I bought a 3d printer about a month ago and has already gone through 8 spools of filament having a blast :). I also printed dice towers, there's a really neat model on printables with print in place hinges and multiple channels. If you want to make them more quiet you can add some felt in the tray and possibly in the structure as well if you can get access to it. Works wonders for the noise. Great video as always!

Thanks, fellow 3d print enthusiast! I have some EVA foam sheets and thought about using that, but it's thicker than felt, so I think it might prevent the dice from rolling out. I should probably get some felt.

I've been thinking about getting one for a while but can never pull the trigger. I feel like it would be a huge time-sink for me and I'd spend more time finding/printing/painting stuff than actually playing anything! I still play Marvel Champions true-solo (and I use dice instead of the health dials) but have started playing Arkham Horror two-handed and some card holders might be nice!

If you paint, then I can see it eating up your hobby time. Since I don't, there's only so much it can occupy me because it prints so slowly!
I use dice to track everything except health in MC. Maybe just out of habit?

I wish I had a printer and a place to let it run. I have been looking for a very specific dice tower for awhile now and have had no luck, so if you come across one that is High Gothic Grimdark (Space Hulk) that spills the dice onto a 3x3 grid, please let me know. I like the one that sounds like bolter fire😉.

      Bolter fire! Ha!
This is close to what you're looking for, but the grid is a bit off. You could make your own landing area for it, though: www.thingiverse.com/thing:3577456
My printer does take up quite a bit of space, but I did start with this little guy: amzn.to/435v2M8
Now, the heat sensor went out twice because of stress put on it when changing the nozzle, which for some reason it requires a lot, but it's 1. preassembled and 2. very small (maybe too small to print that dice tower)

That dice tower is near perfect, and yes the base grid can be made to fit my need as the idea I have is to utilize the dice tower and the base to determine where enemies and objects are placed in the room when the door is opened. This is part of the exploration mechanic in the game I have been working on. The tower could be a basic square with a grid label in the base, but I like the idea of the tower fitting in with my terrain on the table.

@@kevinstricklen7579 I'm sorry. I'm not getting notifications for comments to my comments, only to the video.
I've only seen one game that did something like what you are saying to determine enemy location. I think it's a really cool idea

It's an Anycubic Kobra Go. I ordered it directly from the manufacturer
