The lyrics hit hard, the solo 👌🔥 and myles vocals makes this song so epic.
Alter Bridge is incredible and their musicianship and songwriting is on another level to other hard rock bands today. Blackbird is one of the greatest rock songs ever written.
Musically and lyrically, it's a masterpiece. Myles wrote the song about a friend while they were, suffering with terminal cancer, the lyrics speak to hoping that his friend Mark would find peace and that he could be free of his pain. Anyone who has experienced grief can relate to what Myles is singing about.
The solo is beautiful and it's special for being a back to back dual solo between Myles and Mark. Myles comes first with the emotional blues solo and Mark tags in at the height of the solo to bring the shred. They work perfectly in sync to compliment each other and create a perfect solo which genuinely sounds like a final send-off to loved one. I'll never get tired of it.
An epic
Myles Kennedy on vocals here. Mark, though great in his own right, ain’t hitting those notes! Great tune. Great band! First half of solo was Myles, and second half was Mark Tremonti. Both differing styles that work so well together! Side note: Myles sings the last line of the song without taking a breath for a full 31 or 32 seconds!
Lastly, I can’t narrow down a top 5 list for AB. Too many great songs!

They used to be amazing live back when Myles wasn't trying to protect his voice. Nowadays? Not so sure. Amsterdam is their best live performance.

Now you gotta see them perform this live at amsterdamn, one of the greatest live performances i honestly think.
Gonna see them April 1st at Yaamava theater in So CA for the 1st time and it's gonna be epic and awesome. 7 albums to choose from now plus 3 live albums. Could it be that they're actually pretty damn good? You tell me, but IMHO they're great and even better live from all that I've seen. Just wish that they would get the accolades that they deserve. They're much bigger in Europe than they are in USA, even tho they're from here, out of Florida. The N American tour is going great right now and they're selling places out, so maybe they're finally catching on here.

Did I miss it or did you? Alter Bridge with the Parallax Orchestra Live at The Royal Albert Hall. Amazing..DVD also.. Myles Kennedy is a sublime vocalist and brilliant guitarist as evidenced by this solo with Mark. Might not be the best solo of all time but it's pretty epic anyway.

I HAVE seen Alter Bridge Live. I've seen them 6 times. Each time has been me doing photos for them. I am an internationally published concert photographer of ten years, Alter Bridge is the band that actually saved my life (literally), and my favorite band to work with. Guitarist Mark Tremonti has now released 5 solo metal albums since 2012 and they're all absolute BANGERS. Start with the record 'All I Was' and the song "You Waste Your Time" (thank me later).
Shane, sorry I made you cry with "Blackbird" but I have a feeling that Tremonti will lift you back up. It's full of lead and gasoline and doesn't let up.

@@brandonhanks8693 Fortress is their most EPIC album. Blackbird has their most Iconic song. ABII just hit me the hardest I guess with the tone of songs and the time of my life this it came out.

@@brandonhanks8693 I'm not knocking your list at all. After I listen more the the last 2 albums, One Day remains might not even be in my top 5 somehow. That just sounds crazy to me, but it could happen. Last Hero is kind of like the Rocky 5 of Alter Bridge, so I don't blame you for leaving it out of your top 5.
For context - that “best solo ever” title was from a poll with a big fan vote, and AB fans absolutely flooded it and obscured the votes 😅 Still my favorite song of all time, but “best” solo is debatable.

Great reaction Shane. You really should (in your own time) give a watch and listen to AB playing this song at Wembley, watch them do this song live, it's really good, Miles did a little with tribute to kick it of to the Beatles and also an explanation for the lyrics.

I agree on the hit or miss. But Myles can sing. Saw him with Slash a couple of times.

@@ShaneDiablo Joe Foreman the singer I think is christian. It says they had success in the Christian rock scene. Check out Meant To Live or something like that by Switchfoot it has that christian vibe
They started out as a “Christian” band but like the majority of them, once success comes their way they quickly abandon any semblance of faith. As a Christian, I miss the days of Petra who weren’t ashamed of their creed. There are still a few who shine the light though and am thankful for those.

As far as solo goes not even as good a what Slash has given us much less even touch the solo at the end of Free Bird. Let down by the claim of best solo ever
Lol! Freebird?!! Its just long. Not remotely complex. Slash has distinctive style and tone - but I’ll take Tremonti’s solos 10 out of 10 times! Slash is overrated
