. The value of Guilliman is that he sees the bigger picture. The Imperium of Man was so much more than just the emperor of mankind, something that many legions, both loyal and traitor, seem to forget.
Exactly. Everything the Emperor did was for the Imperium and thus for humanity. Few seem to understand that.

The Ultramarines worship the ideals of the Emperor, not the man himself.
If they did, they would not, at least, allow the religious leaders and the inquisition from stopping humanity from advancing technologically and scientifically, in fact they would encourage technological and scientifical advances

Sceptis although its voice comes from the audiobook Helsreach. Alfabusa just took that high pitch voice into his video because it was the only Helbretch voice sample, being it trully canon or not.
The terminator project stuff makes sense, given that in Praetorian of Dorn and Solar War it was specifically stated that Dorn's honour guard of termies were wearing Indomitus pattern armour - the only mention of that pattern being used in the HH era as far as I am aware.
Seems rather weird that they’d use subpar armor for such an important position.
@@Recovey0 Yeah, I know. Maybe they hadn't yet figured out that it wasn't as good as Tartaros? They would have known it didn't offer the protection of Cataphractii. I guess if they were still testing it out that might make sense.

Dont forget Valrak Dorn also absorbed a fleet of void experts into his own fleet and made specialized units from those fighters once they were turned into space marines
The Ultramarines lost a huge chunk of their fleet at Calth so the Fists probably reclaimed the top spot.
And they have the Phalanx which is a lot of fleet power
Even before that die IF fleet was bigger.
Fleets are measured by Vessels and not personnels. So yeah Dorn's bigger, but let's not put them in competition with the Ultramarines because Dorn and Roboute are so similar to each other.

I always love a completely unbiased article about the Imperial Fists, This has made me wonder if Rogal Dorn came back (and not as a Demon Primarch as in a friends RPG game :) ) I doubt he could allow the Imperium to continue with the Emperor as a god as RG has and would take them into a civil war!

Perturabo was annoyed because Dorn got all the cushy jobs and the iron warriors got all the hard ones. Perturabo had to see his sons die while dorn & imperial fists had icecream and played volleyball on their "conquered" beach planet.

Nice commentary. As a Fist player myself, I've had several debates with my fellow players about the self-sacrificing nature of the Fists in contrast with their unfair reputation as glory hounds. My take on it is "In giving up their lives to serve the Emperor unto and past death, they also willingly give up their chance to earn glory, since all glory is the Emperor's."

In some of the horus heresy lore in the novels they do give some indication that Inwit was rather tribal culturally, and that there were horrendous beasts on the surface like the one that mauled Alexis Pollux's brother during the Crimson Fist novella
That remark about Gilliman and "Building his little empire" and possible Heresy? Good grief I gringed so hard at that!

The whole putting fists in braziers has historical/mythological significance where Gnaeus Mucius (a Roman citizen) ruined his right hand in a brazier to show his loyalty to Rome to the Etruscan King, Lars Porsenna in the Wars for Inderpendence (509-499 BC). The king was so impressed by his loyalty, conviction and bravery that he let Mucius go and he was known as Mucius Scaevola (Mucius 'left handed') indicating his now mutilated right hand.
There is some retcon and curious assertions being made here! :D

It's nice to know the Blood Angel's and imperial fists had a close bond as I am Blood Angel's but at the same time probably partly because of you a very big fan of imperial fists.

Dorn is literally sitting at the right side of the Emperor keeping vigil; while Guilliman is out in the galaxy fighting their traitor demon prince brothers. There must be a lore in the works why Dorn can not join in the fight.

I always knew the ultra smurfs had something shady about them. At least we can count on the Fists to keep by and guard the Emporer.

One thing, that has bothered me for a very long time, is how volitial Dorn was with the news of Horus' betrayal. Dorn is very level headed and thoughtful. Outbursts of emotions were not his forte.

A lot of this new info comes from SoT First Wall book where Captain Rann recounts his youth on Inwit, hence why some of the info here has only just come to light

Really loyalty to Emperor vs Imperium should be same thing. Bobby G is all about the emperors vision of the imperium. It is a nice distinction. I would say there are arguments for both legions conquest methods. Both loyal and awesome legions.
But even according to Dorn and The Emps too, Guilliman would never betray.. Like the Emps said... Girly boy is doing whatbhe was designed to and him holding the ideals of the Imperium and the Emperor to a higher importance than the Emps was a good thing
I mean Emps even outright hinted that the empire he found Guilliman ruling before bringing him in, as well as the realm of ultramar were the closest example of what Emps wanted established across the imperial, in every sense.

I think the Emperor wouldn't support putting him before the Imperium. Glorious and prosperous Imperium of Mankind was his dream and I think Ultras understood it. Also putting Emperor, beloved by all, before Imperium is close to worshipping him, which we know he strongly disapproved.
Perturabo was willing to sacrifice everything, Dorn did not posessed this toughness and dedication. Perturabo was the better of the two.
It’s thanks only to Dorn and his sons that the imperium still exists

Well The Hammers of Dorn troll the Ultramarines and there successors for every Codex infraction which is fun. However some of Dorn's boys (Fists Exemplar) did turn on the Imperium and there Black Templar cousins to join the sons of Pertuarbo aka Warsmith Kalkator during the war of the beast.

And until now i was under the impression that all Chapters of Dorn had a thing for "collateral damage". But maybe the definition of compasion and unessecary sacrafice are kept broader here.
I can see Ultramarine players challenge you to battle for declaring them Heretics. Lion El'Jonson is laughing his head off right now, feeling Vindicated from the time many thought he and his Legion were traitors.
Hm, that's contradictory. It was stated that Luna Wolves had the largets contingent of Terminators.
Maybe Horus got the mass-produced ones while Dorn took it upon his Legion to test all the prototypes in battle.
Edit: Also, that part about Necromunda isn't new, the "xenos" were daemons flowing from an unstable warp gate (that is why the tide of enemies was infinite), so when Dorn blew the gate up, the attackers disappeared.
In defence of Night Lords: is it better to torment one planet or to drown entire system in blood?
If you torment a planet, the rest of its system should bend the knee to the Emperor to avoid this fate. If you exterminate entire system, there is nobody left to work for the Imperium.
Choose wisely, Valrak. The Emperor will judge us both.
