It's interesting to see what folks had been doing for 10 thousand years. I like the idea of end time, but I like lore thickly fermented. Like horus heresy, we know the ending, but the journey itself is the beauty.
40k will never have an end times, it's gw's gravy train. At most the "end times" will be an end to the imperium, or an end to the dark age setting and back to a crusade type setting etc. Either way they will keep it running

What's uniquely funny is that Guilliman's own Theoretical/Practical application of decisions is this exact thing, reacting in the hopes of the best outcome. The Last Wall Protocol is both.
The souldrinker novels are amongst my all time favourite 40k books. They're all 3 written by Ben Counter and are great. Souldrinker, Bleeding Chalice and Crimson Tears. There's also Hellforged and Chapter War.

I never read that series, as I heard that it started off pretty good, but got really ridiculous (even for 40K!) and the story just fell apart. When did they change chapter numbers? I remember hearing 10000 for a chapter and over 100000 for the legions, I swear just one day people were saying 1000 for the chapters and not saying why. Did they change it or am I crazy?
Latter Day Gamers it’s in between: • Codex abiding chapters are/were (don’t really remember after the Ultima Founding) 1000 strong • legions at their peak were 100.000+ (ultramarines i think peaked at 240.000). After the horus heresy thou they were HEAVILY reduced

I know... I can just see any Traitor Marine upon first finding out about the Codex hating the idea. Don't get me wrong the codex isn't really a bad idea since it goes from steamrolling everything recklessly to getting the best out of a Marine.
So after watching this the only first founding chapters that are able to be legions again are the blood angels, dark angles, space wolves, and imperial fists.
they also use it like coms by putting a finger to one of them. A chapter master has 4. One for fleet, troops, command? not sure what they normaly linked too
You should check out and research their history. The Excoriators are the epitome of the Primarch Rogal Dorn's Meditation Through Pain. The Excoriators are THE BEST swordsmen of all the Astartes and are the current champions of the Feast of Blades. Future Chapter Master, Zachariah Kersh, defeated an Imperial Fist and a Black Templar at the same time to win the Dornsblade at the 816th Feast of Blades. The Excoriators are the true inheritors of Dorn's legacy.
