I did the 'I'm sorry. please forgive me. Thank you! I love you!' To my child self, teen, twenties, thirties etc. It was very healing for me. I pictured myself at each decade and acknowledged challenges during that time and some felt guilt for things I did and then said the words. It brought me peace. I have been trying to say this when faced with challenging people before I respond and it has helped me tere as well. Thank you!

I'm working on healing my inner child by doing things that I liked to do as a child. I don't mean like playing with dolls (although that may help!), but my outlook was that of storytelling and boundless creativity. I'm working on embracing these traits through art. :)

I did EMDR because, a lot of the trauma happened before I was 5 years old. It helped me deal with issues I did not have word for.

I was once part of a group meditation that involed meeting your younger self. It was quire cathartic. A chance to say everything will work out fine.
Luckily I don't have too many wounds in my childhood. My parents were raised on the farm. We were raised in a Capitol city. I accepted that they did the best with what they knew. I forgave them the things that hurt me and much of it was not even a forgive situation. I came to accept some wounds that I thought I'd dealt with, would surface from time to time. I've always had the attitude that life is about challenges. It feels very dramatic at the time. You learn from it. No need to play victim.
As I approach 70, I'm still waiting for the wisdom part to kick in.

Salt floating tank session took me back & showed me my time in my mother's womb along with my birth.
I was shown the pure chaos and raw emotion she was in surrounding my birth.
Sweat lodge on sacred land was also extremely healing. An ancestor showed up years before I actually met them!
EMDR gave me so much tender healing.
Thank you Karen & all those here who share / support.

It definitely works. I've done shadow work in the past, it can seem scary but it's really relieving and releasing! And the part about just telling yourself thank you and hugging your younger self is SO POWERFUL! It can really help you recognize the parts that you didn't even realize we're damaged and effecting your everyday life 🫶

I’ve been doing inner child work since 1990. Therapy, rapid eye technology, and guided meditation have all been helpful to me. There are some interesting movies relative to this too. It’s been years since I’ve seen it, but Drop Dead Fred was a good one.

I've been working on inner child stuff with the Ho'oponopono prayer. Was working on one age and then realized I really needed to start at birth and do the prayer to myself and my parents as an infant and as my adult self while picturing the situation there. Born with issues and had to have medical interventions. & knowing my dad, it was a double whammy for me... born a female and born sick... I think it's where I get my feeling of not being wanted and being disliked and etc. Heavy stuff. Had to stop doing the child work for a bit bc it's been throwing me off my game. That simple prayer is powerful stuff!

There's so much here so I will write multiple comments. I hope this is okay :-)
The inner child work and talking to our parts is so wonderful. It helped me a lot. I'm trained as a psychotherapist but don't practice professionally but I certainly use it to help myself and share ideas and care with friends. One wonderful healing approach called parts therapy or internal family systems (IFS) is so wonderful and really incorporates so much of what you're saying. One of the most powerful healing approaches I learned and is so helpful for me is narrative therapy. Taking all of those moments throughout our lives from birth to the present (I'm 66) and weaving them into a continuous story loving ourselves through each moment just like you talked about is so healing. Taking this from the personal to the whole nation and the world, I wish we could do this for all humanity. In the United States, we have a history of genocide and enslavement. When we can learn to honor and love each part along the way, knowing that our nation and ourselves are all works and progress, then we can heal. That's the core of the truth and reconciliation process. I hope the United States can someday do this. See, I connected inner child work with the current politics because really, they are all one.😂❤

I've had trauma in my life which leaves me regressing internally to about 3 years old when I am hurting.
After many years of therapy, I have hugged my inner child and protected her.
One vision I saw was the White Buffalo Woman, from Native American lore, as a grandmother placing her buffalo robe around me and hugging me until my inner child was the one being hugged by her.
I think that this was a healing by my Native American Medicine Man Guide. Like he asked Grandmother Buffalo to heal my wounded spirit.
Whatever it was it helped me to heal and stay more in the here and now.

I've done these beautiful meditations where I take my inner childs hand and we go on a walk about and she can talk talk and let me know what she needs or feels. The memories you will have come up when you start to work with your inner child, be prepared. Both Trauma and gorgeous forgotten freedom joy feelings do come up. Then holding your inner child and letting her know she is loved so much and can let go, and that you got her back and are listening to her/ him/they now. To me inner child awareness is integrating what needs to be integrated fully and honored in this moment and is a ongoing process that feels very good to do. Thank you, I just love your channel Karen! 🫂🦋🫶🏻💙

I did the prayer several times last week and I don't know if it's a coincidence cuz I don't believe in them, but for the next several days I had a weird headache and I had some horrible intestinal issues. Just makes me wonder if I am purging some stuff. Has anyone else had this reaction to that?

I'm not certain how much information would be helpful to share. As a retired psychotherapist with over 20 years experience, LCSW licensed holding a M.S., degree in psychology. EMDR level II certified, arts therapy certified, group certified, sand dray trained, with a focus on treating trauma in early childhood, and guest lecturer at Loyola U. I would be happy to attempt to answer questions anyone would have regarding healing from childhood trauma. My training from Southern Illinios U/Edwardsville was in child development.

    Hi Karen.
I had to do an inner child clearing regarding my three year old. I came very close to being snatched by a pedophile. When I was 13, I had the same dream two nights in a row that felt very real. I asked my mother about them, and she said yes it had happened... I was intrigued by the memory recall, and she died young before I could ask more about it... As an adult, I saw how it affected me throughout my life. I think these healings are given to release heavy dross keeping us from ascension ... 💛💛💛
