    You're the 1st person that I've run across that actually shows exactly where the front jacking point is 👍

      👍I thought showing the front jacking point might be helpful to someone since I had a hard time finding many sources on it

    Thank you for doing this video. I just had my 30 K mile service done last month @Irvine Subaru here in Ca. A weird thing happened though, after the service when it shifted in 4th gear it scraped. I took it back and a week later it migrated down to 3rd gear when I shifted it scraped. My 2020 STI was in the shop all of May. I got the car back in the beginning of June. The head mechanic @irvine Subaru went over my car with a fine tooth comb. It's shifting and running better than ever. They replaced the 3rd and 4th gear synchros in the transmission. Maybe they had someone the first inexperienced working on it the first time. A learning experience for me. I know my car. A great video brother. Subies forever. I'm @44K miles. I will change my clutch @70k. Take care and keep up the great videos. You are very lucky to be able to work on your car. 😊

      Ouch!! Thanks for sharing your story! That’s the worst feeling getting your car worked on at a professional shop and them not following the proper steps or ending up with damage to your car, especially something as valuable as the STI 😢 I still have to go to the pros for the things I can’t do but experiences like these are one of the reasons that encourage me to try to do things I’m able to myself. Thanks for continuing to tune in! There will be more to come ✌️

      @@STi_Alan No problem brother. I am a retired Aviation Electrician from the Navy and I am now a Facilities technician and mechanical technician. I can do the maintenance on my Bluebaru but I just don't have the time and a place to do it. It's great to watch you TH-camrs do the work. It helps me to appreciate our beautiful platform.

      I bought my 2020 STI from Irvine Subaru. They did the same service for me at about 33k but it didn’t get that issue luckily. However, I did just get my cat replaced at 54k due to intake leak issues… fortunately that was covered.

      @@TheU2bstud 😮 glad they covered the intake leak and hopefully it didn’t take to long for them to fix it!

      4th gear grind is a very common issue after replacing the fluid

    Thank you for the video, it is really helpful. However, based on 202 STI service manual, both filelr plug and drain plug of the 10mm Hex type should be torqued to 36.9 ft-lb. The T70 TORX drain plug should be torqued to 51.6 ft-lb. BTW, the front jack point is spot on.

      Thanks for the information! I got my torque specs from others who've also done the transmission flush but you definitely can't go wrong with the official service manual specs

    Thx for great content and help to community....BUT.
    Your car is not leveled properly. So chance fill your transmission up properly is quite small.

      Yep that’s correct! The fluid you put in that one fill hole goes to both the front diff and trans

    Car needs to be level to drain and fill trans, front diff and rear diff. Either get it on 4 level jack stands or do it on a hoist. Doing it the way this guy did in the video is incorrect and may cause damage down the line because not all the old fluid gets drained and being at that angle doesn't get filled up to the correct level.

  • @supreme2544
    @supreme2544 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Not an accurate fill and drain when the car is angled on jack stands.
