    Myles had said in numerous interviews that he has always been more comfortable as a guitar player than a singer as you can see some of his guitar skills in this video. He kinda just became the singer out of necessity. You should check out what he does with Slash. Look for "Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators".

      Unfortunately I don't think they have many tracks on this level. All of their albums have a standout track or two, but by and large they're full of generic rock. Blackbird was a rare moment of true inspiration, and I'm glad it's found an audience. It's a shame because Myles is a superb singer, and Tremonti has grown leaps-and-bounds as a guitar player since Creed, but they're one of those bands that almost never take chances or risks and stay rooted in a particular sound that was already dated in the early-00s.

    • @RG049
      @RG049 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jonathanhenderson9422 I respectfully disagree. Some people say Cry Of Achilles and Fortress is better than Blackbird. And This Side Of Fate and The Last Hero are on the same level. And all Alter Bridge albums have its own distinctive sound.

    Thanks Doug for getting to this one and doing the Amsterdam version. Mark Morris, whom the song was written for, sold Myles Kennedy his first guitar. I consider this Alter Bridge's epic song. As some in the comments have stated the next one to do is "Words Darker Than Their Wings Live at Royal Albert Hall" There are others, but I go there next. Mark Tremonti, the lead guitarist, also has a band and I would strongly recommend doing the studio version of Marching in Time. A very uplifting song. Like you said, for all that have lost someone close, this song goes out to you.

    Both Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti have solo projects. Myles is singing for Slash and Mark has his band Tremonti, both of which are worth reacting to. Mark is releasing an album for charity May 27th called Tremonti Sings Sinatra. There is a video of him doing I’ve Got You Under My Skin and it's worth watching cause he is outside his comfort zone and does a masterful job. He does the album with the Frank Sinatra Orchestra so the music is superb. Give Tremonti a listen cause he does the songs he deems too heavy for Alter Bridge. They have 5 albums the most recent from the fall.

    You should check out Tremonti’s solo stuff sometime. That dude is a top tier guitarist and he also has a set of pipes. Dust is probably their most popular song

    After Words Darker than their Wings, please consider Cry of Achilles and Fortress. Both songs are epic. Thanks so much for finally getting to the masterpiece that is Blackbird!

    This is great song and great band but "The end is here" is one of their most underrated songs

    These guys!! Just love their emotionality. But, I swear, Mark Tremonti moves me when he plays. Myles is good. But Mark is legendary! I'd also listen to Mark sing over Myles any day of the week. No slight to Myles.

    Myles Kennedy teaming up with Slash and The Conspirators, in my humble opinion, is what Guns and Roses should be (without the decades of troubles). Their discography together is great, the Live in Manchester album is a great compilation of great songs. I also recomend people to check it out Slash and Myles 2010 acoustic Max Sessions.

      I totally agree. Slash with Miles Kennedy is the best thing going in rock n roll. I just saw them a few weeks ago. Slash is absolutely amazing.

    Every damn time! Those solos just carry all the emotion. You should listen to Words Darker Than Their Wings live from Albert Hall. This band does not have a bad song! And Tremonti's solo stuff is killer just like Myles with Slash. The drummer Scott Phillipps is in a band too with some guys from Sevendust and Tremonti's band they are called Projected
