88 f150 5.0l. It was losing power terribly going up hills, no cel, no codes. Thought maybe the throttle body was gummy so I cleaned it with no change. Ended up being the pickup coil inside the distributor was bad. I couldn't get just the pickup coil so I had to get a whole distributor, it probably worked out as it came with cap, rotor and ignition module. Runs like a champ now, thanks!!

Thanx Bro 😎 I had the opposite problem 4yrs ago when it would get stuck in full high rpm rev mode and I had to slam the brakes on so I didn’t fly into cross traffic. Now its getting stuck and the truck don’t move except in jerking random motion. The solution is valve cleaner spray and a toothbrush 😎thanx

I used to work on a lot of Crown Vics with 5.0 and The throttle body would gum up and the idle would drop to nearly nothing. Id hold the throttle open , spray it with 2+2 and scrub it with a toothbrush, cleaned it right up. Sometimes it can take the coating off of the t b but on those old cars it didn’t matter.

It's a abandoned vehicle left in a field for 6 years so lots of mouse damage but after 4 months of working on it with unknown amount of money its running and driving but more little problems keep showing up after I fix one thing.
