0:00 Introduction: How to support a healthy heart
0:35 Benefits of garlic for the heart
    7:35 Key points
8:09 The best drink to support the heart
9:17 Check out my other video on garlic!
Today we’re going to talk about how garlic can help support a healthy heart.
Anything in this video is not meant to diagnose or replace your medical care. Check with your doctor before implementing this.
Garlic has shown similar effects to standard blood pressure lowering medications. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what garlic can do for the heart.
Additional health benefits of garlic for the heart:
    • It’s antiviral
    • It’s antifungal
    • It’s antibacterial
    • It may help with TB and H. pylori
    • It may help kill worms and parasites
    • It can help lower insulin and improve insulin resistance
    • It may decrease the risk of cancer
    • It’s anti-inflammatory and may help with arthritis
    • It can help increase endurance
A compound called thromboxane can occur in your body after injury or inflammation and can lead to serious problems with the heart. However, a few things can inhibit this compound, including blood thinners, garlic, and olive oil.
Garlic can help reduce the risk of clots. It also has natural properties that can potentially help lower blood pressure, reduce artery stiffness, and lower your calcium score.
It may also help balance lipids and cholesterol and help a person produce more bile, which then helps regulate cholesterol. It may even help with something called infective endocarditis because it’s very antimicrobial.
Garlic water is one of the best things you can drink to help support a healthy heart, and it’s simple to make. All you need to do is crush one garlic clove and stir it into 8 to 12 ounces of water. Then, mix one teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil into the water, let it sit for about 15 minutes, and drink up.
You can also add more garlic to your recipes or take a supplement.

I had tow cloves of garlic with an 8oz bottle of room temperature water and within an hour I could move my neck and my headache lessened. Thanks for sharing this life saving information. Point is while Drs may now lots about pharmaceuticals from school. Most spend many years just trying to pay off their 8 years of student loans and do not have the time to keep up on Doctors that do research and publish it.
Point I am am making is that Dr Berg is providing the research (by valid Drs that do research) with links so that you can if you want do your own research and bring it to your doctor to together consider.

Yes, this very likely explains why my dad is the record holder for age in our family tree. Decades ago he'd read about the amazing health benefits of garlic. He starts his day with a tablespoon of crushed garlic in olive oil. And he's avoided the health issues, like cancer and heart disease, that have plagued our family. And what's interesting is that his diet is far from healthy. I think that speaks to the powerful health benefits of garlic.

Been making a daily concoction for
my husband to take each day before work for a couple years now. I crush and dice a clove or two of organic garlic, which releases the powerful compound, allicin , then add about a TSP of organic honey, and a TBS of good olive oil, then squeeze a quarter slice of fresh lemon in, and stir. It sits for a bit until he is ready to leave for work. Sometimes I will even grate a little ginger into the mix. His job requires alot of public contact, but stays very healthy.

Dr. Berg.. there are no words to describe how much you are appreciated to me and many others.
The topic of garlic is always on going in my household. I have been eating at least a clove every day for about 30 years. I have always told people, it makes me feel like my blood has been cleansed.
Definitely, is true from your explanation.. garlic does clean the blood. I didn't really know all the ins and outs of how and what it did. I just knew it helped me. I knew it was a natural antibiotic, so I've raised my family with it... no antibiotics for us...
The topic of worms for dogs. I gave my dogs garlic. They never had worms. I was screamed at for feeding a dog garlic as people said it would kill them.
I have shared eating garlic with anyone and everyone that would listen.
One friend stopped her insulin medication due to eating garlic. Another high blood pressure meds. and another thyroid meds (along with other changes in lifestyle )
Love your heart, Dr. Berg. I was just sharing with someone how you "give" so much needed information to the world freely. You are a God send. ♥

This is interesting and the timing is funny: about three weeks ago, I made a 28 oz. Cup of lemon water. Merely by accident (in another bowl), I had two cloves of peeled garlic. I was going to chew on them during dinner. Then, both cloves accidentally fell into my lemon water. Instead of throwing it out, I said to myself “what the hell…just keep it in the water.” I left it in it over night and it was so damn good with lemon. Then, I added some cayenne pepper, turmeric into the mix and I truly came across an awesome elixir. It tastes orgasmic. My new go to drink. I even added cardamom into it. So, so good.

Great vid, and I have been following Dr Bergs advice for a few years now, I eat garlic every day, home grown, but I cannot get my blood pressure down below, 143/76 , pulse 45 I have to admit that I am 70 years old and that may be the problem, but I will keep working on the healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Berg has some excellent advice, but there are times when just diet is not enough. Age is not a reason for hypertension, cardiac, kidney, or circulatory disease is. By all means keep the healthiest lifestyle you can, but some times we need to follow recommendations for meds or interventions. Best wishes.

But we don't rly have reversion documented. But I'd still like to belive the body can reverse in right circumstances. Still pulling such a diet of is not easy for minor reward

    Question 1:
When you say crushing the garlic, do you mean to leave it as 1 piece and then swallow that 1 piece (without chewing) while drinking the water or we can slice the garlic in very little pieces and add them in the water ?
    Question 2:
Do we need the water or simply adding olive oil on the crushed garlic will do ?
    Thank you!

    • @albertoe.martinez7763
      @albertoe.martinez7763 2 ปีที่แล้ว

You need to crush the garlic to break the inner sacs of distinct compounds inside the garlic, which in turn after mixing for around 5 to 10 minutes will produce the key compound which is the key to most of the benefits garlic delivers, this is Allicine. I actually leave the garlic on small pile for about 10 to 15 minutes and after is when I add the water.
