The best way to get started is to admit to yourself that Dorn is dead. And he isn't coming back - at least not until Golden Daddy Emperor is back.

Getting started with Imperial fists : Get a lots of Executor repulsor tanks, a lots of 'em

Just received, but am finishing "Cadian Honour" first. To know the true history of the Fists you need to read "The Beast Arises" omnibuses though, as the First Founding doesn't exist.

Thinking of starting up the 8th Company: Dorn’s Huscarls since my two favorite loyalist chapters are Imperial Fists and Space Wolves.

Guilliman was never the answer. Dorn is a much more worthy Genefather, but of course the Lion is the best choice.
Valrak! I got two words for you: Thunderfire cannon. Really puts the hurt on, well ,anything. 4D3 shots wounding on 4s (with tank hunters stratagem) anywhere on the field twice per turn (supression fire stratagem) at DS-2 ignoring cover.

This reminded me there's no specific fortification for the Imperial fists, that I know of. Kind of weird that there isn't.

TY for a "new to marines" video. I'm a former "Fantasy" player that's pretty new to 40K so getting a better feel for an army before you get into it is very valuable to me. Any chance you can look into Centurions, Aggressors, etc. and give recommendations for purchases??
If you're doing Tournaments, Centurions are deffo better, for the rule of cool I prefer Aggressors :)
I think it is worth the effort to watch the unit reviews on auspex tactics channel...for example I think a couple of equipment choices you have made like the eliminators Las fusil is not the best given the anti armour already in your list. Check out auspex unit review. Cheers. Also is vigilus detachment still a thing for imperial fists?
Not an IF fan (Black Templars baby!) but that army looks absolutely gorgeous.
My executioner basically won me my last game, for the imperial fists I think it’s the best unit. I’d lost to the same army twice, but then I put this in my list and it managed to help take down both a knight, and Armiger warglaves. I had lots of help from my devestators as well. I like to run 2 devestator squads, 1 with 4 heavy bolters, the other with 4 lascanon. I then rely on my two contemptor dreadnoughts, land speeder, and deep striking terminators to be the aggressive part of the list. Other than that keep your tanks back and try and use them defensively. And yes, always use the devestator doctrine if your going to play fists.

I would always recommend centurion devasators with heavy bolsters and hurricane bolters pure dakka with imperial fists
I have a lot of the phobos armor Primarus, Might not be optimal, but I thought it'd be cool to have a force of sneaky dorn boys. Get out those bolter shots with a twist. Plus the kit that has like 30 phobos guys was on sale. Still have a lot in the box of shame.

I would say that stalker bolters are very strong for imperial fists but I think the standard bolt rifle wins out due to the rapid fire strat. I play against a lot of horde armies around my local meta so the rapid fire keyword and strat helps me thin those hordes down so my tanks can focus their secondary weapon systems on other targets
I run Crimson Fists. Against horde, the rapid fire with +1 to his is lethal.
Some guy called auspex tactics did a bunch of math and determined that assault bolt rifles are the best with standard bolt rifles not far behind
Chapter Master Valrak are you going to make any Huscarls since Guilliman has ordered the Imperial Fists to reform them? If you did their Horus Heresy paint scheme, then they would make a nice addition to the Last Wall.
With the changes to Combat Doctrines and now only ever getting your anti armour benefit to heavy weapons in the first turn are you now reconsidering rapid firing bolt rifles in place of the stalkers? You're looking at double the potential auto hits from being Fists and get up to 2 turns in Tactical Doctrine with -2AP which is great anti infantry combined with ignoring cover. There's certainly still a place for stalkers, anti light vehicle fire turn one then going over to sniping with the strat, but I don't see them being to go to for Fists and Hands that they were.
Put some sort of markings on your tank for each daemon prince kill, that's what I'm going to do with my fists vehicles :D (and on each of my iron warriors engines when they kill some fists)

Inceptors do have Crushing Charge, but it requires a roll of 6 to do mortal wounds, and there's just nothing else for a fail. Not sure if there's anything you could do to mitigate that and make it worth the charge.

oooh nice. but i've made my mind up to play in the scale of 500 points. I guess a 500 point IF army would be easy. as IF no las/plasma needed. i guess you can serve your opponents a bolt-storm. :P
What would be the best starting buys for a new player wanting to start Imperial Fists? Are there any good starter sets or start collecting boxes for the army?
Maybe try the start collecting vanguard space marines box set and grab a couple of the imperial fist primaris upgrade sprues.

Hey Valrak, Do the Standard Space Marines still have their place in 40k, as opposed to their Primaris counterparts? I was a Dark Angels player, and I was wondering which model range would be best for them?
Close combat since the primaris don't have any close combat units. I run deathwing as my close combat and use primaris as the cover.
Would this video and the units also be the same for the Crimson Fists?
I love the executioner tank, lowkey the best unit of the game, something like the leeman russ of the PSM. The only problem i have with it is that lore-whise the laser destroyer should be a VERY rare weapon, while here it is presented like a common weapon like a las cannon. But generaly speacking i always tought hover tanks make far more sense than mechs ot titans.
I agree that it shouldn't have a Laser Destroyer, but with a little plasticard and a bit of cutting it is possible to turn it into a battlecannon with ejection port!
IMHO, the keyword MONSTER should be included alongside buildings and vehicles for chapter doctrine.

I think both ultramarines and inperil fists together on the same team wood do awesome
Dark angels with their rerolling ones to hit when they stand still. I personally think would be a better partnership

Jokes aside, just get a thunderfire Cannon, couple of Executioners and at least 2 squads of Centurions, fill the rest of the list out how you like and watch people cry.
But you guys can just bring whatever from the Primaris range as your codex is currently the most busted ruleset in the game.

Step 1: find a friend who wants to start a death guard army.
Step 2: buy the know no fear box set 3 times.
step 3: buy some easy build agressors and a redemptor dreadnought idk.
Easy to build Agressors come with flamers though.
What you probably want to buy is the main box gives you 10 general intersessors and some assorted characters you need other wise 2 space wolf primaris start collecting boxes (20 intersessors, 6 aggressors and 2 guys to convert). Supplement this with the vanguard start collecting box x2. Then the only things you probably need is a phobos captain and librarian. From there you can branch out into whatever stuff you want.

To make an excellent Imperial Fist army. Make an Ultramarine list instead.

when you mentioned stalker bolt rifles do you mean the ones in the pic that was on the screen when you said if so then your confusing everyone a d the new imperial fist collector the ones on the pic is wielding auto bolt rifles not stalkers, the stalkers are sniper like weapons the auto bolt rifles are the heavy version of the them it says what they are in the codex

Not quite correct about suppressors - you have to kill models in a unit to prevent overwatch. Just wounding a target isnt enough.
