    I have been trying to get spare keys made but nobody has the correct blank. Now, thanks to your video, I removed 2 wafers and I now have 4 keys. Many thanks to you.

    I just need to change the lock cylinder... Your video was very helpful for that and more. Thank you for the detailed video.

    That wafer popper at clk supplies is well worth the price for saving your hands from getting jabbed or shooting wafers and springs across the van. Thanks for sharing✌🏼.

    Excellent training video on wafer rekeying. I have exactly one generic wafer kit, and maybe 50 percent of the time the wafers fit, and most of the rest of the time the file makes them fit.

    Nice video Jason. Larson does make a kwikset and shlage key plug. It comes with a slightly modified outer plate and they want $30.00 more dollars for it. It may be worth it if you want to match your entry door key.

    Great video. Well I have used in the past myself is if I don’t have anything in a camlock that will actually work I have also used to wait for locks from automotive kits sometimes they work as well in pretty handy for springs if you need them as well or like you said doing some modifications to the wife are also will get you out of the woods if you need it to you.

    Thank you Jason. Storm doors, sliding doors and such can be a pain in the .… I needed to make a key for mine and that went completely south when I turned it over and dropped the two little springs that are near the tail piece. I guess I’ll order a new one. Any suggestions on your best source for Larson wafer cylinders ? Thanks !!

    @SE Lock and Key Do you know where you could buy a new cylinder (preferably with cut keys)?

    This part fell out of my door- how do I put it back in?

    Hey which kit was the one you used. I want one..... Extract the key slowly and watch the cuts pass the wafers, you'll see other matches.

    Something groovy about Larson. You can special order these rekeyable trim plates ($40) that makes it a pin tumbler lock(Sch1 or Kw1) Put that on a door that's got laminated shatter proof glass with a 3 point lock, you almost don't need another lock.... (almost)

  • @thomassawyer6523
    @thomassawyer6523 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quick question: If the internal knob to that tumbler lock gets hard to close and open, is there anything other than having to rekey the lock to get it to open and close smoothly again (other than buying and replacing the entire internal mechanism inside the storm door from Larson)?
    Subscribed, fine technical video, far different from rekeying a Schlage door lock/deadbolt set.

      Lubricant? Not graphite. Get LPS-1, TriFlow, Houdini and spray it down!

    Hi Jason! Can u do a video on master keying systems? Like a tutorial

    • @selock
      @selock  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’d rather run into another graphite balloon twice than field the comments on a MK video 😂😂

    • @pouncerminned863
      @pouncerminned863 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@selock yea. I see so many comments in mk videos saying it’s wrong etc. I’m trying to determine “correct” way

    I didn't know you could master key a wafer locks.🤔

    • @steamgadget
      @steamgadget 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You gotta use special wafers to do it..... And apparently those wafer kits are damn hard to find.

  • @pjdambra
    @pjdambra 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    All wafers have a universal wafer. It’s called a file..

  • @steamgadget

    One wafer thin mint... Is all I can think

  • @pjdambra
    @pjdambra 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I swap what I can, then just file the odd one. It's Not a security lock anyway.
