I would recommend jacking up the front end of the car too and having it level so you get more fluid out and the proper amount in there. Awesome video tho!
Good shit keep it up 🤙 I got my STi (2015 Launch Edition) on the 1st of the year at 57k miles already put about 10k on it and love it. Wasn’t aware of the 30k change so appreciate it 😘
The most important tip here is to not drain and fill the fluid of the rear diff while it's at an angle like that. You have to make sure you lift the entire car so it's level before draining and filling the fluids. If you do it the way shown in this video, you are not emptying all the old fluid, and then you are over filling the diff if you wait for it to spill out of the fill hole. This is not good. The extra pressure needs to go somewhere, and that will be the the rear diff drive shaft seals. They will break and start leaking. Please everyone, when doing rear diff, transmission and front diff fluid changes, it must be done with the car level.
Great video, 2 questions though- You say at the end that you ended up adding slightly MORE than 1 qt? So I'm assuming I should grab 2 just in case, and secondly, shouldn't the car be level in order to get all the old oil out? Just curious as I'm about to do mine :)
Thank you! Yes it seems like it's common for people to add just a bit over 1 qt to get a confident full so it's good to have an extra one just in case. If you can, it's ideal for the car to be as level as possible so you know you're not over/under filling it, otherwise if you can't and you're really concerned about the oil levels, having a container where you can measure how much of the old oil comes out should give you a good gauge of how well you emptied it and how much oil to put back in.

Great video with those gasket part numbers....keep these videos coming!!
Haha thank you!! I figured knowing which gaskets to get would be what I’d really want to know too. Stay tuned!

Thanks man!! Glad I could help ✌That's awesome, the combination of the WRB and gold wheels on the launch edition are such an iconic look!

Thak you for the video, it is really helpful. However, based on 2020 STI service manual, both fill and drain plugs should be torqued to 44.3 ft-lb.
Thanks for the information!

Just did mine transmission and rear diff yesterday with OEM extra s fluid.
Nice work!! 👍
Thanks for the videos dude, I only have ramps you think that’s fine for doing trans and both diffs?
no problem! As long as the car is secure and you have enough room to work underneath, I don't see why the ramps wouldn't work 👍
Good stuff mane ! Got almost 49k on my Sti , bought it with 43k miles . Gonna be doing fluids and spark plugs soon
Awesome!! Have fun with your maintenance!
incredible tutorial, i’m inspired 🤩
Thanks! ✌
Hey man, its been 9 months since you uploaded this video. How was that Redline 75W90 treating the rear diff?
So far so good! I haven't had any problems
Great new video!
Thanks you!
