- In honor of reaching 500,000 subscribers, I decided to make a compilation of the greatest (most ridiculous) videos I've made so far so you can binge your brain cells away. These are all long-cuts of my Shorts that only appeared on my Instagram (@AndyTheSalemTechGuy) and TikTok.
Enjoy!
Preemptively congratulating you on 500K. You deserve it, especially when you’re *the greatest technician that’s ever lived.*
Thank you!!

@@SalemTechsperts you still use iphone why not switch to android ios is slowing down plus should i remove the fan on my macbook so to make it quiet
@@Godofburners dude what? no, don't do that.
@@SalemTechsperts I already did it temps are low
Honestly, I'm glad Acer makes their laptops so easy to disassemble and repair. I change the thermal paste on mine once every 2-3 months ( I know it's overkill, but I just use whatever's left from repasting friend's computers).
I need a compilation that is just every single "The Greatest Technician That's Ever Lived" completely stitched together, nothing else.
Wow this was made a year after I was born
your macbook is pregnant sir
I wish I could send my pc that I’m building to him

Is that a custom gpu shroud on the white 4090? I haven't seen any in white :(
As a technician, I’d like to buy and wear a shirt to work that said “the greatest technician that’s ever lived” and I’d be willing to pay around 30 dollars.
This is in the works.

I had a friend in highschool with a quasmio. He bought the display model so he got it cheaper. We took it apart to clean out the heatsink but I don't remember if we replaced the thermal paste. Took about an hour and a half, which was good because his parents were coming home shortly after that and he didn't want them knowing that we took it apart to clean it. I don't know why. The power brick was a beast in its own right. It was larger than my shoe and was almost as heavy as the laptop.
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing that!
I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same thing, but I do get him wanting to keep his parents in the dark about doing the maintenance himself. Parents can get really paranoid about their children working on stuff themselves. Idk whether they’re scared they’ll get hurt, or maybe it’s a money thing
@@muncherofpizza It's almost always a money thing in my experience. People usually aren't afraid of hurting themselves, they are afraid of doing it wrong and making the problem more expensive. At least at this scale
@@muncherofpizzaI could never do any such thing while my parents watch because I will 100% get into a fight with my father who'll claim I don't know what I'm doing - a completely false statement, but he really seems to think so and is rather stubborn.

you need to evict those pubes dude🤣🤣
I brought that product into Canada as the product manager for Toshiba Canada. It was originally focused on entertainment and featured HD-DVD drives, built in TV tuners, some with video capture, some with audio and video pass through. I connected my Xbox to it and leveraged the display and speakers. It then evolved into gamer focus. I still have a few pre production samples in my office.
This is amazing. Damn, audio and video pass through? I remember buying a capture card in 2011 to do this with my crappy HP laptop, it was terrible. Would love to see some of those samples!! People love this model. Thank you for sharing!
Man, a laptop with HD-DVD. How I wish I could see that timeline continued instead of broken off
@@muncherofpizzaWasn't Blu-ray better than HD DVD in every single way?
@@MrGamelover23 true, but that didn’t last long either. Maybe HD-DVD drive laptops would’ve been cheaper.
@@MrGamelover23for movies, debatable. A lot of early masters on hd-dvd were using more efficient codecs, and typically better picture quality than Blu-ray. Didnt really change until profile updates finally afforded the same on the latter. For frame of reference the codecs common on hd-dvd were efficient enough to work through the USB 2.0 ports of an xbox 360. Blu-ray needed 3.0 at minimum to avoid dropping more frames than a jail bird drops the soap.

I had a pair of Eurocom D901C Xeon laptops, 3 120gb SSD's in raid and 2x 8gb DDR3 ram with a Xeon cpu and a GeForce 8800M. Bought them used for $150 each.
I've never heard of these and when I Googled it I thought it was Photoshopped. This thing has 4 fans and heatsinks?
@@SalemTechsperts They were made by Sager and could run a pair of GPU's in SLI, running a X series Xeon meant a lot of heat so yes, 4 fans. It was a pretty neat setup, I sold one of them as a Linux rig and the other for parts as the case was damaged.
@@safn1949 that's awesome. Thanks for sharing! I looked on eBay and couldn't find this model, seems they've all been retired at this point. Would've loved to do a video on them!

