Our house's Larson door had been locked for months and no key would work for it. I removed the plate and the door handles to examine the mechanism. Nothing appeared broken, but nothing was working either. I watched this video. Sprayed some WD 40 in the areas I could reach and voila, it worked! Thanks bundles, the wife thinks I'm a genius again. ; ))
The last time I saw a man with that many keys was when I was watching Captain Kangaroo.
Thank you for the idea! My storm door lock was stuck. Took the interior cover plate and handle off. Because the lock was in position, * couldn't get the cover plate completely off. Then I said U of YT has to have something on this. Got to your vid and realized lube is it! Lubed the inside where I could (really wasn't needed) then went outside on the other side where the lock was exposed a little and lubed up with WD40. Went back inside and voila it was smooth unlocking! This gal (who always has a sailor who used to install doors and windows before joining the mili life) is beyond grateful for your video! Thank you kind sir for sharing with the rest of the world. It's just me and my little right now and my sailor is not able to do what he usually does on our properties, so this time I'm the one fixing/repairing and remodeling our new home - including dealing with a stuck storm door lock with no key 😭! If your lock is stuck, loosen the two screws on the inside holding the backplates together. That should relieve the pressure on the lock tumbler. After you get the door open, get the tumbler nice and centered before retightening the screws.
You are lucky. Ours is stuck locked with the door shut. We cannot open the door.

Take an Allen key and take the handle apart on the outside you can slide the dead bolt in once the plates and handles are out
@@karlzumwalt8385 There are two deadbolts on that storm door. Mine is stuck at the bottom (latch you turn) one not the handle. BUUUT we did get it off. I do think that unscrewing the whole thing and having the handle off took the pressure off. We used WD40 on it but ultimately when the bottom latch was IN the hole on the door, it's catching on something, but at least we got it open!
How do you fix if the locks just keeps turning and turning never actually locks
My silicon was in freezing garage. I sprayed some WD-40 for now...........Works like a charm!!! Had to work it a bit like you do in the vid. And to think, I was all set to buy a new mortise!

Wow! Thought I would be working on it all day today or have to go and buy a new lock. It behooves ppl like myself to check YT because they just may run across a video like this that wont cause you to leave your house because you have WD40 at home already and when you spray it on your screen door it works like a charm! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! You turned a what could’ve been “all-day costly event” not less than 10 seconds of a couple of sprays. I said all that to say, the WD-40 worked for me too. 🤣🤣

Hello what to do when you don't have a key and the deadbolt won't open while the door is close. The handle is made like that one.
