The face lift rear lights are much nicer than the older A3.
A petrol must be a better buy on a old car? Less to go wrong

I used to sell this era of Audis. They're decent, though a bit hard of a ride. The 1.6 was a bit gutless unless you got the tfsi model with an extra 15bhp, and a 6th gear.

This will sell no problem Lee, there’s always the young ones who love Audi but can’t afford the prices for the newer models and compromise with the older models and the 1.6 keeps the insurance down, nice one Lee

Good cars these, I had a 2.0 tdi from new never gave any major problems little annoying things like window mechanisms, fan blower burnt out then the climate started playing up with the vent controls but overwise great motors 👍

I had one of these in stock, black S line on a 59 plate, nice car but took ages to sell. They may demand a premium but not many end up paying it, was my experience on it.

A Petrol A3 with loads of specs few owners and good service history tick a lot of boxes, it should sell well, but as milage ramps on the likes of those Germanic Diesel cars they can indeed can be trouble it's then the Money light starts to come on getting choked up.... glow plugs, turbos, DPF, EGR Valves, Injectors, waste gate Actuators and linkages, allied with those brittle and cracked plastic parts buried is weird places to contend with, many older diesels come back to bite folks big time, Great Upload.

    Great vid Lee.
Glove boxes on these are a weak point they all break I replaced mine in my old 2008 TDI. Little repair kits all over eBay..
Great cars age well in some ways the petrol is the way to go especially if for around town. DPF issues at this age had a nightmare with mine…

Looks a smart car Lee, we have a 64 plate face lift with longer boot A3 rag top which we have had from new and there is nothing in the market to tempt us out of it. Ulez compliant is a bonus, that said my 1963 Triumph Herald Pickup is too which seems crazy. Cheers K.

Never had one of these but used to drive an A6, the point about those cars is that they have an aluminium body so none of the welding issues on mot makes them cheaper in the long run apparently. Always reliable apart from the odd electrical problem.

Car looks tidy apart from the trim niggles. Agree with you that £4000 retail might be pushing it a bit, it is after all a fifteen year old motor and must be a "towny" to have only rinsed on six thou a year. Next owner need to budget for a clutch if it's not been done

I used to have a 2007 pre facelift 2.0 tdi s line. It started to lose a bit of water before I got rid but it did have nearly 140k on it. The only other issue I had was water getting in to the rear wiper motor which was setting the alarm off. Ive also had a few 8V s lines and an S3 and they have been pretty relaible.

You'd have thought that with that car that the petrol engine would be more in demand than the diesel. Being a 2008 model, the diesel version would be clobbered for ULEZ charges if it was ever to go to ULEZ zones, whereas the petrol being newer than 2006 would be compliant, so why on earth dealers would favour the diesel is a bit strange. I know Crewe doesnt have a ULEZ yet, but things can change, especially as we could be due a Labour government later this year, and you never know which way Starmer will swing as regards introducing new CAZ and ULEZ zones everywhere. Better to stick to petrol if the car is older than 2015.