How good of a gaming laptop was/is it tho?
My question to the greatest technician that has ever lived is:
What brand is the Toyota of the laptop industry (and still are)?
It really all depends on how you physically take care of the laptop. The higher end ThinkPad's and Dell Latitude's are still the best. Just save money and buy them used on eBay.
Thank you very much. I am a student and need a good laptop for my study. But I want it to go many years.
Man, your scripts are the best.
6:19 HOLY SAD.
Alternative title: The greatest technican that's ever lived roasts you.
Do you buy parts? I have a bunch of extra parts and I need a new power supply and help putting everything together 😅 any help would be appreciated I really enjoy your videos and plan on coming in once I’m able to pay for everything
Help!
My old HP laptop 8570w won't turn on but when I keep it without any battery or power (CMOS battery removed) for 6 to 8hrs it turn on I time with no display and full speed fan. I checked with no hardware just motherboard only but the motherboard is faulty. When plugged the supply orange light of battery blinks 01 time while connecting and death. However, if I remove the charger I'd resistor, laptop detects the charger is not HP charger by 9time white battery light blinking
0:02 I already laughed very loud.
1:59 That was oddly accurate? Are you following me?
5:18 HA HA HA HA XD!
5:26 Congratulations. You just bought an airplane.
How is the same guy who heavily curses my mom gives me very sound and amazing life advice? I’m very conflicted right now by…. THEGREATESTTECHNICIANTHATSEVERLIVED
Holy s*** The fact that that computer has two hard drive plugges and neither of them is an SSD plug of some kind, (mSATA or M.2) is interesting.
The only time I've seen two 2.5-in drives in a laptop is when someone replaces the disc drive (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) with a hard drive.
I love your videos. I am also self taught are run a repair shop on top of being a Director of IT. watching you is like watching myself. I mean really. It is kind of freaky. You make all the same decisions i do. So you may be "Co-Greatest Technician That Ever Lived." LOL
Just a small recommendation to help save money. I bought a $50 = hobby Air Compressor that I use to Blow out dust from my PCs. Not only does it save money, it's environmentally friendly.
Moisture also isn't an issue since I empty the air tank when I'm done.
Lastly, you never run out of Air - so it saves time....
I bought a gaming pc recently using katapult. Originally i WAS going to go for a ibuypower one byt when it refused to take katapult one week qhen i had the funds i said "fk it, going to try clx."
The PC i got instead actually was interesting. Originally i wanted a white tower but the tower would of cost $150 more for the specific pc i bought. Then there was an identical of the pc tower i was oicking but the white for it was $50. So i opted for just the basic black one that was part of the prebuilt option. Next day or 2 i got an email saying the specific brand for the specific pc was out and they were willing to change the tower to a different type free of charge. I asked if they had it in white. If not, no problem. They werent even sure if they even HAD the tower of the brand in stock at all [idr the brand but there was 2 types of towers from the brand i ordered.] So next day they got back to me and asked if i wanted a tower that looks alot like the white one in this video [where you can lift the glass on the side] and they'll make sure it's a white one. I said sure.
In the end, i got a $1400/$1500 pre built pc and a free $150+ tower upgrade in the style i planned to go for originally but seeing that price tag made me look away. It's MUCH easier to clean than taking it apart by sliding it out and trying to finagle the side of the tower by unscrewing it.
Seriously, i have a 2018 gaming pc that i never cleaned out because trying to figure out how to take the tower off was a pain. [Asus II black tower that has some red on it]
I'm happy with it and i'm glad i didnt take the risk with IBuyPower thanks to your videos. I'm not made of money and gaming pcs are a luxury. So i try my hardest to plan ahead. The customer service on CLX so far was really great so i'm hoping the brand is a good one.
Whats your opinion on CLX computers if you have one? Or ever worked on them.
Edit: the $150 InWin 101 chassis white is the tower i got upgraded to for free from the original Phanteks Eclipse P300A black chassis i had purchased.~
I have heavy artillery from 2011 using a Samsung monitor and a USB hub with a keyboard, mouse and speakers connected (Toshba Satellite L745-SP4201A)
I have an upgrade question. (NOT A REPAIR QUESTION). I would like yo upgrade my HP envy 17. Its a 2017 Bw000 model. Its slowing down and frankly I think it needs a cleaning and an upgraded SSD. Can you upgrade this model of laptop? I want to continue to use it and I want to know before sending it in.
This video ends depression in ten minutes and twenty eight seconds.
