I literally laughed out loud when he said that. !! Mr Mark Tremonti!! One of the Baddest 🎸 players on the planet!! Now Miles Kennedy ain't no slouch on the fiddle But I would agree Mark is the Lead and Miles is the rhythm that plays lead as well!! Miles is amazingly talented!
Kinda awesome when it is hard (for me anyway) to tell the difference! Maybe like Dave Mustaine and Kiko Loureiro from Megadeth? Although Kiko's leads SOAR!
I just cant grasp how a guitar teacher doesn't know EXACTLY who Mark Tremonti is. Probably the leading man for the guitar dudes holding right now !! Love me some Paul Reed Smith fiddles, Mark and Miles both have signature PRSs !!
So...your lead vocalist there, Myles Kennedy, started off as a lead guitarist and guitar teacher. And has a wee bit of confidence issues with singing. Which is nuts, because he's widely regarded as one of the best male rock singers of modern times. Man's voice is amazing. Hell. He's sick in this concert if I remember right. This guitar solo won the best guitar solo for the year the song came out in. Betwen Myles and Mark Tremonti, they are amazing players, and both are amazing singers.
Wow - isn't that amazing to think of him as having a lack of confidence! He's performance seems FULL of confidence. Thank you for the comments and please let me know if there are other songs from Alter Bridge or others you'd like to see. We are also building out our community on Discord so we can have on-going discussions about music theory and good (or ot-so-good) bands! Soon I'll post a link or two! Thanks again
Ya he’s only finally now starting to look his age now that he’s in his early 50’s. I agree - he looked around 30 for about 20 years prior! Voice still sounds just as great today!
This band are amazing, and all of the members are brilliant in their own right, but Myles and Mark together are just magic, both the guitar voicings and then also vocals on songs where they both sing. Words Darker Than Their Wings is a perfect example of that, or my favourite, Stay. Highly recommend you checking them out. But great reaction!!
I love watching people react to the performance of Words Darker at the Royal Albert Hall. Myles is one of the best vocalists I've ever heard. Got the pleasure of meeting him after their show in Seattle during the Fortress tour, and he is one of the nicest people. He and the whole band chatting with the fans who were still hanging out for a good while after the show, despite the fact that it was chilly and drizzling that night. Mark even showed us video of Wolfvang Van Halen recording bass for Tremonti's second album. Such a cool experience, and it's a shame I haven't been able to see them live since. I'm hoping they tour this year so I can get to a show.
I've been enjoying watching them in a variety of vids! It's super cool when a band can truly perform at a very high level. I'll add more Alter Bridge to our vid list! Lots to learn from this band for me!
I know eh!? Myles Kennedy is so awesome! Hard to believe he’s already in his early 50’s now and still sounds just as great💪. Consummate professional musician who takes great care of his voice! Great band AlterBridge!
Interesting fact: The permanent ringing in the ears (Tinnitus) is something that Myles Kennedy has 😢 Another interesting fact: Alter Bridge don't have bad songs. Please check Cry Of Achilles next, please!! (Lyrics version)
It's good you mentioned tinnitus. I came of age in the 80s playing metal at full blast not knowing any better. My T can be debilitating at times, and there is no cure.
Yes, if I would have protected my ears a bit more way back in the day however at least now I can take steps! MAYBE we will have a cure one day! I keep looking at websites related to studies related to tinnitus! THANK YOU for the comment. It is appreciated
I think that the song "Awakening" from Unleash The Archers would be a great one to break down. Lots of intense riffs and some cool solos that compliment the powerhouse of a lead singer very well.
hey , you thought me something today, had no clue Blackbird wasn't from Alter Bridge, hell apparently its McCartney.... well , you live you learn :W and you tell me, ive been a lover for Slayer's "War Ensemble" for a long time, both guitars sound so good :D
Alter Bridge’s Blackbird was written for a friend of Myles who had a terminal desease at the time, this friend sold him his first guitar and taught him how to play Blackbird by the Beetles. When he plays it live he starts with the Beetles intro, not the case for the recorded version.
Well, it is probably a mistake to try to classify everyone, especially when they are ALL so amazingly talented! Thanks for the comment and for watching! I do truly appreciate it!
@@treblelife It struck me as a little odd. Mark tremonti has never been a secondary or rhythm guitarist. In fact, he's well known for being one of the greatest lead guitarists in the world. Furthermore, the late Eddie Van Halen once referred to him as the greatest lead guitarist of the modern hard Rock and metal era. Of course, I'm paraphrasing him.
I have ringing in my ears also but being an old fart and seeing God knows how many groups in my life its pretty much a given your ears will pay the price. ACDC four times I think did it. I felt like someone took an ice pick and jabbed it in my ears at one of the shows. It also feels like your insides are being re-arranged. It was very cool back than but years later welcome to Tinnitus. Protect your ears young people you won't regret it later on.
Shows how much I know! I was looking for the SONG - Synyster Gates! LOL Now that I know - I am listening to "Hail to the King" and "Nightmare"! Thanks for the suggestion - and for watching and commenting! Means a TON to me.
@@treblelife I'm gonna make some recommendations to really highlight Synyster Gates(yeah I should have clarified that that's the guitarist haha) So songs to check out: Nobody M.I.A. So you never heard nor know Mark Tremonti? I am an Indian and a grown up now. If an Indian knows members of Creed and Alter Bridge and how we appreciate their songs and compositions...may be we follow more music than someone like you.
I will! Promise - thanks for the comment. Even after all these years, I still get nervous playing during vid recording! (the value of performing LIVE more!)
One of the greatest songs ever written by maybe the greatest underrated band of all time.
The “rhythm guitarist” is actually the lead guitarist 😂
I mean. Between Myles and Mark....who would you peg as lead? They are both amazing players, so I can understand his confusion.
I also came down here to say this. I wonder if this would make Mark laugh as much as it did me.
@@peterworth9403 I would say Mark is the lead

@@treblelife you should check Metalingus, Waters Rising, Slip to the Void and Words darker than their wings. Great songs!
That nice young guy is 42 on that video :D

Be respectful. Never pause in the middle of the solos !!!!

One of my faves has always been "Godspeed." Such a great song.

The singer was very sick that day, so if you like his voice now, imagine how he sounds when he's healthy 😊
Thank you for your great reaction to Alter Bridge. great band.
What a great song
Agreed!

Mark (Short/hair Balding) is the lead guitarist and Myles (Long Hair) is the Rhythm guitarist
You need to STOP PAUSING IN MIDDLE OF THE SOLOS . “@&””-/!!!
Myles Kennedy, the singer, is also singing in Slash's band. You should also check his work there

Pausing in the middle of one of the best guitar solos??????😂😂
Yeah not cool to do.
Recommendation: go back 10 seconds every time you stop.
THANKS - I WILL, promise. Watch for it next time! : )
Ended it too early. There were still guitar licks at the end.

Much love listen first then you got it
Always good advice! Thanks very much and thanks for listening and your comment!
Who's with me on this!!
Well, I'm not! :)
I believe Mark plays this song in Standard and Myles plays in Drop D.

React to "Fish Rock" by thaikudam bridge. Its an indian rock band
