Was wondering if you recommend to replace the crush washers? For the front diff drain bolt, I've used both a copper crush washer and aluminum crush washer and it still leaks a bit. Not sure if there's another type of crush washer I can use.
Replacing crush washers is always recommended because its a cheap insurance for leaks (a few cents). With that said though, I don't replace crush washers if everything was fine, and many many others do the same with no issues. Check your torque settings on the bolts to make sure you torqued it down enough. Not sure if there will be a difference between aluminum vs copper. But I can be wrong. Make sure your surface is clean of debris and if you want a little insurance you can always try adding a very thinnnn layer of RTV black for some extra sealing. Make sure you read the instructions on curing the RTV.
Hey man. I see other videos where they remove the tmi and fill from the dipstick hole. Is there any advantage to that i.e. more accurate fill level. Thanks
I don't think the STi's had transmission dipsticks. The way you measure fluid level is the fill hole. Once fluid stops or begins to just barely dribble out of it when the car is level, then its full.
Great job brother 💯
thank you!

Is 5 bottles of gear oil enough for the transmission and differential? Thanks
Yup! About 4 quarts should fill up your transmission and 1 quart should be just about right for the rear diff.
Did yoy use 22 mm deep for the sensor plug. I have a 2011 sti.
yup for my 2008 sti it was a 22 deep socket. I think you should be the same. I think they changed it to 24 deep on the 2015+
@@HazardGarage Right on thanks for getting back at me.
How do you fill the front diff? Or does the front diff and transmission uses the same fill hole?
front diff shares a case with the transmission so you fill the same hole. There are 2 separate drain plugs though.
